Set in the heart of 25 hectares of land, with stunning views over the rolling countryside of the Lot-et-Garonne region, is Chateau Agenais. This ten-bedroom property offers a peaceful escape and is an ideal holiday rental for small and large groups alike.

The chateau, actually two independent dwellings, is set around a private courtyard - with swimming pool, main house and guest cottage, all accessible from the beautifully manicured lawns. There is also a fantastic covered terrace for outdoor dining.

Fully restored over the last 20 years, it now boasts the grandeur of stone vaulted ceilings and monumental fireplaces, and yet it is still extremely comfortable and homely.

The chateau is ideally located on the outskirts of the charming riverside village Penne-d'Agenais, with its Notre-Dâme de Peyragude basilica and countryside views.

The scenic town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot is nearby, known for its charming historic centre, inviting shops and twice-weekly market. The hilltop village of Pujols, with its 16th-century houses and flower-filled gardens is also close by and recognised as one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages'.

Spend your days canoeing or kayaking on the Lot River, exploring vibrant market towns and visiting surrounding vineyards, producing some of France's finest wines.

This home is a part of our Great Value and Heritage Collection!

This is a historic home, and as such:

  • It has probably been standing for over 100 years, which means it's full of historic value and charm but it may also have one or two quirks!
  • Some of the decor and furnishings may not be brand new, but that should not detract from your holiday experience in this unique setting that allows you to take a step back in time!
