About the surrounding area of Villa FilipThis stunning villa is nestled in a small village called Kastel, close to one of the most popular tourist resorts in the northern stria - the city of Buje, just a short drive from the magical local beaches.
Northern Istria is known for having a strong Italian flavour, sumptuous seafood specialisms, local and small town charm and stunning coastal scenery.
Kastel offers a slice of local Istrian culture, small family-run tavernas, local bustling markets, stunning coastal cliffy scenery as well as intriguing history.
Close by Buje is known for its pre-historic hill forts, Roman ruins and medieval castle. This rich and fertile region is also a busy centre for wine and olive oil production.
Whether it be visiting the beautiful bell tower dating back to the sixteenth century, trailing the wine roads or imbibing the atmosphere at the trendiest Istrian eateries enjoying local wines in the Stari Kaštel restaurant located at the top of a hill in Kaštel, guests will marvel at the blend of history, local style and flavours and romantic views across the salt fields in the Gulf of Piran.

But, tear yourself away from the Istrian coast, through the vineyards, olive groves, and dense forests, and you will discover brilliantly preserved medieval towns and villages, where cobbled streets reveal quaint galleries, sweet squares and sea-views.

Best Suited For: All AgesIstria is simply brimming with activities for the whole family - there is so much to do, and everyone’s needs are sure to be met! The local restaurants and cuisine are very family friendly, and great emphasis is put on slowing down, enjoying good food and family time!
This is one of the prettiest and least spoilt parts of Croatia - full of stunning coastland and picturesque towns with beautiful harbours and local markets.
Among our pick for family friendly activities would be, Glavani Park with its tree top obstacle courses. Catering for various ages and abilities, children will enjoy this region from a great height!
Being a coastal region, Istria also does aquariums quite well! Umag, Rovinj, Poreg and Pula all have aquariums, showcasing fish from the Adriatic Sea. Aquarium Pula is a popular Istria aquarium, which is located inside an old Austro-Hungarian fortress.
The Istria coastline is fabulous, full of rocky bays and shady pine trees with wonderful opportunities for water sports and diving. Hiring bikes is a great way to explore the coastline and coastal paths, whilst there are several water parks in the region such as Aqua Park Istrialand for a great day out on slides and chutes!
Back at the villa, there are the sumptuous gardens to play in; safely enclosed lawns, shaded and covered outdoor dining area, the wonderful pool and array of al fresco dining spots. The airy and spacious interiors and serene air conditioned bedrooms are ideal for a family holiday, whilst teens will enjoy the games room, plasma screens and general party vibe of this effervescent home!
