About the surrounding area of Villa Dok MaiVilla Dok Mai is set on Railay Beach in Thailand’s Krabi Province. Nestled like a glimmering jewel in Phuket, the crown of Thailand, just south of Ao Nang Beach, around a rocky headland and accessible only by boat, Railay presents a tranquil and extraordinary world of natural beauty.
In just one small peninsula guests can enjoy stunning white-sand beaches, striking limestone cliffs, spectacular viewpoints, caves and mysterious lagoons.
Railay Beach can only be reached by longtail boat (there are no roads on the peninsula), although it’s connected to the spectacular Phra Nang Peninsular on the mainland. Framed by limestone headlands and steep jungle valleys, this stunning enclave is a veritable tropical paradise.
When in Krabi, there is so much on offer: island-hopping, snorkelling, rock climbing, sea kayaking, jungle trekking and scuba diving are among the most popular activities.
Krabi Town is relatively relaxed and low-key, offering a slow pace of life and taste of local culture. Markets are a wonderful way to experience an authentic slice of local Thai culture, and Krabi Town’s “Walking Street Market” is a classic night market offering everything from freshly-cooked food to stalls selling locally-made crafts. Ao Nang is the spot to head for nightlife; it has a vibrant scene with everything from live music in beachside shacks to contemporary cocktail bars.
No trip to Krabi is complete without a trip out to the iconic 100m high limestone rocks on the spectacular Phi Phi islands! Featuring in many movies, their velvety beaches, sparkling azure waters and striking limestone rock formations are unforgettable.
For a taste of Thai spiritual life, the Tiger Cave Temple features an awe-inspiring Buddha statue that walkers can reach after a 1,247 step climb up! Gruelling in Krabi’s tropical climate, but the views are peerless, making it all worth it!
