Set in captivating Provençal gardens with lovely views, enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of Maison Rose whilst being less than ten minutes' drive from the enchanting town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
The glorious grounds are a real delight with towering cypresses and swaying pines looking on. The inviting 24m long swimming pool is framed by pretty lawns dotted with olive trees. You can play boules with family and friends or a game of table tennis, before lazing in the outdoor lounge with an aperitif. Long meals can be enjoyed al-fresco taking in the peaceful surroundings around you.
Sleeping a maximum of 10 guests, the charm of this homely abode continues inside with bright rooms, boastful artwork and characterful features alongside a modern ambience of comfort and relaxation. A light-filled reception room, a cosy TV salon and an impressive kitchen-diner all offer ample space for large groups whilst each of the seven welcoming bedrooms has its own bath or shower room as well as air-conditioning.
There are walking paths leading directly from Maison Rose and beyond and the most energetic can wander into St-Rémy in about forty minutes, or it’s just a short drive. Discover some of the region’s loveliest places to eat in St-Rémy, from Michelin starred restaurants to atmospheric cafes under the plane trees, admire the artist galleries across the town and follow Van Gogh’s famous art trail, after all this is where he painted ‘Starry Night’ amongst other masterpieces.
Les Alpilles Natural Park offers undulating vistas of mountains, olive groves, vineyards and rolling hills, a delight for cyclists, horse-riders, rock-climbers or simply those wishing to enjoy a round of golf in beautiful surroundings. Visit the marvellous cities of Avignon and Arles or stay closer to home and drive to some of Provence’s archetypal villages such as Les Baux de Provence and Maussane.
That said, despite this vast and enchanting region to explore, you may find it hard to leave the peaceful setting of Maison Rose with its pretty and restful gardens.

Location
About the surrounding area of Maison RoseSet in Les Alpilles Natural Park, Maison Rose is located in a peaceful setting just outside the charming Provençal town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. You could walk there in around forty minutes or otherwise it’s less than 10 minutes by car, approx. 3km away.
St-Rémy is a charming town and especially popular with food lovers with a lovely Wednesday morning market and a wonderful range of restaurants, bistros, pretty cafes and wine bars. On selected Sunday mornings in the summer many of the artists who live here gather to display their art along the ‘Route des Artistes’ or at other times you can visit the charming art galleries along the narrow lanes of St-Rémy. Van Gogh fans can follow the artist’s trail around the town and visit St Paul de Mausole where Van Gogh stayed for a large amount of time.
Other idyllic villages include one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, Les Baux de Provence with it’s pretty castle and charming squares and Maussane-les-Alpilles where you will find some of France’s original olive oil mills. The city of Avignon is also just a short drive where you can discover some of the amazing UNESCO world heritage sites and lovely markets, restaurants and bars.
Walkers and hikers can follow lovely trails across the surrounding countryside, including paths from very near Maison Rose, discovering landscapes so typical of this region with undulating hills, vineyards and olive groves. Horse-riding is also popular across this region and there are various golf courses with a fair distance, including Domaine de Manville around twenty minutes away by car.
Arles is another fantastic city to explore with museums, art galleries and yet more history connected to Vincent Van Gogh. It’s also the gateway to the enchanting Camargue region with wild horses, lagoons, pink flamingos and vast beaches.
Van Gogh’s Gordes is yet another of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ or visit one of the many other archetypal Provençal villages of the magical Luberon region, most reached within an hour.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere are some lovely walks across this region, including pretty paths that lead from very near Maison Rose itself. Cycling and horse-riding are also popular across Les Alpilles and the most adventurous can enjoy rock climbing nearby or in the Luberon region.
Head down to St-Rémy, see all the wonderful fresh produce at the Farmers market on a Wednesday morning or explore the little art galleries and charming shops in the narrow lanes. Follow the Van Gogh trail, visiting places in the town where the artist created some of his most famous works. Glanum, just to the south of St-Rémy, is also an incredible archaeological site to visit nearby.
Head to the Pont du Gard near Nimes for a lovely family day out whether it’s a picnic by the river in this incredible setting or hiring kayaks along the Gard. Canoe and kayak lovers should also visit L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue where you can paddle along the River Sorgue. The town itself is especially great on a Sunday morning with the popular brocante, an antique’s market, that takes place weekly.
If you were hoping to visit Avignon with little ones, one option is to take the road train through the city on a tour before stopping off in a lovely restaurant for lunch.
Animal lovers in the meantime will love the hundreds of species at Zoo Barben, about one hour away by car.

Stunning!
What a beautiful house and pool - fantastic kitchen. We loved our stay here and the area is beautiful. Very private and quiet but also close to town.
