Palatial splendour awaits you when you vacation in the ultra-luxurious Piazza Venezia View duplex penthouse apartment, nestled in the heart of central Rome, the capital city of Italy.

This incredible, three hundred and twenty square metre, fifth-floor apartment has two spacious ensuite double bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests in some style. The apartment boasts four stunning view terraces overlooking the Eternal City’s most iconic sights, embracing the monument to Victor Emmanuel II, Capitoline Hill, the Piazza Venezia, and the Campidoglio stairs. Piazza Venezia View has been faithfully restored with meticulous attention to detail, retaining the original features, including marble flooring, timbered coffered ceilings, and room configurations.

The interiors are exquisite and opulent, carefully curated artwork adorns the walls, sculpted marble busts and sparkling chandeliers are perfectly positioned, and richly coloured drapes grace every room. Modern technology plays a discreet part, with complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, satellite television for your amusement, and a lift to elevate you to the fifth floor.

Enter the apartment to be greeted by a light and airy living space with breathtaking panoramic city views. The curved ceiling sitting room has scenic picture windows and is elegantly furnished with comfortable contemporary sofas and armchairs, a scattering of coffee and side tables, and a flat-screen smart television.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest appliances that you will need to cater for your holiday, and should you wish, the concierge team can arrange for your own private chef. The ornate eight-seater dining set would make for some splendid indoor entertaining. Take the centrepiece, marble and glass, sweeping staircase to the upper floor, where you will find two beautifully appointed double bedrooms.

The Master Bedroom has a king-size four-poster bed under a wooden coffered ceiling, surrounded by classical art and gilded ornate furniture. There is a wow-factor ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub, enclosed by gold drapes, a vanity unit, and a WC. The second bedroom has painted walls depicting trompe l’oeil scenes from the country, and is furnished with a queen size bed, bedecked in white satin, with an ensuite bathroom with a glass-fronted walk-in shower.

An ensuite studio has a double sofa bed for two guests and a private balcony overlooking the Piazza Venezia. Two guest bathrooms complete the accommodation. The apartment has four fabulous furnished terraces, one home to a dining set for twelve guests, where you can entertain alfresco under a cerulean sky.

Piazza Venezia View is nestled in the heart of central Rome, the capital city of Italy. The apartment is sixteen kilometres from Rome's international Leonardo da Vinci Airport, which can be reached by taxi or direct train. The central Roma Termini train station is five minutes by the metro to Piazza Venezia station; hop into a cab, or pre-book a transfer with the concierge team.

There is something for everyone to enjoy when you holiday in Rome, whether it's ancient history, architecture, renaissance art, culture, food, shopping and fashion or the simple joy of people watching, the Eternal City has got the lot. Step outside the apartment, where the busy hub of Piazza Venezia is at the foot of Capitoline Hill, where four major roads intersect. The original Palazzo Venezia is now the Museum of Medieval and Renaissance Art, and the magnificent monument to Victor Emmanuel II, the first King of Italy, is home to a museum about reunification. Everywhere you go, ornate churches are rich with decorative icons; seek solace in the nearby Basilica San Marco, which dates to 336 AD.

Soak up the history of the city at The Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the ancient Colosseum, all within walking distance. Walk up the Spanish Steps to see stunning city views, enjoy a cappuccino in the bustling square of Piazza Barberini, and then make a wish at the famous sculpted marble Trevi fountain. Meander through the Vatican Museum art collection to see Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, the double helix staircase, and the rooftop vistas before a visit to the Basilica of St Peter.

For fine art, visit the beautiful Borghese Gallery, set in landscaped gardens, housing an incredible collection of Canova marble sculptures. On the stroll back, stop at Harry's Bar for a Bellini, then walk down the Spanish steps and visit the Romantic poet Keat's house before sampling English muffins at the famous Babington's Tea Rooms, which has been served them since 1893.

Saunter down the oh-so-very fabulous Via dei Condotti and shop for world-famous designer-label fashion and handcrafted leather handbags. Go to the outskirts of the city and cross the Old Appian Way to discover the hidden treasures of the catacombs. Venture further afield to Tivoli, thirty kilometres away, where you can visit Hadrian's Villa and the exquisite Villa D'Este.

During the day, dine on freshly made pasta and homemade ice cream, eat alfresco in one of the many squares, sit back, and watch as the world and the beautiful people pass by. In the evening, make your way to the foodie heaven of Trastevere, and taste the delights of Italian cooking in a traditional taverna, just like Nonna used to make!

There's so much for your kids to do and see when you vacation in Rome. First stop, take the family to the must-see Colosseum, manned by actors dressed as Roman soldiers, where they can explore the magnificent Flavian amphitheatre, the maze of tunnels which housed the animals, and imprisoned the gladiators.

Older children visiting the Gruppo Storica Roma can learn to be a gladiator, don a tunic and sword, and immerse themselves in the history of ancient Rome.
Take a walk to the Spanish steps, march them down to Keats House and Babington's Tea Rooms, march them back up again to the ornate Renaissance church and admire the stunning views over the city.

Younger ones will love an afternoon at the Techno di Pulcinelia al Gianicolo, an open-air puppet theatre, or the San Carlino, where the puppets and musicians interact with the children. Row a boat or ride a bike through the nearby beautiful Borghese Gardens.

Take a trip to the Bioparco Roma, where you'll find a toy train, a mini zoo, a children's playground, and pony rides through the gardens. Take them on a tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and the beauty of St Peter's Basilica. Marvel at the three-metre hole in the roof of the two-thousand-year-old Pantheon, designed to shine a light on the Emperor at noon on the 21st of April, the date the Roman Empire was founded.

Throw coins in the Trevi Fountain and make a wish. At night, all aboard an Illuminated Rome Tour for Kids, pizza and gelato included. Eat ice cream of every colour, especially the blue bubble-gum flavoured one.
