Overview
Villa Rocher is a serene retreat in the heart of the rolling Provençal countryside. As you approach the home, you will see lavender fields, trees and vineyards for miles around, and you can enjoy uninterrupted views from the vast garden. When you wish to visit a nearby village, there are two under 8km away with plenty of shops and eateries on offer.
The villa is a lovely stone home set on one level. The owners have lovingly maintained the period features of this historic house, such as the window shutters, stonework, beams and fireplaces and combined these with modern furnishings and facilities.
The living room is a spacious room filled with natural light. There are cosy sofas and armchairs nestled around the fireplace where you can gather together and work your way through the impressive record collection. The fully-fitted kitchen and the dining room are open-plan to create a sociable environment for cooking dinner with fresh produce from the market. You will find all the appliances you could need in the kitchen, including a coffee machine.
You can choose from three double bedrooms, one of which is a Master suite with an inviting bathtub for a good soak after a busy day. The home has all of the modern conveniences guests could wish for on a relaxing break, including air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV and a laundry room.
Outside, these fantastic touches continue, and you will find a large swimming pool and a hot tub in the garden. The grounds here are expansive, covering five acres. The home has lavender fields, trees and even a winding river within the gardens, so you can spend plenty of time exploring and making memories outdoors. When you wish to dine al-fresco on a warm evening, there is a covered terrace with a feature dining table and a stone barbecue for cooking.
Although the villa is rurally located, supermarkets and family-run eateries are close to home on country lanes. You can also discover a huge range of shops, cafés and restaurants in the nearby villages of Goult and Bonnieux.
Goult is 7.5km away from the villa and is an authentic Provençal village rather than a tourist spot. This historic village is a lovely place to visit with old and new sections- both of which are centuries old! Here you can find a cheese shop, butcher, bakery and a number of cafés and restaurants. Café de la Poste is the most popular eatery, and people visit the village just to eat here. It is worth spending some time exploring the ancient town walls, the beautiful windmill used to produce flour for the village, and churches, such as the 11th-century chapel of Saint Véran, nestled in woodlands on the outside of the village. While here, you can also walk down the hill to the little village of Lumières, which is known as a place of pilgrimage, or explore stunning hiking trails which lead out from the village.
Bonnieux is also close by at just 8km away and is a must-visit location. Bonnieux is one of the finest villages in the Luberon and is a picture-postcard place to explore, surrounded by 13th-century walls. The village has plenty of places to eat and drink, and one of the best features is the views! Walk up the 86 steps to the hilltop church for the most amazing panoramic vistas over the area.

What you should know…
- Parents should keep a close eye on little ones outdoors because the pool is unfenced, and there is a shallow river on the grounds.
- The house is in a rural setting, so we recommend that guests bring a car to visit nearby villages and explore more of Provence. There is parking available on site.
- Please note that the ensuite bathrooms for the two double bedrooms share a separate WC.
- Please note that published rates are only valid for the current year. Any bookings for subsequent years will be on request only and correct rates will be confirmed at the time of booking.
- Please note that your booking will only be confirmed once we have checked availability with the owner or their property manager.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa RocherLocated within an enchanting landscape of vineyards and lavender fields, which is dotted with ancient hilltop villages, Villa Rocher is perfectly situated for those wishing to experience authentic Provence and get away from it all.
Close to the home, there are plenty of wonderful spots you can visit to go walking, hiking, or cycling, as the expansive Luberon Natural Regional Park protects much of the land in this area. Whether you wish to spend the day in dense woodlands or climb the limestone rock faces of the Luberon mountains, you can access this parkland with ease. This landscape is also filled with family-fun farms and vineyards which produce Provence’s delicious wines, vegetables and cheeses. If you would like to visit one of the nearby vineyards, then Domaine de la Citadelle (13km away) is a great one to visit. Here, you can tour the vineyard and cellars, taste the wines, and visit the unique corkscrew museum on-site!
When you need to pick up some fresh pastries for breakfast, or you would like to wander around a quaint village for the morning, there are a number of villages nearby that you can drive to. Goult is the closest village to the house at 7.5km away and is a gorgeous place off the beaten track. This village is small but boasts a 17th-century castle, a Gothic church hailing from the 12th century and the incredible Jerusalem windmill, which once milled the flour for this area. The winding cobbled streets give way to pretty squares filled with the tables of cafés where you can tuck into lunch with a view over the nearby farmland. If you fancy an after-dinner stroll, follow the paths to the old agricultural terraces created by farmers trying to tame this wild area. This idyllic walk takes an hour, though more challenging hikes are available for the experienced.
Bonnieux is also just a short drive from the house, 8km away. This village is elevated 450m high and topped by its Romanesque church; climb up to this church to enjoy the best views in the area. Bonnieux is one of the most impressive villages in Provence, so it is brilliant to have it so close. You may wish to visit a few times to try out a number of the great cafés and restaurants and find all the historic details tucked away in the maze-like streets. If you are here on a Friday, make sure you peruse the bustling market stalls where you can purchase local wines, honey and handicrafts. In the summer, many village events and open-air music concerts are also held in the squares and at the church, which are great fun.
There are many more villages and towns which you can visit in this beautiful region, such as Lacoste, 9km away, Roussillon, 7km away and the larger town of Apt, 10km away.

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. It feels both 'removed from it all' while also ideally located in the Luberon with access to beautiful villages. The well equipped kitchen, many beautiful relaxing areas and artistic touches in the house were particularly appreciated. Extra special thanks to the property managers who were very welcoming and professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was in order.

Just idyllic
We had a great 2 weeks stay in this peaceful retreat. The house is totally tranquil, in the oaks and lavender. The outside spaces are lovely for unwinding, and inside the decor is characterful and very homely. We couldn't have found a better place to get some rest and recharge the batteries. And we were very happy to use the piano. Highly recommended!
