Nestled in over an acre of landscaped parkland and just 1.5km from glamourous Saint-Tropez you will find Villa des Canoubiers. Here you can split your time between lazy afternoons at the villa and days out exploring Saint-Tropez and other nearby beaches and towns, it is hard to imagine a better home for a holiday on the French Riviera!

This spacious, contemporary home is spread over 2 floors and can sleep up to 14 guests making it perfect for a trip with the whole family or a group of friends.

On the ground floor you will enter the large, open-plan living area where your party can come together in the evenings and dine at the roomy table overlooking the garden. As well as the relaxing atmosphere, the villa is also equipped with all of the modern conveniences you could need, including Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and satellite TVs.

Two of the boutique-style, en-suite bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, opening out to the garden where you can sip your morning coffee and wait for everyone to awake. A further two bedrooms are upstairs on the first floor, both with a balcony or terrace and en-suite bathrooms. The final three bedrooms are located away from the main home in an independent guest house; this set up usually suits those travelling together as a group but wishing for a little peace and quiet too.

If you visit during the summer months you'll be sure to spend plenty of time outdoors making the most of the wonderful weather. The garden at the villa is a great spot for sunbathing with a good book and soaking in the stunning sea views. You will find everything you need to spend all day making memories outside as there is a boules court, fitness equipment, private swimming pool and covered seating areas available. Surrounding the garden there are also vast grounds and woodlands which guests have access to for walking, cycling and picnics.

The nearest town, Saint-Tropez, is well-known as a hub for celebrity visitors who flock there for the pristine beaches, designer shopping and fine-dining restaurants. There are also small sun-drenched coves, historical buildings and a harbour filled with traditional fishing boats to discover. In the warmer months you will also be treated to open air concerts, art shows and boating regattas which take part all over town.

If you would like to head out to another town for the day then Sainte-Maxime is a lovely place to visit and is only 17km away. This former fishing village still retains plenty of charm and character which you will see as you wander the winding streets down to the picturesque harbour. History lovers will enjoy seeing the defensive tower, the ancient churches and the folk museum where you can learn about day-to-day life in times gone by. In May each year there is also a two-day celebration in honour of the local saint, if visiting at this time you can see the stunning processions in which locals wear traditional dress and carry floral displays. There are also festivities and markets held at this time. In addition to historical attractions, Sainte-Maxime has some fantastic beaches, often less crowded than those in Saint-Tropez, a favourite is Nartelle Beach.

The French Riviera is a delightful place to spend a holiday. With countless towns and villages to visit, beautiful beaches and breath-taking surrounding landscapes this is an unbeatable location for a trip with friends or family. Villa des Canoubiers is a mere 1.5km from the heart of Saint-Tropez but sits within a leafy hamlet where you can walk in the extensive fields and woodlands which surround the house.

There are lots of picture-perfect beaches on the peninsula to chose from. For a quieter, natural beach you could try Plage de la Moutte which is next to forests and a number of hiking trails. If you would prefer one of the luxury beach clubs then Plage de Pampelonne is the place to go, book a spot at this high-end beach club for comfy sun loungers, great facilities and waiter service for all the drinks you could desire.

The port and the beaches also offer boat trips around the coastline which make for a memorable day out, offering some incredible views. Saint-Tropez also has plenty to offer a little further inland away from the beaches. The historic town has a fine art museum, a staggering Citadel and maze-like cobbled streets to explore if you are seeking shade in the heat of the day. When it comes to shopping, there is everything here, from traditional markets and artisan crafts shops to designer stores.

If you fancy trying out some water sports then head over to Riviera water sports, 10km away. The centre has lots on offer including windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and wakeboarding. The centre is also really close to Port-Grimaud which is a lovely town to visit and is known as the little Venice of Provence. This pretty town is connected by a network of canals just like Venice so you could opt to book on to a boat tour or simply visit for dinner with a view over the water.

Region

Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.

However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.

Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
