The Konavle region is also famous for its quality olives, olive oil and a wide variety of local produce.

Villa Lume is built over two floors with plenty of character and added modern touches. The main living space is open plan in design and flooded with light from the wall of glass doors that open to a terrace. The opposite wall is home to a very large piece of modern art. It is just brilliant and very striking. A sleek, dazzling white kitchen sits at one end with stainless steel appliances that will please the chef in your group. A huge corner sofa sits next to this, blending perfectly with the cool grey upholstered dining chairs. Guests can also dine alfresco on the terrace with extraordinary scenery in front of them. There is also a small bistro table for a glass or two of the region’s delicious wine and a delightful double rocking chair.

Villa Lume enjoys three beautifully finished bedrooms and three gorgeous marbled bathrooms, beautifully fitted with contemporary baths and showers. One of the bedrooms is a gorgeous children’s room with beautiful wallpaper, Minnie and Mickey Mouse artwork, some soft toys and a lovely little tent. There is access to a balcony. The remaining two-bedroom suites enjoy sumptuous kingsize beds, beautifully dressed, terrace access, modern art, and one boasts a feature wall and a sofa.

Villa Lume is located in the fabulous countryside village of Vitaljina within Dubrovnik's sumptuous wine region of Konavle. This pretty village is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, mountains and forests. Yet, it is still within a ten-minute drive of the nearest beaches at Prevlaka and is only 2 km from the border with Montenegro.

The nearby village of Gruda offers some shops and restaurants, and Molunat is just 8 km away. Magical Molunat is sleepy and laid back, positioned by the water's edge with rugged hillsides on either side. This heavenly region offers fortresses to discover, a stunning coastline, the beautiful Bay of Kotor, Cavtat within half an hour and of course, the wonderful medieval town of Dubrovnik. You may even decide to visit gorgeous Montenegro as you are close to the border. Cavtat is very pretty, hemmed in by mountains and lush swathes of pine and cypress forest. It is rich in cultural history, boasts beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, many ancient necropolises sprinkled around and a wonderful promenade lined with fishing boats and artisan shops. Several interesting museums and galleries, including the Bukovac House and Gallery. You will also discover some lovely restaurants where you can sample the delicious local cuisine. The town cemetery on the hill contains the Racic family mausoleum, designed by Ivan Mestrovic. The Epidaurus Festival of Music is held every year in Cavtat.

Mlini is a small, idyllic fishing village located halfway between Cavtat and Dubrovnik with a charming harbour, a lovely pebble and sand beach, cafes and restaurants and the most stunning sunsets. Mlini gets its name from the numerous freshwater wellsprings previously used to power the local flour mills. From Mlini, visitors can take a water ferry to visit Dubrovnik Old Town or visit the island of Lokrum where some of Game of Thrones was filmed. It is the ideal spot for a delicious picnic, wandering around beautiful gardens, or visiting the popular saltwater swimming location named the 'Dead Sea'.

Dubrovnik Old Town is incredibly beautiful. It is extremely popular with its breathtaking natural beauty, rich historical heritage, and a fantastic array of restaurants, cafes, bars, and unique shops. Visitors soak up the romantic atmosphere walking along the Stradun, the main thoroughfare and its narrow streets, admire the countless monuments, taste the delicious city's rich gastronomic delights and be left breathless with its harmonious beauty. You can taste signature dishes such as rozata, kotonjata or black risotto along with local wines. If you are lucky, you will get a table by the harbour. During the summer, visitors can enjoy the Dubrovnik Summer Festival with music, theatre and dance performances.

You should not miss a trip to the stunning Bay of Kotor. It is also known as Boka, the winding bay of the Adriatic Sea and the southernmost point of Dalmatia, bordering Montenegro. The bay's well-preserved Medieval towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast, Prcanj and Herceg Novi, as well as the stunning natural surroundings, are well worth the visit. Kotor's Natural and Culturo-Historical Region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. There are numerous churches and monasteries to visit.

Also of interest are the Herceg Novi Clock Tower, the Spanjola Fortress, Forte Mare Fortress and the Church and Monastery of Our Lady of Snow. You will find it hard to fit everything in during your stay!

Reviews

  • Wonderful

    on 28/08/2022

We have recently returned from our stay at the villa and it was beautiful - very clean and in excellent condition. We were a family of 5, with 3 children aged between 14 - 16 years old, so the facilities of the games room and pool were much enjoyed.

A couple of helpful points for anyone looking to stay in the future:
    - You absolutely need a car to get around if you want to see Croatia, as the villa is not close to any towns/shops
    - We travelled to both Montenegro and Dubrovnik a few times, which were only 30-40 minutes in the car
    - The lower floor of the house has the games room, large double/sofa bed room and garage, but this is not internally connected to the upper floor
    - The road outside is not a main road, but cars do drive along it quite fast, but there is minimal road noise from inside the property

  • Unforgettable trip!

    on 08/07/2022

We stayed for 1 week with 8 of us. The villa is incredibly spacious, everything is a very high standard, well looked after and clean. It was spotless when we arrived and we had help with anything we needed all week. As well as the beautiful villa and accommodating hosts, we were also able to get fresh, home made bread, vegetables and wine from just across the road. The villa made our first visit to Croatia unforgettable and we will 100% be back. Thank you!
