Tucked away amidst the picturesque Bretan coastal landscapes, Maison Safran is an enchanting four-bedroom villa accommodating up to ten guests in charming, light-filled elegance.

Stepping through the front door, guests are greeted by a spacious living room bathed in natural light which streaming in from large, south-facing windows looking out on the terrace. Plush sitting areas invite relaxation and the open-plan layout which links in the kitchen ensures seamless interaction between guests whether their cooking up a holiday feast, putting their feet up for a well-earned nap, or sipping wine on the terrace.

On the ground floor you’ll also find the first of four bedrooms, the master, which boasts a queen-sized bed and en suite. Ascending to the upper floor reveals three more bedrooms all made their own by creative wallpaper and splashes of idiosyncratic colour. One room features a double bed, and the two remaining rooms each contain three single beds. A bathroom and separate WC complete the level.  

With an emphasis on outdoor living, Maison Safron’s terrace and garden draws you out into its lush greenery and ample arrangements for lounging or al fresco dining. With a purpose-designed barbecue area, chic terrace furnishings and a bubbling hot tub, guests won’t want to entertain themselves anywhere else!

Given the villa’s proximity to charming villages and pristine Atlantic beaches, it is the perfect setting for a family holiday or for a group of friends to escape and rejuvenate.

Well situated in a residential area on the Bretan coast, Maison Safron is not short of nearby attractions and adventures. Nor is the villa without convenience. The local supermarket (500m, 2-minute drive) ensures you’ll never have to travel far to stock up. Close by can also be found a restaurant, bakery, café, bicycle rental and a sandy beach.

The rocky and rugged surrounding coastline proves an excellent landscape to explore, full of coves, beaches and quaint fishing villages. Set out for the Saint Laurent peninsula (6-minute drive, 25-minute walk) to find spectacular views of the wave-swept shore and open ocean, including a lighthouse, dunes and even Neolithic remains.

Slightly farther afield you can find numerous other prominent attractions, including the iconic Pointe Saint Mathieu lighthouse (35-minute drive) standing tall on the western tip of Brittany, and the remnants of the Fort de Bertheaume – a coastal fortress with a rich history.

At only a 45-minute drive from the villa you can reach the wonderful city of Brest, which styles itself as the city which feels like the ends of the earth. This vibrant maritime city is nestled in one of France’s most stunning bays and is considered a Breton-style San Francisco thanks to its sloping grid pattern, distinctive downtown feel and central harbour. Wander along the left bank from Brest’s National Botanical Conservatory to the castle. But don’t forget to taste the local cuisine while you’re in Brest, the city is renown for its oyster bars, restaurants and gastropubs.

Maison Safron’s expansive garden is designed with families in mind. The large lawn area is perfect for playing games and boasts a large well-constructed wooden swing-set and cubby house which even includes its own slide.

The villa’s close proximity to beaches and open stretches of wild coastline makes it endlessly explorable. Take off for a day of beachcombing, building sand castles, playing in the surf and creating adventures among the various coves, peninsulas and pristine beaches. Within 10-minutes’ drive from Maison Safron can also be found a surf school and sailing school.

The city of Brest (45-minute drive) offers up a bevy of family-friendly activities, such as the Océanopolis aquarium, one of the largest in Europe, or the overhead cable-car for unrivalled views of the harbour-hearted city.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €500 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time 4.00 p.m. - 7.00 p.m.
Energy costs included? Yes.
Linen & towels included? Yes.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €30 per pet will apply (payable locally).
Other Ts and Cs Weddings, stag/hen parties and any special events are not allowed.
Changeover day Saturday from approximately mid-May to late-September. Flexible during all other periods.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Smoking Allowed? Outside only.
Minimum stay 7 nights from approximately mid-May to late-September. 3 nights during all other periods.
