If you're seeking a holiday with a sea view, Villa Adrianu offers an ideal option. This architect-designed villa is situated on the hillside overlooking Elia Bay, at the southern tip of Mykonos, nestled in the Cycladic Aegean Sea.

Villa Adrianu spans two storeys and is set on an 1800 square metre plot, blending seamlessly with the natural slope of the landscape. Constructed from classic white-washed stone, it is enclosed by a wall that borders a Mediterranean shrub garden. The 302 square metre villa features five bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, accommodating up to ten guests. It is designed for gatherings of families or friends, with interiors furnished in contemporary style, decorated in soft pastel tones, and equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows for ample natural light. The property includes a private parking space, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi throughout. Guests can enjoy panoramic sea views and a private infinity swimming pool.

Upon entering the villa, you are welcomed into 111 square metres of open-plan living space. The seating area includes two large white sofas and matching pouffes, with a flat-screen satellite television, DVD, and CD player. The dining area features a modern wooden table with white chairs, suitable for indoor entertaining. Adjacent to this is the all-white kitchen, fully equipped with a built-in oven and hob, a family-sized fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and a coffee maker. The first bedroom, a master suite with a king-size bed, en suite bathroom, and private entrance, is located on this level. This floor also includes a guest cloakroom with a WC and hand basin.

Descending the internal stairs to the lower floor, you will find four additional spacious bedrooms: a master suite with a king-size bed and en suite bathroom, another bedroom with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom, a bedroom with twin beds and ensuite bathroom, and a bedroom with a double bed. This floor also includes a secondary seating area, a small kitchenette, a separate bathroom, and a utility room with washing facilities.

The terrace, accessible via the lower ground floor sliding doors or external stone steps, features a large infinity swimming pool with Roman step and ladder entry, offering stunning sea views. The stone-tiled terrace is furnished with modern grey mesh sun loungers and a handmade wooden day bed. Guests can enjoy sunsets with a cocktail in hand and dine alfresco under a shaded pergola, with meals prepared on the barbecue as the stars begin to shine.

Villa Adrianu is situated on the southern edge of Mykonos, a prominent island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. The villa is located nine kilometres from Mykonos Airport, which accommodates both domestic and international flights. The new port of Mykonos, a key point for ferry and yacht arrivals and departures, is a twenty-minute drive from the villa. Additionally, Villa Adrianu is one kilometre from the coastal town of Elia, known for its pristine beaches and elegant waterfront dining options.

Villa Adrianu is conveniently positioned near some of Mykonos' most attractive beaches, including Elia, Agrari, and Kalo Livadi. Agrari Beach is ideal for families, featuring water sports, a playground, and various dining options. The calmer waters on the south coast are in contrast to the northern shores, which can be affected by strong winds. Close to the villa, there are amenities such as a tennis court, a fitness centre, and fishing spots. The nearby town of Ano Mera, offers a glimpse into traditional life with its 16th-century monastery, local bakeries, and family-operated tavernas.

The coastline around Mykonos boasts numerous beautiful sandy beaches, catering to a variety of preferences. Options range from the nudist-friendly Elia Beach to the family-oriented Platis Gialos Beach, or the lively Paradise Beach, known for its clear waters, dining venues, and vibrant nightlife. The island also hosts over 800 churches, including the notable Paraportiani, which features a unique blend of architectural styles.

Mykonos town, locally called Chora, is a must-visit destination, the town is known for its picturesque streets lined with colourful Cycladic houses and high-end boutiques. Seafront restaurants offer fresh seafood and local beverages, providing a perfect spot for people-watching. Cultural enthusiasts can explore the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Museum, and the Maritime Museum. The windmills of Kato Mili, a former grain milling site, and Little Venice, with its waterfront cafes and bars, are also popular attractions. The Armenistis Lighthouse remains a functional and historical maritime landmark on the island.

Exploring the waters around Mykonos is highly recommended. Options include catamaran excursions, private yacht charters to discover secluded bays or romantic sunset cruises. Additionally, the uninhabited island of Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the mythical birthplace of Zeus and Leto, offers organized tours or private visits, adding a cultural dimension to the visit.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Your kids will just love a holiday on the island of Mykonos, and there is a surprising number of fun and family activities to keep them all amused whatever their age. Starting with Villa Adrianu’s private infinity swimming pool, and as there are no set hours they can play and splash all day. Elia beach is the nearest family-friendly seaside spot one kilometre away, although you may not want to wander a little further along the coastline to Elia nudist beach. Nearby Agrari Beach offers water sports for your older children, and a playground for the younger ones, as well as a café and bar.

The coastline of Mykonos is dotted with family-friendly beaches, many of which you can book ahead, and as the villa is on the south coast, it has much calmer seas and is safer for children. We can recommend Agios Ioannis beach with an infrastructure with pre-bookable sun loungers and parasols, cafes and restaurants, and calm seas. Kalo Livadi in the southeast has views over the Cyclades archipelago and the island of Naxos, and Panormos Beach offers a great restaurant with giant bean bags. Your younger children may enjoy a visit to the Animal Organic Farm, where they can pet and feed the livestock, harvest seasonal crops, enjoy some time in nature, and keep themselves busy with some traditional farming tasks. Whilst your older kids could take a guided hike over the island’s landscape, exploring the local flora and fauna, ending with a cooling dip in the sea. All of the family will love a day at sea, whether it’s island hopping aboard a shared Catamaran, chartering a yacht and discovering secret coves, hidden bays and beaches, and swimming and snorkelling spotting friendly fish.

Keep the creatives happy with a mosaic workshop, or a family cooking lesson with a local chef teaching you all to make traditional Greek meze. A trip to Mykonos town is a must, wander the winding streets, shop for souvenirs, meet Petros the Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos, and then enjoy a family-friendly meal in a seaside taverna. For your intellectually curious offspring, there’s the Archaeological Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Folk Museum, and Lena’s House, all within walking distance of the old town. A short walk along the seafront will take you to Little Venice, a pirate’s paradise of a maze of streets with colourful houses overhanging the sea. Tilt at windmills at the top of the town, the landmark of Mykonos, where they used to grind wheat and make bread for the islanders, now a mini museum and some are even residencies. The Lighthouse of Mykonos is seven kilometres northeast of the town, and well worth a visit for the stunning sea views of the island of Tinos, and to watch the boats arriving and departing from the harbour.

For those who prefer a more natural form of transport, they can mount a pony and go horseback riding in Ano Mera. If you want to venture further afield, a trip to the adjacent island of uninhabited Delos is a delight, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, Apollo and Artemis, cross the water by private charter or a shared tour for a fabulous family day out.
