Overlooking the beach and close to the coastal resort of Sanxenxo sits this glorious six-bedroom villa. Modern in design, the interiors are spacious and cool, with almost every room drenched in light from glass doors and large windows. On the ground floor, the open-plan living area is all tasteful decor and contemporary furnishings, with the lounge featuring splashes of colour on the walls, a large sofa, and a huge fireplace to keep everything cosy on cooler days. It's the perfect room for a family or friends to socialise and relax in. From the lounge, step through to the outdoor terrace, where you can catch up on some quiet holiday reading or simply sit and gaze at the sea views. When it's time to eat, you'll find a delightful kitchen equipped with every appliance you'll need to create a delicious meal. Serve meals at the table in the spacious dining room that overlooks the pretty garden.

Also on this floor are two bedrooms featuring a single bed and one en-suite double. The bedrooms are wonderfully serene with whitewashed walls, wood-panelled flooring and plenty of wardrobe space. From the ground floor, a staircase leads upstairs to the first floor, where you'll find the remaining four bedrooms featuring two twin beds, a single bed, and an attic suite. In the attic suite, the space is endless. A sloping wood-beamed ceiling contrasts strikingly with contemporary furnishings, and roof windows offer up sea views. There are also two bathrooms on this floor.

Back on the ground floor, a pretty terrace is dotted with garden furniture and an elegant dining table. From here, steps lead down to a vast garden featuring a manicured lawn, fruit trees, a dazzling pool and play areas for the children. Bask in the sun on a lounger, unwind in the hammock, cool off in the swimming pool or simply feel your spirits lift as you drink in the sea views. There's also private access to a coastal path and an area of cliffs where you can watch the sunset over the sea.

Villa Boatina is ideally placed for those who want tranquillity and to be within walking distance of a sandy beach. For further amenities, it's just a 5 to 10-minute drive to Portonovo and Sanxenxo, with their restaurants, bars and marina.

Villa Boatina is located on Galicia's west coast and is ideal for guests who love being close to the sea. From the property, it's a short stroll to the beach with its fine sand and crystal clear waters. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a swim.

If you are looking for something more energetic, there are a number of walking trails in the area. From the villa, you can pick up a hiking path and enjoy a 5km walk along the coastline to Ermita de la Lanzada. Along the way, enjoy spotting dolphins in the water and soak up the views out to Ons Island. The route is dotted with beach cafes and restaurants, so be sure to stop for a meal of freshly cooked fish. Ermita de la Lanzada is a small church set above Praia Da Lanzada, the region's largest beach. It's a pretty place to relax with sweeping views and a grassy area where the children can safely play. Some excellent surf can be found in this area, and windsurfers can ride the waves on the Lanzada beach below.

For a memorable day out, make the 10-minute journey to Sanxenxo, where you can jump on a ferry and make the crossing to the beautiful Ons Island. More windswept than the neighbouring Cies Islands, birdwatchers can enjoy spotting gulls, gannets and falcons while beach-lovers can explore the collection of small, sandy beaches. The more active can hike around the whole island or climb to the lighthouse for spectacular views. Back in Sanxenxo, shake the sand from your feet and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many gourmet restaurants that line the marina. And when the sun dips, there's plenty of evening entertainment to choose from, with nightclubs and bars that stay open until long after dawn.

From the property, it's a 30-minute drive to the charming historic city of Pontevedra. This is where Columbus' ship, the Santa Maria, was built and is an excellent place to spend a day. Stroll around the Old Town with its network of streets and squares and admire the ancient buildings and churches dating back to the thirteenth century. After browsing the markets and shops, stop for a coffee in the buzzy Praza da Ferreria, overlooked by the beautiful, fourteenth-century Igrexa de San Francisco, a stunning monastery in the centre of the city.

About the Region & Getting There

About Galicia

Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!

Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.

Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.

Getting There

Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain. Hop on and enjoy the view from your comfy seat; there's even a Galician Tourist Train pass! This discounted rail pass gives you access to various rail routes created by the Galician Regional Government and based on key elements of the region. Follow the Lighthouse Route along the northern coastline and stop to admire the lighthouses and gorgeous sea views, or hop on and follow one of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Routes to visit the lovely towns and wineries where acclaimed Galician wines are made and enjoyed. Check out the government website to grab your pass and plan your trip!

From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Villa Boatina is a great choice for any family, with plenty of space both inside and out. Children will love having their own bedroom and relaxing on the huge lounge sofas while watching their favourite programmes on the TV. But when the sun is out, they'll want to head outdoors and explore the vast garden with its children's play area, hammock and swimming pool. The extensive lawn, with its trees and shrubs, is ideal for a game of hide and seek, while the comfortable terrace is perfectly set up for al fresco dining. The garden offers peace and tranquillity, while the nearby hiking path is ideal for those who want to enjoy a walk in nature.

With the beach right on your doorstep, simply grab the swim things and spend the day splashing in the sea and playing on the soft, white sand. Alternatively, head 10 minutes to the coastal resort of Sanxenxo, where older children can try their hand at scuba diving or snorkelling. For more adrenaline-fuelled fun, head 5 minutes north to Sanxenxo's karting track. Older kids will love aqua karts and race karts, while younger ones can play a game of mini-golf. Those with a head for heights can also have a go on the zip line.

From the villa, it's a 10-minute drive north to Lanzada Beach, a long sandy beach with excellent waves. Older kids can spend the day surfing or windsurfing, while younger ones can fly kites and build sandcastles on the shore. After a day of activity, brush the sand from your feet and enjoy a snack and refreshments at the chiringuito. Afterwards, you might want to climb up to the tiny twelfth-century chapel, where you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the sea. For fun, family day out, jump on a ferry down at the marina in Sanxenxo and cross the water to Ons Island. The island is dotted with pretty sandy beaches and walking trails, and you can spend the day exploring the lighthouse and cliffs or swimming in crystal-clear waters.

We really enjoyed Villa Boatina! The villa was clean, had a lovely pool and was close to a beautiful beach. The size was perfect for a large group - we were 7 - with lots os space for everyone, a lovely covered veranda and beautiful view of the ocean. We also enjoyed the planned activites like horseback riding, surfing, and boating to the Cies Islands.
