THE REGION

The quiet and idyllic resort of Binibeca is a very popular smaller resort on the beautiful south coast of Menorca and is a perfect choice for holidaymakers wanting to escape the noise and crowds of other more developed areas. You will not find any skyline-destroying hotels or large holiday complexes here, most accommodations being in private villas and apartments.

Today, Binibeca stretches 3 km along the coast and includes the original ‘Binibèquer Vell’, or an old portion, as well as the new portion of ‘Binibèquer Nou’- a natural progression with many of the homes and villas in keeping with the original design. At the very eastern point of Binibeca, you will also find Cala Torret, a small village which feels separate but is actually part of it.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Children will treasure the memories of a Menorquin holiday - the island is safe and welcoming, with no shortage of fun activities for kids. The villa itself has a fantastic pool with plenty of space for splashing around and lots of areas to relax and enjoy some downtime. The lawn is perfect for kids to play together within the safe confines of the villa.

The proximity to Binibeca beach is ideal for families with kids - they'll adore swimming and snorkelling in the sparkling sea and strolling along the powdery white sand. They might even spot some exotic fish or a shipwreck if they're lucky. However, there are so many beaches to choose from, they could try a different beach every day if they like! A boat trip from Mao harbour is a great activity for children of all ages - some boats have glass bottoms, so kids can observe the marine life beneath the sea.

Water parks are a quintessential Balearic island activity - close to the villa you will find the largest on the island, Splash Sur. This aqua park has something for everyone - thrillseekers can try out the black hole drop or the exciting Kamikaze ride, while little ones have their own shallow activity pool with water jets, fountains and mini slides. Everyone will have a fantastic time playing on the pirate ship, complete with water cannons and floating down the lazy river in a rubber ring.

Menorquins love horse riding - the coastal path around the island is called Camide Cavalls, which means 'Way of the Horses'. The black Menorquin horse is indigenous to the island - mini riders can go on horseback trails, or take a pony ride at a stable nearby.

The adventure playground in Castillo Menorca is bound to keep active kids busy - there are zip lines, a swimming pool and sandpits. Climbing frames and trampolines add to the indoor fun - and there are plenty of shops that adults can explore while the kids have fun.

Just 10 minutes from Mahon is the Lloc de Menorca Zoo, which houses species native to the island and also from overseas. There are fish, reptiles and birds from all over the world, as well as a Lemur Forest. There are several interactive areas where children can hold animals. Of course, a great way for kids to experience the island's flora and fauna is on the Jeep Safari.
