Stepping into the villa, guests are greeted by a warm and open living space made bright by a lofted ceiling and floods of natural light. The ground floor features a chic, minimalist kitchen and dining area completed by a comfortable corner sofa. The kitchen’s range of modern appliances and ample counter space ensure culinary enthusiasts will have no trouble creating the delicious meals which make a holiday memorable. Whether you’re tossing together a Greek Salad or preparing a holiday feast for family and friends, this bright, airy kitchen is a breeze.
Off the kitchen, guests will find the first of two bedrooms and two stunning terraces with the villa’s first glimpses of its spectacular sea and castle views. The bedroom is adorned with tasteful furnishings and a palette inspired by the natural hues of the surrounding landscape and consists of a king-sized bed, boudoir, minibar, and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Ascending to the first floor brings guests to a large living room furnished with cosy armchairs, an immersive white sofa (which converts to a bed accommodating two adults), a Smart TV, and an exit onto a terrace with comfortable sun loungers. This welcoming common area seamlessly combines the living and dining spaces, providing an inviting atmosphere for socializing or simply unwinding with loved ones.
Halfway up the stairs to the upper floor reveal a sofa nook and exit onto another terrace with comfortable sun loungers. On the upper floor rests the master bedroom with a king-sized bed, chic sitting area, designated workstation, and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. What is more, the room’s veranda boasts spectacular views overlooking the castle and the sea.
Beyond the inviting interiors, the villa's allure extends to private terraces that offer a wealth of serene spaces from the al fresco lounge and dining setting on the rooftop, to the sumptuous sun loungers beside the plunge pool and jacuzzi. Here, against the backdrop of the Aegean Sea, you can enjoy leisurely breakfasts or unwind with a glass of local wine under the vast Greek sky.

About the surrounding area of Elsie SuiteThe westernmost island of the Dodecanese, Astypalaia is quintessentially Greek with its whitewashed villages, azure waters and sun-drenched beaches. The island itself is divided into two main sections connected by a narrow isthmus, giving its identity as “The Butterfly Isle”. Elsie Suite is well-situated on the western part (known as Mesa Nisi) in the island’s capital – Astypalea.
Astypalea offers everything guests could require during their relaxing stay, from bars, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets, to museums, beaches and swimming spots.
One of the most picturesque towns in the Aegean, Astypalea is perched on a promontory that juts out into the sea creating two splendid bays on each side. Towering above is Astypalea Castle, a Venetian castle constructed by John Querini in the early 13th century as a shelter against pirates.
Make sure not to miss the eight traditional windmills that line the path to the Castle. Situated on the saddle of the hill, the windmills are a lovely feature and, if you look closely, you’ll notice it’s not just their mills that turn but their roofs too.
Archaeological Museum of Astypalaia exhibits artefacts discovered in various archaeological sites from across the island and across time from the Prehistoric period to the Middle Ages.
Drakos Cave is one of the island’s most notable natural attractions. The cave is decorated with an impressive array of stalactites and stalagmites in a variety of colours. The cave has long been thought a hiding place for pirate treasure.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere is a range of great beaches within a short distance from the villa that will prove the perfect place to take the young ones to splash around in the smooth, safe waters of the Aegean. Best of all Astypalaia is a secret gem of an island, low on crowds but high on beauty, meaning the beaches are relatively quiet and ideal for families.
Livadi is a particularly great beach for families with kids thanks to its sandy protected shores, and a small range of seaside taverns and cafes.
One of the best ways to explore the island is with an ATV, if the kids are old enough this is a great family adventure. If the kids are too young to control their own vehicle, not to worry, bring them along for the ride to discover the plethora of beaches and scenic points that would otherwise be inaccessible. One such beach is Kaminakia Beach, a haven on the southern part of the island with turquoise waters and white pebbles.
Something else the whole family will enjoy is tasting the local cuisine. One thing you should make sure to try is pouggia – a pie-like deep-fried treat that can be either sweet or savoury. The island is also known for its cheese pies and handmade ravioli-like pasta, the type of dishes that even the pickiest children will gobble down without a fuss.
