The stunning Villa Imma, an immaculately presented 6 bedroom holiday accommodation, overlooking the stunning lake Vrana, is the perfect choice for a relaxing and peaceful family holiday. Sleeping up to 12 guests and featuring a spacious garden, private pool with whirlpool, gym, and children’s playground, Villa Imma is ideally suited for families searching for a safe, luxurious, and idyllic getaway.

The exterior of Villa Imma pops against the lush green landscapes in an exotic shade of lemon, and the interior is no less exciting. With fresh, white decor throughout, the villa keeps things interesting with accents of scarlett in the kitchen, teal and soft grey in the living areas and deep sunflower and peach and lime in the bedrooms. There are plenty of areas to relax, dine and hang out - including a basement room complete with bar area, grill station, pool table and poker table.

On the ground floor you’ll find a cosy living area with comfy, modern furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, shower room and gym area. Two of the bedrooms are on this floor; one double room and one featuring bunk beds - both beautifully light and airy. The other four bedrooms (all doubles) are on the first floor, along with another dining area and kitchen, and two bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bathtub; making Villa Imma ideal for two or more families who are holidaying together.

The top floor terrace offers a stunning view of both Lake Vrana and the pool area, which features both an adult and child’s pool, as well as a whirlpool for 6 guests. In the grounds of this beautiful villa you’ll find an undercover dining area with handsomely-crafted wooden furniture, as well as seating areas, sun loungers and parasols. Young children will enjoy the small playground area, which features a swing set as well as a small seesaw and slide, and there is plenty of space for running and playing, all away from the pool area, and safely fenced-in

Villa Imma’s location next to Lake Vrana nature park means you are in for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. There are plenty of beautiful natural sights to explore, well-established bicycle paths to enjoy, and local wildlife to discover. The villa is ideally located near to the picturesque towns of Zadar and Sibenik, where you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants serving up traditional Croatian fare, as well as being near to some of the stunning beaches along the Adriatic coast.

Sibenik, the ‘gateway to the Kornati Islands’  is an often underrated Croatian gem, and boasts historical wonders, uncrowded coastline and amazing wine - not to mention being one of the locations for the filming of the popular TV show, Game of Thrones. You’ll find the famous Cathedral of St James here, as well as the city museum, the impressive Franciscan Church and Monastery, and St Michael’s Castle, all stunning pieces of architecture that are well-worth visiting.

Fantastic local seafood is always on the menu in this part of the world, including Adriatic lobster, sea bass, squid and langoustines. Be sure to wash it all down with some local Sibenik wine! Winery Rak has been a family run operation in the area since 1960 and uses Babic and Marastine grapes to produce its white, red and rose wines. The small-scale production of this winery means it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to sample these wines in the UK, so once you’ve sampled their wares in their dedicated tasting room, be sure to snare a bottle to take home!

If you decide to head to nearby Zadar, be sure to visit the town’s famous Sea Organ. Designed by Nikola Basic in 2005, this impressive installation features 35 organ pipes which emit otherworldly tones determined by the waves. Come after dark if you can and you’ll be treated to a stunning light show as well! The ‘Greeting To The Sun’ installation features 300 multi-layered glass plates set in a circle and synchronised with the same wave energy. Beneath the glass are solar modules that spring into life at sunset, using lights to simulate our solar system. It really is a sight worth seeing!

Region

The Zadar region, anchored by the vibrant city of Zadar, boasts a rich history, breathtaking natural beauty, and a cultural tapestry that dates back millennia. Situated along Croatia's stunning Dalmatian coast, and shaped by the dramatic Velebit mountain range, Zadar is a unique destination offering a captivating array of experiences.

Zadar city is known for its ancient Roman ruins, white sand beach, and rugged coastline. Take a wander through the world of the Old Town's labyrinthine streets, which are a wonder to explore, brimming with historical treasures. Make sure to stop at the Church of St. Donatus, an architectural masterpiece and a prominent example of Byzantine construction and one of the most famous pre-Romanesque churches in Croatia.

Zadar's architectural prowess isn't limited to its historical buildings; it also embraces modern art installations. The Sea Organ, designed by architect Nikola Bašić, is an ingenious creation consisting of underwater pipes and chambers that produce hauntingly beautiful sounds as the waves of the Adriatic Sea wash over it. It's a serene place to watch the sunset, often accompanied by an equally impressive light show from the nearby Greeting to the Sun installation, which comes alive with vibrant colours after dusk.

The city's waterfront promenade, dotted with cafes, bars, and restaurants, provides the perfect setting for relaxed evenings. You can pass away the hours while savouring a leisurely meal and enjoying the sea views with watch boats sailing past. Don't forget to sample the local cuisine, which includes fresh seafood, pasticada (a traditional beef stew), and the world-famous Pag cheese. Pair your meal with a glass of local wine or rakija, a strong fruit brandy, to complete the culinary experience.

The Zadar region is renowned for its proximity to a collection of stunning islands, each with its own unique character. Ugljan, often referred to as the "Green Island," is known for its lush vegetation and charming fishing villages. The island offers a serene escape from the bustle of city life, with numerous opportunities for hiking, cycling, and exploring unspoiled beaches.

Dugi Otok, or the "Long Island," is a true gem of unspoiled natural beauty. The island is known for its rugged coastline, pristine coves, and the famous Saharun Beach, with its white sands and crystalclear waters. It’s also home to Telascica Nature Park, a protected area that encompasses stunning cliffs, saltwater lakes, and a diverse range of flora and fauna.

Back on the mainland, and just a couple of hours out of the city you’ll find one of the most renowned natural attractions in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the park is a land of cascading waterfalls, interconnected emerald lakes, and lush forests, with a network of well-maintained trails that guide visitors through this natural wonder. Wooden boardwalks allow you to get up close to the waterfalls, making it a family-friendly destination.

The Zadar region offers more than just natural beauty. The local markets, such as Zadar's Green Market, provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in Croatian culture. Here, you can explore stalls filled with fresh produce, local crafts, and artisanal products, experiencing the flavours and craftsmanship of the region. Zadar is also home to a variety of unique traditions and cultural festivals. Local celebrations, like the annual regatta of traditional boats or performances of 'Klapa' a cappella singing are both integral parts of the region's cultural identity.

The Zadar region is a microcosm of Croatia's diverse and enchanting way of life, with something to offer everyone that visits. It's a place where history, nature, and culture converge to create a harmonious and multifaceted destination. Whether you're hiking through national parks, swimming near waterfalls, exploring ancient cities, or savouring traditional cuisine, the Zadar region promises an unforgettable experience for all. To visit Zadar is to step into the heart of Croatia and experience its multifaceted charm.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Villa Imma offers plenty for families with children, including bunk beds, well-covered outdoor dining areas, and a small area with playground equipment. There is a separate child’s pool next to the main adult pool, where kids can enjoy their own space to splash and play, although parents should be aware that there is no fence or barrier around the pool area.

Children will enjoy visiting the surrounding nature park, where there are plenty of areas to explore and enjoy. If you choose to venture into nearby Sibenik, the Aquarium-Terrarium is well worth a visit. This small zoo and aquarium is located down a narrow street in the old town area and easily missed if you don’t keep your eyes open! Here you’ll find fish, turtles, crocodiles, snakes and reptiles, which is sure to delight the younger ones (older children or teenagers might be less than impressed), but it’s not costly, only takes about 30 minutes to get round, and can be a welcome escape from the summer heat.

Barone Fortress is another child-friendly destination if you’re holidaying with children and is one of the historical sites most geared-up for kids! The fortress offers a child-friendly environment in general, with a ship-like playground and loads of space to safely run around and explore, while the adults can enjoy a drink and the beautiful view over Sibenik. There’s a souvenir shop that stocks kid-friendly gifts that they’ll love, such as fortress colouring books and toy shields and swords. There’s a cafe bar at Barone Fortress, so allow approximately an hour and a half of your day to see the fortress and partake in some refreshments at the end.
