Villa Kalaria is a sublime home situated in an idyllic location that perfectly captures the island’s magnificent sunshine. Positioned on a hillside, the home is ideal for those with a large appreciation for nature. It also means you’ll enjoy exceptional vistas over the town below.
The home boasts a bright and spacious interior that emphasises dazzling natural light through large windows that look out onto the garden. A high ceiling accentuates the lovely space in the living room which possesses comfy chairs and a cosy fireplace. Adjacent to the lounge, you’ll find an attractive dining area for eight.
Kids will love sharing the bunk beds that are in one of the bedrooms. This room also comes with access to the garden. From all of the bedrooms, guests will be able to admire panoramic views over Chania. The kitchen is stylish and equipped with a bar and bar stools, providing a great breakfast spot.
Villa Kalaria allows you to gaze over brilliant vistas over the island’s lovely natural beauty. Outdoors, a swinging chair, daybeds and sun loungers are placed beside the sparkling private pool. Here, you can make the most of Crete’s glorious sun rays. Guests will discover a charming seating area on the sheltered veranda where al fresco meals and casual get-togethers can be enjoyed.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa KalariaVilla Kalaria is located nearby the village of Tsikalaria which sits at the foot of the mountain ‘Malaxa.’ This is an extremely traditional village that still uses the blossom of sour orange trees to produce rose water. The quaint village is charming to simply wander around and boasts plenty of sights to see. Many festivals and celebrations take place in the village, including The St. Antoine festival, The St. John festival and the rosewater festival that takes place during the springtime.
The Byzantine church of Panagia in the village is a beautiful piece of architecture worth seeing. In the centre of the village lies a Turkish mosque as well as the village’s central spring water fountain. The mosque was previously a church dedicated to St. Nicolas and is also home to a Turkish coffee shop. The church of St. Antoine is another great attraction which features a newly renovated bell tower.
Kalamaki is a quiet nearby beach famous for being a mecca for turtles. It’s common to see baby turtles hatch and then crawl into the sea on this beach. As well as watching the turtles go by, visitors to Kalamaki can rent a sun lounger and parasol for the day and enjoy the dazzling sunshine. There is also a local taverna situated nearby where authentic Greek dishes can be enjoyed.

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa.
