- The location of this wonderful holiday home is absolutely fabulous, so close to the National Trust wonder Whistling Sands Beach and the coastal path

The stunning Whistling Sands Place is a gorgeous getaway for two couples or families wanting to explore the spectacular Llyn Peninsula. Set in idyllic surroundings, less than one mile from the Southwest Coast Path and only one and a half miles from one of the peninsula’s most amazing beaches, you will remember your holiday to Whistling Sands Place for a very long time. Most visitors want to return! This luxurious holiday home has been designed brilliantly with soaring beams and exposed stonework sitting beside state-of-the-art fittings. The variety of materials used at Whistling Sands Place is just magical.
Whistling Sands Place enjoys a fabulous location at the far end of the wonderfully scenic Llyn Peninsula. Rugged cliffs, secret sandy coves, and collages of blue where the big skies meet the sea all offer a world of nature. The Llyn Peninsula is known as ‘Snowdon’s arm’, a wildly beautiful peninsula with a rich culture and heritage, traditional farmsteads, little ports, stunning beaches, and dramatic sea cliffs. Little wonder that this magnificent coast is a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The National Trust’s Whistling Sands, otherwise known as Porthoer Beach, is less than one and half miles from the cottage and the glorious Wales Coast Path is within a mile. The picturesque seaside village of Aberdaron is only three and a half miles away, while Morfa Nefyn is ten and the wonderful Abersoch is eleven miles away. The lovely Aberdaron enjoys charming pubs, restaurants, and shops. Within very easy reach is the sacred Bardsey Island.
This dreamy pad is a haven for hunkering down and spending precious time together with the peninsula’s revered wildernesses on the doorstep. The property is enveloped by an immaculate garden and terrace where you can enjoy a tipple or two as you bask in the golden hour sun.
The stunning open plan living space enjoys a double height aspect in part with lofty beams rising high above you together with exposed stonework. A sumptuously stylish corner sofa arrangement sits under a stunning mezzanine area together with a trendy accent chair and a television mounted on tasteful panelling. On the other side of the room is a super cool contemporary kitchen with outstanding appliances, a sociable island, and your dining area. The country kitchen table and the island have received a striking makeover with splashes of blue paint, complementing the gorgeous grey toned floor tiles, the natural toned kitchen, and the mellow stone walls. This spectacular room is flooded in Welsh sunlight which streams through the doors and windows. These also offer wonderful countryside views. You will be lovely and warm with the underfloor heating keeping your toes toasty. A staircase takes you to the attractive mezzanine where the beams soar above, adding a cathedral air to the charming space. This is a gorgeous gallery room that overlooks the kitchen, an inspiring setting with sea views and the perfect place to disappear to with a glass of wine and your holiday book.
One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor, an absolute stunner with a lavish kingsize bed, adorned with luxury linens and beautiful throws and scatter cushions. The room enjoys a wall-mounted television for lazy lie-ins. This is set within a super cool, industrial style open wardrobe system. The ensuite bathroom features a curved bath and overhead shower. Both bathrooms are totally dreamy with gorgeous tiles and the very best fittings.
The gallery leads to the second bedroom upstairs. This is also stunning with a beautifully dressed kingsize bed, a wall-mounted television, countryside, and sea views and an immaculate ensuite with a large walk-in shower.
Outside you will enjoy a large, enclosed patio and garden with outdoor furniture so that you can enjoy the sunshine, the views, and the stars. A barbecue will be available on request. If you are thinking of sharing your holiday with friends or additional family, we also feature the beautiful Whistling Sands Barn in the same location so you could book both! The National Trust beach enjoys a beach side cafe and wonderful sand.

Aberdaron is Land’s End at its most idyllic. This historic fishing village was the last stop for pilgrims on the way to Ynys Enlli, Bardsey Island, the ‘Isle of 20000 Saints’ which is a National Nature Reserve famous for its birdlife. Boat trips go from nearby Porth Neudwy to the wildlife haven. You can visit the National Trust’s new Porth y Swnt centre for an insight into the peninsula’s special landscapes, seascapes, and rich cultural heritage. You will be blown away by the breathtaking coastal views from the Mynydd Mawr headland. There is plenty to explore from Aberdaron including sea caves, rock pools and the coast path. Windsurfing, sailing, and kayaking are all popular. Aberdaron is sprinkled with cosy cafes, restaurants and boasts an impressive sailing club. The village hosts an annual sailing regatta, and its coastal heritage is celebrated at the popular Llyn Coastal Festival.
Abersoch is a gorgeous seaside resort with sailing and watersports. It boasts fine beaches, a lovely, sheltered harbour, a buzzy bistro life and good attractions including pony trekking, boat trips and a delightful craft centre.
Another lovely seaside village is Llanbedrog. It has an Instagram worthy photogenic line of colourful beach huts and a superb beach. You will also find Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, a wonderful arts centre and gallery. You also need be camera ready at Porthdinllaen, the much-photographed coastal hamlet brimming with quaint houses above a stunning half-moon of golden sand. There is a lovely characterful waterfront pub. The village and beach are owned by the National Trust and access is by foot only. Next to Porthdinllaen on the north coast you will find Nefyn with its maritime museum, pretty harbour, and a sweeping crescent of sand. Its headland golf course is incredible, not for the faint hearted.
The peninsula’s capital Pwllheli is a very busy seaside resort and busy market town. It boasts a popular sailing and watersports centre, a fantastic marina, art galleries and fantastic shops and restaurants.
If you want to head inland, Llithfaen is a quaint village set in a fascinating landscape. On Yr Eifl mountains you will find Tre’r Ceiri, an astonishingly well-preserved prehistoric village which was occupied until about 2000 years ago. Nearby is the Welsh Language and Heritage Centre, Nant Gwrtheyrn.
Other popular attractions and activities are fishing, horse riding, golf and Glasfryn Parc where you can enjoy go-karting, ten-pin bowling, archery, and other activities. The property is located moments from incredible beaches and many walking and cycling paths. The Llyn Peninsula is stunningly beautiful and the perfect place for those loving the outdoors. One of the best beaches on the whole peninsula is the Whistling Sands Beach which is very close to the house. Children love listening for the sand whistling and making it squeak as they walk on it. The beach is southwest facing and popular with surfers.
The peninsula’s capital town Pwllheli offers much entertainment. It boasts a Blue Flag beach and a fabulous watersports centre with a very modern marina. The National White Water Centre offers thrilling white water rafting and canoeing on the River Tryweryn. You need to be a confident swimmer. There are other courses for over 14’s and over 16’s. Canyoning is fantastic fun with scambling, sliding and swimming through the gorge. A wonderful family excursion is a visit to the royal fortress palace, Caernarfon Castle. It is recognised as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages. On the banks of the River Seiont, the castle took 47 years to build. You can also visit Penarth Fawr which is an extremely well-preserved house which gives a rare glimpse into how the Welsh gentry lived during the 15th century.
You can enjoy outstanding scenery, comfortable carriages, and historic steam engines with the Welsh Highland Steam Railway. In the heart of Snowdonia, glorious coastlines, ancient oak woodlands, mountains, rivers and castles all beckon as you jump on the train, stepping back in time. We had a great week at the property with fantastic views of the sea and countryside . Welsh coastal path within 15 minute walk from the property and lovely towns and villages all within 30 minutes drive.
Our third visit!
We love the location within walking distance of Whistling Sands beach with it's awesome cafe. So many wonderful walks within easy reach. A very sociable property with open plan living space. Well appointed bath/shower rooms and bedrooms. Fully enclose garden and dog friendly tiled floors. We love it!
A real 5 star holiday home. The quality of the furniture and bedding was fabulous. Views from the house were great especially the sunsets from the garden. Dog friendly garden was a great place
Beautiful property in a beautiful setting
15m walk to the sea, and views of the sea from all rooms in the house; sunset views from driveway and upstairs - amazing. Underfloor heating was luxurious (at the end of November when we were there). Nicely and sympathetically converted from farm buildings (we guess) with tasteful furnishing etc. Have already recommended this place to our friends and would love to come again ourselves.
So so nice!
A beautiful high quality property, we had a fantastic week staying there. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and also a short car journey away. So great to be able to take our dog with us too.
