Location
About the surrounding area of Casa SavinaCasa Savina can be found just over 10 minutes away from the centre of Formentera, giving guests the prime opportunity to explore everything that this amazing area has to offer. One of the region’s finest attractions is Es Migjorn beach, which is also regarded as the area’s longest beach. Teeming with soft golden sand and sapphire blue water, this is an impeccable landmark to visit if you are looking to let go of the stressors of normal life and truly learn to become more mindful of the soothing sights and scents that surround you. Once you have enjoyed a day out at the beach, be sure to take a short walk into the local town. This area is filled with native establishments, allowing guests to end the day with a delicious meal. Es Migjorn beach is situated just over 15 minutes away from the villa.
Cap de Barbaria is another deeply significant landmark that is based around 10 minutes away from Casa Savina. Measuring over 100 metres above sea level, this looming lighthouse has managed to establish itself as an iconic local phenomenon. Avid European film lovers will recognise this structure from Julio Medem’s photograph in the racy film Lucia y el Sexo. Therefore, this is an unmissable sight for those who wish to observe this region’s history from a much more intimate perspective. Guests must also climb to the very top of this monument, basking in the wealth of awe-inspiring views that sit below.
Together with its idyllic views and incredible cultural impact, Formentera is also recognised for its fantastic food scene. Since this area is surrounded by vast bodies of fresh water, it is often commended for its remarkable seafood industry. Peix Sec de Formentera is a local delicacy that is crafted using a variety of fresh skate that is then left to dry out on the many Sabina trees that encircle this area. As a result, guests now have the opportunity to leap out of their culinary comfort zones and enjoy a dish that is truly native to this quaint area. This dish can be found in a collection of local seafood restaurants, making it a very accessible menu option for foreign foodies.

THE REGION
The smallest of the Balearic islands lies just south of Ibiza and is known for its very relaxed vibe. You can arrive in as little as 40 minutes by ferry from Ibiza and you will find a real island paradise, a place where time almost seems to stand still.
People go to Formentera simply to relax, spend time lazing on one of its strikingly beautiful beaches and bathing in its sparkling crystalline waters. It's no surprise that Formentera's beaches are regularly voted as Europe's best, also ranking in the top ten worldwide.
As much as Formentera is a top holiday destination it's also very popular for daytime excursions from Ibiza. It's easy to get around on a rented scooter or bike to explore the charming villages and beautiful beaches, followed by a stop to eat delicious Mediterranean food in one of the many excellent restaurants
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesDespite its charming pace of life, Formentera can still excite and inspire a collection of deeply inquisitive children. For those looking to experience the nuances of this bustling local culture, a trip to The Sant Francesc Xavier Market is an ideal way to do so. This quirky flea market is packed full of local tradespeople, all of which showcase their own unique creations. As such, guests can pick up a collection of handmade crafts and decadent art pieces that they can show off back home. Therefore, this attraction works tirelessly to promote the talent and dedication of the entire native population. The Sant Francesc Xavier Market is based just over 5 minutes away from Casa Savina and welcomes guests every Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm.
La Savina is a quaint local village that can be found just over 10 minutes away from the villa. This is the first village that people see when they first come to Formentera, making it a popular hotspot for affluent tourists. This area is also recognised for its vast harbour, which is home to a wealth of high-end sailing boats. Guests are encouraged to explore this location in full detail, browsing through the wide variety of artisan shops and chatting with a large number of amicable vendors. Be sure to end the day with a remarkable meal as you observe the small boats as they float along the calm and clear water.
If you are looking to embark on a truly unique and wondrous scuba diving experience, a trip to the Don Pedro Wreck is a must-do activity. Based at the bottom of the seabed, this titanic cargo ship stretches an astonishing 140 metres long. After many years at the bottom of the ocean, this ship is now covered in rugged rock formations and colourful coral. In turn, guests have the chance to discover more about this region’s far-reaching nautical history as well as get up close and personal with a plethora of majestic marine wildlife. Guests will also receive a detailed safety briefing before they enter the water to ensure that they feel calm and confident at all times.
