Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages

Kalamaki's sandy beach with it's crystal clear waters is great for young swimmers and there is a lifeguard present most of the time.  There are lots of facilities. At some points it may be necessary to wear beach shoes to enter the water. There are also pedaloes to hire but no watersports, due to its protected status for the conservation of the turtles

Nearest watersports can be found at Tsilivi or St Nicks Beach in Vassilikos.

4km away is the Donkey sanctuary, run by an animal loving couple. AS well as donkeys they have peacocks, cats, dogs, geese, turkeys, ducks, sheep and goat, all rescued from around the island. There is a gift shop too.

Agio Farago or the Gorge of Saints is worth a visit to burn of energy. Easy walking along the canyon means it's no problem for young legs.

The ancient Minoan site of Agia Triada is just 3km away.

Reviews

  • Luxurious

    Posted by CA on 30/04/2019

We booked the villa to celebrate two family birthdays and the space worked perfectly for eight adults and one toddler. The villa was extremely luxurious and perfect for our family get together- stunning decor and spacious, well equipped bedrooms, each with added extras- toiletries bathrobes, slippers and TVs. Stavros was a great host. From fitting baby gates to stairs, to advising and booking restaurants for us, we felt he was really interested in ensuring we were able to make the most of what this lovely part of Crete has to offer. He even arranged courtesy drinks for us on the evening we celebrated birthdays in Sallis, Chania! I would definitely the Villa and we hope to return in the not too distant future!

  • Beautiful

    Posted by KN on 25/06/2018

I stayed at Villa Katia with five friends and we had a wonderful time. The villa was beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you would need--down to mixing bowls and bathrobes. Grocery stores, restaurants, and (of course) the beach were all nearby. I would definitely book again.
