Sitting in a leafy spot in the hills looking out over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez is Villa Pasteur. This home is the perfect place to stay for a trip with friends or family and you will find plenty to see and do close by from relaxing on unspoilt beaches to wandering around medieval streets.

The villa is a spacious, five-bedroom home. The living areas are vast and all connect to each other to create a sociable space to gather in the evenings for a glass of wine. As you enter the house you will find yourself in delightful surroundings, decorated in a calming neutral palette with warming golds and browns in the soft furnishings and art work. The living room boasts comfortable sofas and access out on to the garden, while the fully-fitted kitchen and adjoining dining room are ideal for enjoying lunch together. If you really wish to unwind and treat yourself then why not book a chef to prepare sumptuous meals for your party.

There are five boutique-style bedrooms to choose from at the villa when you wish to retire for the night. One of these is an expansive master suite with a large private terrace and a chic bathroom. The other four bedrooms are equally lovely with crisp linens and en-suite bathrooms. You are sure to sleep well in any of these air-conditioned rooms.

Outside, the garden is a continuation of the living space as there are lots of different areas for sitting and enjoying the sun. There are outdoor armchairs, sun loungers and a stunning al-fresco dining area on the terrace. The garden is a tranquil haven where guests can soak in the jacuzzi or sip a drink at the bar area, while those feeling more active can go for a swim in the private pool or make use of the fitness equipment.

As the home shares its management with the nearby exclusive 5* hotel, you will find everything you need on hand from a concierge service and champagne on arrival to Wi-Fi throughout. You are also able to have breakfast prepared for you at the villa or stroll down to the hotel and tuck in the tasty breakfast buffet. Guests may also access the brilliant facilities at the hotel such as the spa, gym and gourmet restaurant.

You will find a wider range of eateries in Saint-Tropez town which is a mere 4km away, meaning you can be tucking in to a croissant and a coffee in a street-side café in no time at all. Saint-Tropez is famous for being a hub for celebrities and socialites who flock here by yacht in the summer months to enjoy the exquisite restaurants, luxury beach clubs and the unrivalled designer shopping.

There is much more to Saint-Tropez however and the town is steeped in history which can be seen as you wander around the narrow, maze-like streets of the old town which was once defended by its medieval citadel. When you visit you can explore the town squares, ancient churches and numerous museums before stopping off to see the pretty fishing boats at the port.

When you wish to visit a beach, you will be spoiled for choice when on holiday in Saint-Tropez. The gorgeous Bouillabaisse beach is just 2km away and the well-known Pampelonne beach is an 8km drive away. If you would prefer to get out on to the water then head over to Riviera water sports which is 7km away and offers sailing lessons, kayaking and windsurfing. The water sports centre is located in the unique, canal town of Port-Grimaud which is much like a little Venice on the Riviera and is all connected by boats and is a lovely place to visit for dinner.

Located in between the hillside village of Gassin and the glamorous town of Saint-Tropez, Villa Pasteur is a perfect base for exploring more of the French Riviera.

The nearest amenities can be found at the hotel which guests have access to. There you can visit for breakfast or book a table at the fine dining restaurant for the evening. During the day you can make use of the luxury spa and indulge in a massage or a facial before lounging in the relaxation area. There is also a gym and personal trainers available for those who enjoy a workout.

The town of Saint-Tropez evokes a feeling of exclusivity and is known as the playground of celebrities and socialites. This fantastic town is set just 4km away from the villa and there is plenty to see and do there.

One of the main reasons that people visit this area is to spend time on the beaches along the breath-taking coastline. Some of the closest beaches are under 2km away from the house and one of these is Bouillabaisse beach. This beach is less crowded than some of those in the heart of town and has clear water, soft sand and a beach club with comfy sun loungers and drinks available at the bar in the summer. The most popular and longest beach in the area is Pampelonne beach which is 8km around the coast and is a lovely place to spend a day.

Aside from its beaches, Saint-Tropez is a great town for a spot of shopping; there are a wide range of shops here from small artisan stores to chic designer boutiques. The town also has some brilliant markets and in the summer months there is one held on most days. One of the best is held in the atmospheric Place des Lices on a Tuesday and Saturday and sells fresh herbs, local sausages and cheese and delicious pastries. You will also find clothes markets and fish markets around town.

A lesser-known side to Saint Tropez are its rich historical and cultural attractions; the town is topped by a medieval fortress known as the Citadel and the winding streets of the old town are dotted with historic churches such as the Chappelle Sainte Anne. There are also lots of museums here like the cinema museum and a museum of modern art. As night falls there are a wealth of eateries to choose from; you could eat like the locals at a seafood restaurant on the port or book a fine-dining restaurant serving seasonal tasting menus.

Aside from central Saint-Tropez, there are plenty more places you can visit close by. You could head in to the hills to explore the pretty village of Gassin which is 6km away, drive over to Port-Grimaud which is a unique village connected by canals 8km away. The large seaside town of Sainte-Maxime is another great place to visit for the day and is 14km away.
