Gather by the firepit as you gaze at the sea views in the distance or admire the vistas from the poolside terrace. L’Air Du Temps is a stunning holiday villa in the heights of Bandol, just a short drive from this pretty French Riviera town and its glorious beaches.

With a contemporary vibe throughout, this modern home sleeps up to 8 guests across its four bedrooms and bathrooms, all beautifully designed with style in mind. That said, it’s the vast living-dining and kitchen space that will truly take your breath away with its elegant furnishings, pulldown cinema screen and sliding doors leading straight to the poolside terraces.

As well as the wonderful swimming pool, a summer kitchen and dining terrace complete the outdoor space, just perfect for feasting al-fresco as the sun sets. That said, you may prefer to drive down to Bandol in the evening, only 3km by car, to soak up the ambience of this authentic French Riviera town.

Whether strolling by the harbourfront, enjoying the bustling markets or dining out in a range of restaurants, Bandol is a delightful place to spend time. Then there’s the beaches too, the most popular being the pretty bay at Plage de Renécros, or head to one of the picturesque seaside resorts nearby such as Sanary-sur-Mer, La Seyne-sur-Mer’s Les Sablettes and even gorgeous Cassis, the gateway to the Parc national des Calanques, a paradise for hikers.

Walkers can also discover part of the coastal trail, the ’Sentier du Littoral’, which passes through Bandol or drive to the Janas forest, known as the ‘green lung of Toulon’, for more outdoor adventures and breathtaking scenery. Toulon itself is a fantastic day out, loved for its atmospheric markets, rich maritime heritage and sandy beach in the charming Mourillon neighbourhood of the city.

L’Air Du Temps enjoys wonderful sea and hill views, set in the heights of Bandol in the Var department of the French Riviera.

It’s located in a residential area with easy access to the road that connects Bandol to Sanary-sur-Mer and beyond, also home to a supermarket and petrol station (within 1km). Restaurants and other amenities can be found in Bandol itself, down by the coast around a 10-minute drive away.

Bandol is a charming seaside resort with an authentic ambience. Stroll along the marina lined with restaurants and towering palm trees and admire the many boats before wandering to the little market on Place de la Liberté selling regional delights including seafood. A larger market takes over the quayside on Tuesday mornings and there is a great choice of restaurants, cafes and bars dotted throughout the town.

The ’Sentier du Littoral’ coastal trail passes through Bandol and continues on to Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, a paradise for keen walkers. You will find summer watersports on many of the beaches in and around Bandol as well as boat trips to the unique, artistic and private island, Île de Bendor. Beach lovers note that Plage de Renécros is one of the town’s most scenic bays.

Drive to Sanary-sur-Mer (8km) for its characterful harbour and weekly market, look out for catch of the day in the fishing town of La Seyne-sur-Mer (15km) and spend time at the gorgeous beach at Les Sablettes (19km), home to atmospheric evening markets in the height of the summer. Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer (23km) is another superb spot for walks, as is La Forêt de Janas, known as the ‘green lung’ of Toulon and also loved by mountain bikers and horse-riding enthusiasts.

Wind and kite surfers often head to one of the beaches around Six-Fours-les-Plages such as Plage de Bonnegrâce and Plage de la Coudoulière. All along this coastline and beyond you will find a wide range of watersports.

The maritime city of Toulon (18km) is another great day out with its old quarter, wonderful markets, restaurants, harbour and boat tours. The sandy beach in the city neighbourhood of Mourillon is popular with families or elsewhere there are cable car rides from Toulon up to the top of Mont Faron.

Heading west towards Marseille, Cassis (25km) is a picture-perfect fishing village, a fine spot for lunch out or a little wine tasting. It’s the gateway to the Parc national des Calanques – find out from the tourist office about which hiking trails are best suited to you or discover the incredible landscapes by boat.

Wine lovers also note that Bandol is well known for its AOC wines, especially the region’s excellent rosé.

This part of the French Riviera is fantastic for families with a wide range of beaches, green spaces as well as pretty seaside resorts and the city of Toulon to explore.

Starting off in Bandol, discover the pretty bay, Plage de Renécros, a popular place for families, before wandering to the harbourside with its little play areas, summer amusements and restaurants.

There are so many beaches dotted along this coastline from the occasionally windy shores around Six-Fours-les-Plages which are fantastic for watersport enthusiasts to the more sedate beach at Les Sablettes, around 20km away, with its atmospheric evening markets in the height of the summer. From Bandol you can take a seasonal boat trip across to the private island, Île de Bendor, for more gorgeous beaches and water-based activities.

Find a popular tree-top adventure centre in the Janas forest, an area known as the ‘green lung’ of Toulon, or visit the city itself for a boat tour of its harbour, a city tour on the tourist road train or to take the cable car up to Mont Faron.

Security deposit €5000 charged to client’s credit card as a pre-authorisation one month before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

Minimum stay 7 nights in July and August. 3 nights during all other periods.
Changeover day Saturday. All other changeover days on request.
