Villa Gaia is located within an exclusive gated development of eight luxury villas. Being part of a recent development, Villa Gaia’s large natural stone terrace offers a spectacular view of the Aegean Sea. The villa is ideal for small parties and families who desire tranquillity and some privacy.
The two spacious ensuite bedrooms accommodate up to four guests and have plush and luxurious furnishings, that you and your guests will enjoy. On the ground floor is the main open-plan living accommodation which consists of a living and dining area, complete with eco-friendly fireplace as well as fully fitted kitchen and dining area. Slim framed sliding windows are found all over the villa and these allow the for the sun’s rays to touch every inch of this holiday home, offering beautiful views. On this level is the first of the two double bedrooms, which has direct access to the swimming pool area.
On the first floor there is an ensuite master bedroom, fitted with a modern bathtub. From this bedroom, wall-to-wall windows allow for uninterrupted views. The balcony is an ideal place from which to enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
The garden area is bordered with lush flora, that have been lovingly pruned. An outdoor dining space has been carefully considered, with a modern pergola offering guests beautiful views and ample protection from the sun. From here, put the outdoor barbecue to good use and cook up a large meal for your guests, the charcoal is even provided by the villa owner. After an exhausting day, have a dip in the sleek modern private infinity pool.

About the surrounding area of Villa GaiaWith several of the world’s top beaches all within a short drive of the villa, could there be a better location to head to on holiday! Villa Gaia itself offers a stunning location, with panoramic views over the Gramvousa peninsular and to the clear blue waters of Kissamos Bay! Behind the property the White Mountains rise out of the island, adding a spectacular backdrop to the villa, making it feel as though you have 360o views! Around the villa, the landscape comes alive with lush olive groves and endemic flora, so even as you drive up you get a sense of the beautiful natural colours and scents that the island is famed for, setting an early precedent for your relaxing holiday. There are several other villas within the same complex, yet all built at the same time they have been carefully positioned to offer the utmost in privacy, each with their own unique views and setting.
Villa Gaia is situated in the beautiful north-west coast of Crete, nearby to the town of Kissamos. Kissamos itself is a small port town, with a pretty harbour and bustling restaurants dotted along the seafront. Although quiet, the town offers everything you could need for your stay, with shops, supermarkets, cafeteria and of course traditional tavernas!
For a day out at the beach, the closest to you is the stunning Falasarna beach, which is only a 15-minutes’ drive away, boasting golden sandy shores and turquoise waters, this has been voted one of the top-5 beaches in Greece to visit. There are deck chairs you can rent, or with the sand so lovely why not just place down your towel and enjoy the feeling of the warm sand beneath you! Elafonissi beach is also just one hour south of the villa, which has been voted one of the top-10 beaches in the world – so definitely a must-visit for beach lovers!
If a highlight of your holidays is the food you get to eat, then Crete is definitely the right place to visit. The are plenty of traditional tavernas serving up delicious local recipes and fresh fish, normally positioned in seafront locations or tucked into charming cobbled streets! Along the coast, there are also fine-dining eateries and delicious intimate eateries where you can celebrate special occasions or enjoy a romantic meal with your partner! With the capital Chania only 30 minutes away, there is an endless supply of incredible food available, you won’t be disappointed!

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Gaia is a great escape for families, the downstairs bedroom can be made up as a twin or a double, giving you flexibility during your stay and suiting siblings that enjoy sharing a room! In the lounge, when the kids are tired, they can sink down into the comfy cushions watching a movie or play games! The sofa can be converted into a sofa bed, ideal for an additional child. The pergola on the terrace leaves some of the seating in the shade, ideal for younger kids. Please be aware that there is no fence around the pool, so little children will need to be supervised as they adventure around the terrace!
The beaches in Crete draw in families with young kids as the waters tend to be shallow and warm, and the shores sandy, making it safe and fun for kids to splash and play, whilst adults can keep an easy eye on them from the comfort of a deck chair! Lots of the beaches are perfect for snorkelling, discovering the rocks and life beneath the water, you can normally buy snorkels at the local shops or bring your own from home.
If you are looking for a day out as a family, with children of all ages, then we would recommend a boat trip to the uninhabited pirate island of Gramvouse. Along the trip, there are plenty of opportunities for swimming, snorkelling and exploring the ruins of a Venetian Fortress! The beach on the island is safe for young kids. On the way back, they can enjoy the magical adventure of visiting Balos Bay, filled with warm shallow water and beautiful pink sand! Older children may also enjoy walking the famous Samaria Gorge, which at 17km is the longest in Europe.
When you are looking for places to eat, there are plenty of family-friendly restaurants, with most eateries happily accepting young children – several will even offer you a kid’s menu. Popular traditional dishes with kids tend to be moussaka or souvlaki, all served with chips of course!

| End of stay cleaning included? | Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit. |

| Tax | From 1st January 2018, you’ll need to pay an Overnight Stay Tax which has been introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. The Tax is €0.50 per person, per night, €3.50 in total for 7-nights. This will be required to be paid upon arrival. |
| Insurance | Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings and any accidental damage caused during their stay. |

And relax...
We spent a week here in Villa Gaia. It was a beautiful villa with a lovely pool and terrace area. Villa was clean and spacious and the cooking facilities are well thought through and have everything you need. We barbecued twice and made lunch at the villa most days. The villas are cleverly landscaped so you never feel overlooked and the views over the bay are beautiful. Beautiful stars at night and very quiet. The villas are cleaned thoroughly daily and you have a regular supply of clean towels and fresh sheets.
We were well looked after by Eleni who was able to suggest good places to eat, a local taxi driver and also arranged a wonderful afternoon of horse riding. She's a mine of information and all her suggestions were good.
It's a sleepy place, perfect for relaxing. We were definitely glad we hired a car, as most things are a (short) drive away. Lots of beautiful beaches and we recommend the sunset at Orange Blue cafe above Falasarna beach. We'd certainly consider a return trip to Villa Gaia -
Family two week holiday
We had the most amazing 2 week stay in Villa Gaia. The Villa was stunning, beautifully located and very private. Immaculate pool and villa and very well equipped with every kitchen gadget you could wish for and frequent linen and towel changes.
The Villa hostess Eleni was great, extremely helpful with booking restaurants and excursions and no request was too much trouble! We met Vassillis the owner who was a lovely guy, very knowledgeable about everything and anything in Crete from the sea conditions to fishing, or the best restaurants in Chania!!
We haven't had such a relaxing Villa holiday in a long time. The cleaners come daily and sweep and tidy and empty dishwashers, all basics are provided which is great! The local supermarkets are excellent and very cheap.
There are so many lovely restaurants locally and it is so cheap relative to other holiday destinations that you don't even need to stay in and cook unless you want to! It's like a hotel but a villa!
Highly recommend it. We have booked already for next year!
