Overview
Sitting up in the hills of Formentor with the most incredible sea views, Formentor Beach enjoys tranquillity and total seclusion. It boasts five spacious bedrooms, vast living spaces, gorgeous terraces and balconies and a fantastic pool and garden. There is an elevator taking guests from floor to floor. It is perfect for a spot to switch off and to bring the generations together.
The modern Formentor Beach is an upside-down villa which makes the most of its sensational views across the bay. It enjoys a large entrance hall which leads to a very generous living space with a dining room and kitchen, the main bedroom suite, another bedroom and a guest toilet. The ground floor is home to three double bedrooms, another kitchen with a wood oven, a laundry, another large dining room and access to the garden. The lower floor offers a games room, spa, sauna, and jacuzzi.
The main living space is bright and airy, drowned in natural light that streams through the huge sliding doors and windows. The upper floor terrace enjoys an excellent alfresco lounge and dining furniture, so you can relax while watching the sunset with chilled white wine. The traditional furnishings are very comfortable and placed perfectly to enjoy the sea vistas. A large dining table and chairs sit close to the modern kitchen. This offers all the appliances you could need for your self-catering break. On the ground floor, you will discover another characterful living space with exposed stone walls, wooden ceiling beams, a giant dining table, a kitchen and a wood oven. It is amazing to have so much space to spread out.
The main bedroom suite has plenty of built-in wardrobes for your holiday clothes, two beautifully tiled bathrooms and a huge bed with luxury linens. The remaining bedrooms enjoy a mixture of comfy kingsize beds and twin beds. They are beautifully appointed with wooden furnishings, some with beams and some with access to balconies. The bathrooms are smart and immaculate. The spa is a wonderful added extra with a jacuzzi and sauna where you can enjoy some indulgent pampering time.
The garden is well-tended and a great place for children to play. A spectacular staircase leads to the pool with its integrated pool area for children and a jacuzzi. This is surrounded by loungers and trees that offer some welcome dappled shade. Formentor Beach is a wonderful Mallorcan getaway within easy reach of some of its most beautiful spots.

Location
About the surrounding area of Formentor BeachFormentor Mallorca's beautiful northeastern headland is sprinkled with hills and lush forest. Cala Formentor enjoys glistening sands and a fabulously clear sea that is very popular for watersports. A glass-bottomed boat departs from the pier, and catamarans and dinghies are available for hire. There are some great restaurants, a friendly ice cream kiosk near the beach and a good range of beach amenities. The central hotel continues to welcome today's rich and famous. Some excellent designated vista points on Formentor showcase the entire cape and its surrounding turquoise waters.
The majestic Old Town of Pollensa is famous for its enchanting walls and bustling main square, Placa Major. It is the place to head to for excellent restaurants, coffee and people-watching. The town's buzzy, popular Sunday market boasts delicious food stands, souvenirs, and leather goods. The three hundred and sixty-five Calvari Steps lead from the Placa Major to the top of the town, where you will enjoy astonishing views and visit the pretty, intimate Church of Nostra Senyora dels Angels. Light spills through the stained glass windows to illuminate its gorgeous interior. Just off the Placa Major are Museo Dionis Bennassar, an unexpected treasure and the home of a famous local artist. Puerto Pollensa is wonderful with its dazzling white sand and shallow, warm water. The marina is amazing, the perfect people-watching spot and also the place for adventure out at sea. Golf fans marvel at the famous Alcanada Golf Club. As well as having superb greens designed by Robert Trent Jones, there are incredible views and a wonderful restaurant. As well as stunning beaches, and fantastic historic towns, nature reigns supreme in Mallorca. The island is popular for its dramatic mountains, fabulous mountain roads, and excellent hiking paths.
The Serra de Tramuntana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2011 to protect the unique landscape, customs and heritage. The mountains skirt the length of Mallorca's northern coast. Whether you choose to drive, hike or cycle, there are countless incredible sights to see, from the Moorish terraced hillsides dropping to the sea in Banyalbufar to the stunning clifftop viewing points such as the Mirador de Ricardo Roca and Mirador De Ses Barques, where you can see the lovely resort of Soller in the distance. The blissfully quiet village of Galilea is Mallorca's highest village. La Torre de Verger is an ancient watchtower perched on the edge of a cliff near Banyalbufar on the west coast. It is a popular spot to watch the breathtaking sunsets. La Reserva Puig Galatzo is a fabulous nature reserve deep in the forest at the western end of the Tramuntana. You can hike the pathways, enjoying the wildlife, pools and waterfalls. The adventure park has Mallorca's longest zip wire, rock climbing and Tibetan-style suspension bridges. A trip to the mountain range would only be complete with visiting the beautiful Deia. The village is one of the prettiest in Mallorca and has become a playground for the rich.

THE REGION
Discover the northern Mallorca resort that inspired Agatha Christie to write a novel and has attracted holidaymakers for decades. Find out why this destination – backed by mountains – offers more than just sun, sand, and sea.
Once a simple fishing port, the town is now a very attractive, family-friendly resort with some intriguing twists to its history. Here we provide all the information you want to know to enjoy a stay in this treasured port town.
Port de Pollensa, or ‘Puerto Pollensa’ as it is sometimes spelt, is a resort particularly popular with the British – for holidays and as a second home location – and offers good facilities, beaches, and excellent opportunities for water sports.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFormentor Beach is fantastic for large families. It enjoys considerable space, excellent bedrooms, a garden, stunning views and a great swimming pool.
The villa is within easy reach of some of Mallorca’s favourite beaches. As well as the fabulous Formentor Beach, Puerto Pollensa, the Alcudia beaches, Cala Agulla, Cala Sant Vicenc and Cala Mesquida are all within easy reach of the villa. Cala Formentor is great for watersports, boat trips and snorkelling with clear waters. Trees are overhanging the beach, offering much welcome shade. There is a sense of seclusion you will not find at the busier tourist resorts. Dolphin watching is on offer in addition to snorkelling trips and diving lessons. Puerto Pollensa's challenging floating water park is very popular. Children are given life jackets and swim to the park or use the rope connecting it to the beach.
The Hotel Bellevue Complex at Puerto Alcudia boasts a thrilling go-karting playground called Kartingmania which is open to all visitors. There is a special track for four to seven-year-olds, and children over seven can drive on the main track in customized, gasoline-powered karts.
The Hidropark Waterpark in Alcudia boasts kamikaze slides, a wave pool, swimming and water playgrounds. There are gentle slides for very young children. There are also inflatable castles, trampolines, giant floating balls and a golf course. It is set in lush landscaped gardens and is a great day out.
Children also love visiting some of Mallorca’s interesting caves. Coves d’Arta’s guided tour takes you through various chambers to the ‘Queen of Pillars’, a huge stalagmite twenty-two metres tall. Coves de Drach, Caves of the Dragon, is the most famous cave. It has four caves where musicians play classical music from the boats on the underground lake. In the direction of Palma, you will discover the traditional village of Campanet. The Ses Coves de Campanet are a lovely sight.
You can head to La Reserva Galatzo, deep in the Tramuntana mountains, near Puigpunyent, for some thrilling fun. As well as having stunning scenery and much wildlife, the adventure park offers rock climbing, swinging bridges, a zip wire and canyons to slide down. There are well-marked paths, and the barbecue area is a great place to finish.
Further away, the tree-top adventure park at Santa Ponsa is set in nine hectares of pine forest. One hundred and twenty-three platforms are built into the trees with three different circuits with bridges, swings, ladders and zip lines for varying abilities. The Pirate circuit is for children over four years old, and the Explorer and Extreme circuits are more challenging for older children and adults.
