Made utterly picturesque by its panoramic ocean views, Maison Des Details Bleus is a delightful three-bedroom villa accommodating up to eight guests. This holiday haven with a front-row position on a coastal promontory offers unbeatable sea views and the perfect blend of traditional French charm and indoor-outdoor living.

Stepping through the front door guests are welcomed by a warm and inviting ambience provided by the natural light flooding through panoramic windows and the villa’s walls of golden granite. The spacious living area boasts plush furnishings and a uniform décor of grey and teal that perfectly reflects the rocky coastline seen through the windows.

The adjacent open-plan kitchen is another light-filled space where culinary enthusiasts are encouraged to whip up everything from a summer salad to a holiday feast for family and friends. The kitchen’s bevy of modern appliances and ready access to the villa’s two dining tables makes it a seamless cooking experience from start to finish.

Ascending to the upper level reveals three tastefully appointed bedrooms, each a sanctuary to themselves. Two bedrooms boast double-sized beds, while a third bedroom contains four single beds. All bedrooms, and the stylish bathroom and WC, provide stunning ocean views so that no guest can ever forget how well-positioned this villa truly is.

Such a view inevitably leads outside to the villa’s private terrace and fenced garden. Dine al fresco in the sea breeze, or lounge about on one of the deckchairs with nothing to do but read a book and gaze out to the horizon.

Despite the villa’s secluded position on the cape, local amenities are close at hand. In the nearby town of Penmarch (8-minute drive) can be found a selection of supermarkets, restaurants and shops.

The rocky granite coast jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean has proven perilous to sailors over the centuries, hence the towering lighthouse known as Phare d’Eckmühl, which is easily visible from the villa. At 65m tall, Phare d’Eckmühl is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world. It is open to the public – if you’re up to climb the 307 steps. Although this wild stretch of coast is rife with rocky outcrop, it is also pleasantly interrupted by sandy beaches for your enjoyment.

For those looking to explore this unique part of Brittany, the town of Pont l’Abbé is only a 20-minute drive away. Described by the 19th century writer Maupassant as “the Breton of all the towns of Breton Brittany,” Point l’Abbé boasts a castle, market hall and numerous scenic walks.

The city of Quimper (37-minute drive) offers a number of interesting sights, including the Cathedral of Saint-Coretin, tropical gardens and numerous museums and galleries. The area, known particularly for its apples, contains several options to visit cider mills and taste the best of Brittany. Try Cidrerie Manoir du Kinkiz to explore their wonderful range of ciders, brandies and apply juices.

For more high-octane and fuel-injected fun, Bretagne Karting (24-minute drive) offers go-karting on its 700m long circuit and paintball in a two-hectare field. Both activities making a fun day out for the whole family.

In the neighbouring fishing village of Guilvinec (13-minute drive) can be found a wide selection of water sports, including paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €400 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time 4.00 p.m. - 7.00 p.m.
Departure time 10.00 a.m.
Energy costs included? Yes.
Linen & towels included? Yes.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €25 per pet per week will apply (payable locally).
Other Ts and Cs Weddings, stag/hen parties and any special events are not allowed.
Changeover day Saturday from approximately mid-May to late-September. Flexible during all other periods.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Smoking Allowed? Outside only.
Minimum stay 7 nights from approximately mid-May to start-November, and from late-December to start-January. 3 nights during all other periods.
Heating costs included? Yes.
Tax French Visitors Tax is included.
