Villa Elpida offers proximity to the beautiful and tranquil resort’s private beach, only 200m away, and is a short ride away from the centre of Pefkochori. This beautiful old village is surrounded by pine and olives trees growing down to the sea. Presenting narrow streets, beautiful gardens, cafés and restaurants, it provides a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and it is an ideal town to spend an afternoon exploring the villa surroundings.
The private beach doesn’t only include sun loungers and parasols, but is also the perfect place to initiate in a variety of watersports: you can choose between kayaks, stand up paddles, snorkelling and more. There are also coaching sessions available. There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time, it takes a little getting used to but after a few minutes, you realize how easy scuba diving really is. The biggest challenge instructors have is not coaxing participants into the water but coaxing them out when the time is up!
From Pefkochori you can rent a boat or take a day trip on a sailing boat around Toroneos Bay taking a closer look at what you see from your lounger on the beach. Whichever trip you chose you are likely to head for either Toroni or Porto Koufo where almost all of the fishing boats land their catch. These trips are always informative and allow a stop either for swimming from the boat or for you to pop ashore and explore your port of call.
A completely different beach experience is that of Possidi cape, the very southernmost point of the Kassandra peninsula, where the villa is located. Here there are no loungers, tavernas or beach bars, just you and what you take with you for the day. It is very exposed to the sunlight with little natural shade, so please take your sunscreen! The Possidi cape has fabulous views over to Sithonia and mainland Greece, in the evening as the sun sets down, there can be few better places to be.
