Lying in the rural outskirts of Marsala on the West coast of Sicily, this stunning home is a wonderful place for a family holiday. When staying in this elegant villa you are able to enjoy the greenery of the countryside and the local amenities and yet you can be in Marsala Old Town within a ten-minute drive.
Sleeping up to 10 guests across 5 bedrooms, this house is perfect for when taking a holiday with all of the family or a big group of friends. The living accommodation is bright and airy, all of the rooms are painted in crisp white with pops of colour from the furnishings. The open-plan living and dining room is large enough for your party to spend time together whilst the 5 bedrooms offer a space for you to unwind after a busy day. One of the bedrooms is on the first floor and has panoramic sea views from the terrace.
Stepping outside, the garden is as inviting as the villa and you are sure to want to spend a lot of time out there enjoying the sun! In the garden you will find a huge pool with Roman steps, lined with sun loungers to relax amongst the trees. The outside space also has a covered area and outdoor tables and is beautifully lit in the evenings meaning you can stay outdoors as long as possible.
A few minutes away by car or a ten-minute walk away there are a number of local amenities including a coffee shop, pizzeria and a bakery but for a larger collection of shops and restaurants just make the ten-minute drive in to the centre of Marsala. The town has ancient roots and is packed with a wealth of staggering historic buildings such as the Norman cathedral. Wander down from the charming squares of the old town to a harbour side bar to sample the locally produced Marsala wine. You are also able to take boat trips from the harbour to the stunning Egadi isles which offer unspoilt beaches and pretty white washed villages to visit.
Other nearby attractions include some of Sicily’s best beaches and the famous salt lagoons just ten minutes away by car. The Stagnone nature reserve is a 40-minute drive away and the town Mazara del Vallo is around half an hour away.

- Children may need to be supervised on the roof terrace.
- The home is located in a semi-rural area in the outskirts of Marsala, it is recommended that you bring a car to make the most of the area, there is parking available for guests.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa MarsalaVilla Marsala is ideally located in the west of Sicily. Close to the sea and a ten-minute drive away from the gorgeous old town of Marsala this is a lovely place for a holiday with family or friends as there is such a variety of things to see and do on offer in the area.
Close to the house there are a number of cafes and shops which are a ten-minute walk away or a few minutes in the car. These are really handy if you wish to pick up some pastries for breakfast or nip out for a quick coffee, if you wish to do some more shopping or wander round some historic attractions, then simply drive ten-minutes to the centre of Marsala.
Marsala is a brilliant base for your holiday and there is enough to see there that you could fill a few days just exploring the town. The town was built upon the ruins of an ancient Punic settlement and has a rich history which is reflected in the architecture you will be able to enjoy when wandering around the maze-like streets and squares. There are some lovely places of worship to visit including the cathedral as well as the archaeological museum which houses a large warship which was pulled out of the sea! Of course, Marsala is most well-known for its famous wine, so make sure to sample a glass at a wine tasting or just visit one of the many rustic bars.
Another nearby town is Mazara Del Vallo which is a 40-minute drive away. This town has a rather different feel as it was occupied for so long by the Arabs, today you can still see lots of details in the buildings and art work of the town, especially at the Kasbah which is one of the town’s main attractions.
To enjoy some of the area’s natural beauty head to one of the many amazing beaches including Lido Signorino which is twenty minutes away and is a great place for sunbathing. The salt lagoons with their stunning scenery and old windmills are also a must-see location and are just ten-minutes away right near Stagnone nature reserve where you can spot migrating birds including flamingos getting ready to head out to Africa.
Finally, if you are looking for a full day trip out then a terrific place to go is the Egadi islands which can be reached by boat trip or even the archaeological site Segesta which is a well-preserved temple over 2000 years old! Segesta is 40-minutes away in lush countryside.

Best Suited For: All AgesClose to lovely nature reserves, unspoilt islands, plenty of beaches and some amazing archaeological sites, this area is perfect for a holiday with kids of all ages as there is lots to do but it is also a great place to just relax while the kids play.
If you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach while on holiday then Western Sicily is a superb location as the coastline is filled with family friendly stretches of beaches with white sand and calm waters which are good for children. Some worth a mention include Lido Signorino and San Teodoro, both of which are family favourites and under twenty-minutes away in the car. There are also gorgeous beaches and little coves ideal for snorkelling on the Egadi islands which you can visit by boat, the trip from Marsala harbour takes around 20-minutes and children will love approaching the islands by boat.
For older kids, help make the history of the island come alive with a visit to Selinunte a former Greek settlement which was abandoned 2500 years ago but has been brilliantly preserved. There are many buildings and ruins to visit at the site, you could even hire bikes to ride around the lush surrounding countryside. Selinunte is 50-minutes away from the villa but well worth the trip.
