Want a holiday with a seaview, then Villa Adrianu is the property for you. This stunning villa is set on the hillside overlooking Elia Bay, on the southern tip of the island of magical Mykonos in the heart of the Cycladic Aegean Sea.
Villa Adrianu is an architect-designed two-storey property set into the natural slope of the landscape in a plot of one thousand eight hundred square metres. It is constructed out of classic white-washed stone and surrounded by a wall that encloses a Mediterranean shrub garden. The three hundred and two square metre villa has five bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests in some style, ideal for a large family gathering or friends get together. The interiors have been designed with meticulous attention to detail, using contemporary furnishings, decorated in a palette of pastels, and finished with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in light and air. Villa Adrianu comes with its own private parking space, and for your comfort and entertainment complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout. The property benefits from panoramic sea views, and its own private infinity swimming pool.

Access the villa at the entrance level where you will find a hundred and eleven square metres of open plan living space. The seating area has two large comfy white sofas and matching pouffes, matching furniture and a flat-screen satellite television, with a DVD and CD player. The dining area has a modern wooden table and white chairs, ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining. The adjacent all white kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holidays, including a built-in oven and hob, a family-size fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave, and that must-have morning coffee maker. The first of the five bedrooms can be found on this floor, a large master bedroom with a king size bed, an en suite bathroom, and its own private entrance. A convenient guest cloakroom with WC and a hand basin completes this floor. Take the internal stairs to the lower floor where you will find the other four beautifully appointed spacious bedrooms. There is a master bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bathroom, a second bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bathroom, a bedroom with twin beds and an en suite bathroom, and a bedroom with a double bed. On this floor is also a second relaxed seating area, a small kitchenette, a separate bathroom, and a utility room with washing facilities.

Access the terrace via the lower ground floor sliding doors, or the external stone steps. The extensive stone tiled terrace has an impressive Roman step and ladder entry large infinity private swimming pool, with simply stunning sea views. Relax by the pool and soak up some rays on the modern grey mesh sun loungers. Lay back on the deep cushioned hand-made wooden day bed and catch up with this year’s best seller. Sit and watch the sunset over the horizon, cocktail in hand, then eat alfresco at the outside dining table under the shady pergola, with dishes cooked on the barbeque, as the stars come out to shine.

Villa Adrianu is located on the southern tip of the holiday hot spot of Mykonos, part of the Cyclades islands in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The exclusive island of Mykonos measures only ten kilometres long by fifteen kilometres wide, so wherever you want to go it’s only a short drive away. The villa is nine kilometres from Mykonos airport, which is served by both local and international flight operators. If you are island hopping the nearby Naxos and Syros also have their own airports. The new port of Mykonos is a hub of activity for those landing and departing from island hopping ferries, or super yachts cruising the Aegean, and is a quick twenty minute drive to the villa. The villa is a kilometre from the resort town of Elia on the south coast, famous for its white sandy beaches, and stylish seafront restaurants. Villa Adrianu boasts one of the best locations on the island of Mykonos, situated near the beautiful soft sandy beaches of Elia, Agrari, and Kalo Livadi.

Agrari Beach is family-friendly, offering a selection of water sports, a playground, and cafes and bars, the south coast beaches have calmer sea waters than those in the north, which can be affected by the notoriously strong winds. Near the villa, there is a tennis court, fitness centre, and fishing opportunities. The charming inland town of Ano Mera is just three kilometres away, with its sixteenth-century monastery, homemade bakeries, and welcoming family run tavernas.

The extensive coastline is surrounded by many beautiful golden sandy beaches, take your pick from nearby nudist Elia beach, to the family-friendly favourite of Plays Gialos Beach, or party, party, party all day long on Paradise Beach, with its crystal clear waters, restaurants, bars, and clubs with resident DJs, there’s something for everyone on the island of Mykonos. During daylight hours play penance in one of the eight hundred churches that populate the island, most notably Paraportiani, which is a unique construction combining four styles of architecture.

Take a visit to must-see Mykonos town, known locally as Chora, a ten kilometre drive from the villa. Here you can wander the maze of streets with the colourful Cycladic houses, and do some serious designer label shopping in one of the many luxury boutiques. Take a table at a seafront restaurant and enjoy a dish of freshly caught seafood, whilst sipping ouzo and watching the beautiful people pass by. Find out the island’s history and culture at the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Museum, and the Maritime Museum, then go out of town to Lena’s House to discover how the islanders lived. Take a walk up to the landmark windmills, known as Kato Mili, where the wheat was ground to make bread and is now a mini museum and residencies. Walk along the waterfront to Little Venice, where original merchant houses overhang the sea, and are now home to cafes, bars, restaurants and galleries, best enjoyed at sunset with a retsina or two. Admire the Armenistis lighthouse, still fully functioning and an essential asset of Mykonos’ maritime history.

No visit to Mykonos is complete without a day at sea, join a catamaran jolly and snorkel in the sea, or if you’re feeling flush, charter your own yacht and discover secret coves and hidden bays and beaches, and for the romantics, nothing beats a sunset cruise, cocktail in hand as the sun sets over the horizon. Further afield the uninhabited island of Delos is well worth a visit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, go with a group or arrange your own private tour.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Your kids will just love a holiday on the island of Mykonos, and there is a surprising number of fun and family activities to keep them all amused whatever their age. Starting with Villa Adrianu’s private infinity swimming pool, and as there are no set hours they can play and splash all day. Elia beach is the nearest family-friendly seaside spot one kilometre away, although you may not want to wander a little further along the coastline to Elia nudist beach. Nearby Agrari Beach offers water sports for your older children, and a playground for the younger ones, as well as a café and bar.

The coastline of Mykonos is dotted with family-friendly beaches, many of which you can book ahead, and as the villa is on the south coast, it has much calmer seas and is safer for children. We can recommend Agios Ioannis beach with an infrastructure with pre-bookable sun loungers and parasols, cafes and restaurants, and calm seas. Kalo Livadi in the southeast has views over the Cyclades archipelago and the island of Naxos, and Panormos Beach offers a great restaurant with giant bean bags. Your younger children may enjoy a visit to the Animal Organic Farm, where they can pet and feed the livestock, harvest seasonal crops, enjoy some time in nature, and keep themselves busy with some traditional farming tasks. Whilst your older kids could take a guided hike over the island’s landscape, exploring the local flora and fauna, ending with a cooling dip in the sea. All of the family will love a day at sea, whether it’s island hopping aboard a shared Catamaran, chartering a yacht and discovering secret coves, hidden bays and beaches, and swimming and snorkelling spotting friendly fish.

Keep the creatives happy with a mosaic workshop, or a family cooking lesson with a local chef teaching you all to make traditional Greek meze. A trip to Mykonos town is a must, wander the winding streets, shop for souvenirs, meet Petros the Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos, and then enjoy a family-friendly meal in a seaside taverna. For your intellectually curious offspring, there’s the Archaeological Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Folk Museum, and Lena’s House, all within walking distance of the old town. A short walk along the seafront will take you to Little Venice, a pirate’s paradise of a maze of streets with colourful houses overhanging the sea. Tilt at windmills at the top of the town, the landmark of Mykonos, where they used to grind wheat and make bread for the islanders, now a mini museum and some are even residencies. The Lighthouse of Mykonos is seven kilometres northeast of the town, and well wor

th a visit for the stunning sea views of the island of Tinos, and to watch the boats arriving and departing from the harbour. Who would have thought it, but Mykonos is home to the best Go-Kart track in Greece, open every day from April until November from 10 am until 2 am, which should keep them occupied all day. For those who prefer a more natural form of transport, they can mount a pony and go horseback riding in Ano Mera. If you want to venture further afield, a trip to the adjacent island of uninhabited Delos is a delight, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, Apollo and Artemis, cross the water by private charter or a shared tour for a fabulous family day out.
