Villa Santa Margherita is a spacious villa which enjoys unrivalled views over the Bay of San Michele from its many balconies and terraces. The home is set within a quieter neighbourhood, just few kilometers away from the centre of a stunning town called Rapallo. Whether you wish to spend your days trekking through the rugged interior or enjoying an Aperol Spritz or two at a harbour-side bar in Portofino, this is a fantastic place to call home for your trip to Liguria.

This large villa is set over three floors and can accommodate ten guests in light and airy, en-suite bedrooms. The living spaces on the ground floor are the heart of the home and are made up of a living room with comfortable sofas, a dining room and a well-equipped kitchen. These rooms open out on to the main terrace and garden so you can make the most of the outdoor living spaces too for evening gatherings and drinks as the sun goes down.

The five lovely bedrooms are set over the first and second floors; there are four double-bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms offering either a bath or shower. There is also a vast master suite available with a living room and kitchenette of its own.

Outdoors there are a number of terraces and balconies which boast automated awnings and shutters to create much-needed shade on hot days. There are outdoor sofas, dining areas and sun loungers dotted around on the terraces, as well as a lawned garden with a refreshing private swimming pool.

The home enjoys a fabulous location, in walking distance to the nearest beach and few kilometers away from the centre of Rapallo. This town is a wonderful base for getting to know the Italian Riviera and is popular with locals and tourists alike. Historic buildings and attractions are plentiful here and you will not have to travel far to find a wine bar to sample the local wines. The sea front and the marina are backed by a wide promenade which is the ideal place for an afternoon stroll, looking out over the sea and watching the world go by. You can dine in the centre of Rapallo or choose a restaurant by the promenade for dinner with a view.

In addition to Rapallo, you are also close to some of the most fashionable towns and villages on the Riviera, such as Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. If you would like to spend the day visiting a busy city with a wealth of museums and galleries, you could visit the nearby Genoa.

With numerous beaches just a stone’s throw away and the glamourous town of Portofino in easy reach, Villa Santa Margherita is the ideal base for exploring the Italian Riviera. Whether you wish to enjoy the local café culture and unwind on the beaches, or you fancy getting out in nature on hikes and bike rides, Liguria is a dream destination, with something for everyone.

The home is located within a leafy residential area which overlooks the sea and is close to a number of villages, towns and beaches. This setting is perfect for those who do not wish to drive very far as there is plenty to do nearby.
In addition to the close-by amenities and villages, this area also boasts a picturesque landscape which you can explore on hikes or by taking part in sporting pursuits. Within 5km of the villa, you can access tennis courts, golf courses, head out on horse treks and hire mountain bikes to see more of the mountainous interior.

If you prefer to simply unwind while on holiday then you should definitely add a wine tasting to your itinerary, there are a range of tastings and tours on offer in Portofino, or you could head inland to a family-owned vineyard to see how the wine is made.

When you want to pick up some groceries or sip your morning coffee in a pretty piazza, the nearest town, Rapallo is just few kilometers away from the house. This postcard-worthy coastal town is packed with shops, restaurants and attractions and is wonderful to have so near. This medieval seaside town has a long history as you will see from its unique castle called “the old castle on the sea”. The incredible castle sticks out in to the sea and was constructed in the 1500s to protect the town from attacking pirates. The castle is now a museum which is free to visit.

Heading inland and up in to the hill, you will not fail to spot the bright white Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montallegro, a vast 16th century church with an updated exterior and amazing art works inside, a fun way to reach the Sanctuary is by cable car and you will be awarded with incredible panoramic views. You can finish your day here with dinner at a traditional trattoria where you can tuck in to tasty dishes such as freshly baked focaccia.

If you would like a day of rest and relaxation, a beach day is in order! There are many beaches to choose from along the coast, with the closest being just over 1km away. This pretty beach enjoys incredible views over the castle and public as well as paid areas. There are plenty of lovely beaches within easy reach, and if you would like to visit the area’s most beautiful beach Spiaggia Minaglia, you could drive the 5km or take a boat trip from Rapallo’s lively marina.

It would be a shame to miss out on a day trip to Portofino which is one of the region’s best-loved destinations. This pastel-toned, former fishing village is now a chic coastal town where super yachts bob on the water and fine dining restaurants open out on to the gorgeous piazzas. There is plenty to see here, from bay-side Abbeys to an underwater statue of Jesus Christ, but you will be equally happy just strolling around and doing a spot of shopping.
