Villa Timara is in the heart of Pitve on the island of Hvar, offering one double bedroom and an open-plan living area that converts to sleep two more on a sofa bed. From your private stone-courtyard entrance, step into a bright space defined by original stone walls, exposed timber beams and countryside views stretching over vineyards, olive groves and the Adriatic Sea.

The ground floor living area flows into a well-equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances and a cosy dining spot framed by verdant panoramas. Unwind on the comfortable seating after a day exploring nearby sandy beaches or discovering the cultural highlights of Jelsa and Hvar town, both within a short drive.

Ascending to the first floor, the vaulted-ceiling bedroom unfurls onto a secluded terrace furnished with loungers and a casual dining set – an idyllic spot for breakfast or an evening glass of Plavac Mali as the sun dips below the coast. Adjacent to it, a contemporary bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower and twin bespoke washbasins.

Location

The island of Hvar unfolds like a living postcard: its turquoise sea laps against white-pebble bays at Pokonji Dol and Dubovica, while the sheltered cove of Malo Zaraće invites sunset swims. A fifteen-minute walk from Jelsa brings you to Mina’s sandy shore, and those keen to explore further can hire a boat or join a tour to the Pakleni Islands’ hidden inlets and bright-blue lagoons.

In Hvar town, meander down cobbled lanes to St Stephen’s Square, dominated by its cathedral and framed by Venetian and Renaissance façades, perfect for people-watching over a morning coffee. History buffs will relish the 13th-century fortress above the harbour, rebuilt in 1579 and now housing a compact museum of island artefacts, as well as panoramic sea views.

The square is also home to the imposing St. Stephen's Cathedral, a beautiful example of Dalmatian Renaissance architecture.

Overlooking the town is the Hvar Fortress, a medieval citadel with a history dating back to the 13th century. The fortress is worthy of a visit for the epic panoramic views that stretch across the town and the Adriatic Sea. The ascent is especially rewarding it at sunset, when you can watch the town's
lights sparkle below.

Heading inland just a few kilometres from Hvar Town, the village of Velo Grablje is famous for its lavender fields. Visit during the summer and you'll be treated to the sight and scent of the vast fields in full bloom. The island is also celebrated for its vineyards and olive groves, producing some of Croatia's best wines and olive oils. Many wineries and oil mills offer tastings and tours, allowing
you to sample these local delights while learning about traditional production methods.

Just a short boat ride from the harbour of Hvar are the Pakleni Islands, a group of islets renowned for their pristine beaches, hidden coves, and emerald sea. The idyllic surroundings offer a tranquil escape from the bustle of the main island, making it a favoured day trip destination. Explore hidden
