Situated in the prestigious La Zagaleta residential area, this stunning five-bedroom villa is a luxurious and contemporary home. Designed with flair and precision, the panoramic windows and cool, open living area make it a thoroughly attractive space. The lounge is a classy affair with its high ceiling, whitewashed walls, chrome fittings and sleek furnishings. The perfect space for entertaining, there's an elegant table seating ten people and numerous chairs to relax in and soak up the stunning views.

From the lounge, tiled floors sweep up to a mezzanine area with seating and glass doors that open out onto a terrace that overlooks the pool. A professionally kitted-out kitchen featuring Gaggenau appliances is located off from the living area and overlooks a breakfast area with a cherry-wood panelled ceiling. Three stunning bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are located on this floor, and a lift and stairs connect to the first floor and the huge master suite. Featuring an enormous dressing room and en-suite bathroom, there’s plenty of space here for all your things. The natural finishes and floor-to-ceiling glass doors flood the space with natural light and bring the outside in. You'll soon feel at ease as you soak up the countryside views from the comfort of your bed and bathtub. Should you need to catch up on some work while there, there's also a light and airy office.

While the bedrooms are wonderfully soothing, if you're in need of activity, head to the lower ground floor, where you can enjoy laps in the indoor pool. Alternatively, work up a sweat in the gym or Turkish bath, then unwind with a film in the enormous TV area. There's also a wine cellar and bedroom on this floor. Outside, a deck and patio surround a huge pool. Plunge into the water or take it easy on a lounger and soak up the sun. From the pool area, a few steps lead down to a manicured lawn dotted with shrubs and pines where you can sit and contemplate the mountain views. The villa is set in an exclusive residential area with two golf courses within the gated grounds, plus an equestrian centre. It's also a 30-minute drive to the swanky Puerto Banus, with its luxury marina, designer shops, fine restaurants and glamorous nightlife.

Villa Zermatt sits within the La Zagaleta Country Club, an exclusive club offering exceptional living. With nearly 900 hectares of valleys, wooded hills and natural beauty spots, it's a unique, private and secure place to live on the Costa del Sol. There are a number of hiking and mountain biking trails for guests who want to explore the beautiful landscape on foot or bike while riders can discover the unique setting on horseback. If you're after more activity, you'll find two pristine 18-hole golf courses bordering the lush green valleys, plus two tennis courts, a bowling alley and a billiard room in the clubhouses. These lively clubhouses are both sociable places with summer and winter restaurants, lounges, and a bar.

The pretty village of Benahavis is a 30-minute drive from the villa and is known as the dining room of the Costa del Sol. Packed with high-class Spanish restaurants and bars, it's a pretty place to stop for lunch with its views of the Serrania de Ronda Mountains. If you want a day at the beach, pack your sun cream and head 30 minutes south to Puerto Banus. Once a traditional Spanish fishing village, it is today considered to be the most glamorous place on the Costa del Sol. There are several beaches in the area, including the popular Nueva Andalucia Beach and here you can rent a pedalo or kayak, swim in the calm waters or simply enjoy feeling the sand between your toes. Afterwards, browse the designer stores or stop for a cool drink stop at the harbour and watch the big yachts bobbing in the water. Come evening, the place gets crowded with partygoers who flock to the town's glitzy bars and nightclubs.

For further amenities, make the 40-minute drive to neighbouring Marbella and spend the day soaking up the sun on one of the fabulous beaches or dining at a Michelin-starred seafront restaurant. While here, be sure to stroll through the attractive old town with its whitewashed buildings, flower boxes and narrow lanes and admire the Moorish and baroque architecture that bears witness to the presence of both Arabs and Christians in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Children will love the vast number of rooms and endless space at Villa Zermatt. Although the interior is chic and stylish, the TV/chill-out room on the lower ground floor is a brilliant addition, and kids will love being able to kick back and watch a film on the huge screen. They can also swim in the indoor pool, but when the sun is shining, they can splash to their heart's content in the outdoor one. The vast garden is the perfect spot to run free, and after a day's activity, the whole family can gather on the terrace and enjoy an alfresco meal while watching the sun disappear behind the mountains.

Casa Suiza is located in a beautiful private reserve, and children can enjoy walking or cycling through the valleys and groves, or they can take advantage of the activities at La Zagaleta Country Club. They can practise their tennis skills with a coach, have a horse riding lesson at the equestrian centre or simply enjoy a bite to eat at one of the club restaurants.

For a day at the beach, pack the swim things and head for 30 minutes by car to Puerto Banus, where you'll find a number of beautiful sandy beaches. Children can swim or snorkel safely in the calm Mediterranean waters and build sandcastles on the shore. Afterwards, head to the harbour for ice cream or visit the aquarium and marvel at the sharks, stingrays, and sunfish. For a more madly active day, drive from the villa to Aventura Amazonia. This park is the largest adventure park in Andalusia and is packed with challenges and courses. Those with a head for heights can fly through the pine trees on zip-lines while younger ones can enjoy the sandbox, mini climbing wall or clamber over the walls of the Spiderman house. Alternatively, head 40 minutes west from the villa and spend the day spotting rhinos, giraffes, and lions at the Selwo Aventura animal park. Explore the park on foot or from the comfort of a four-wheel drive. Younger children will also love the mini zoo with its chickens, sheep and rabbits.
