Nestled in the charming coastal village of Nueva in the stunning province of Llanes in Asturias stands La Concha, a single-storey, three-bedroom villa that can accommodate up to eight guests. Surrounded by mountains and lush green vegetation, La Concha offers guests a relaxed and idyllic setting, all within easy distance of restaurants, bars, and some of the most stunning beaches on the Asturias coast. Please be aware that the owners live next door and share a gate to the park/play area. Their children have access to this area, however the rest of the property is private.

La Concha features a cool and stylish interior, with fresh cream and white decor throughout. The living area is punctuated by accents of black and shades of white and grey, with cosy recliner sofas, soft rugs and cushions, and chunky wooden furniture. The addition of lush houseplants and a handsome fireplace create a warm, home-from-home vibe, and there is a flat-screen Smart TV for evenings when you just want to chill out and relax. La Concha's separate dining room has a modern-style dining table that seats up to six guests and features a trendy bar area complete with stools - perfect for enjoying after-dinner drinks with friends.

The villa's kitchen is large and well-equipped with everything you'll need to prepare meals for you and your guests during your stay, including plenty of food preparation space, stylish wooden storage cabinets, high-end appliances, crockery and glassware. La Concha also benefits from a cosy conservatory/summer room that looks out over the beautiful gardens and offers extra seating for mealtimes, as well as the ideal space to relax with a good book or a morning cuppa.

La Concha's bedrooms are also light and airy, with characterful decor, pretty soft furnishings, and built-in wardrobes. Two double rooms and one twin are great for those travelling with children! Two extra beds are available on request for larger groups.It is perhaps the large, enclosed garden that is the jewel in La Concha's crown, with its swings, slides, trampoline, and small football field creating the perfect space for kids. The vast lawn area offers the ideal sunbathing spot, and mature trees offer plenty of shaded areas for relaxing out of the hot sun. A covered outdoor dining area and built-in barbecue will make alfresco meals a delight and lends themselves perfectly to busy family breakfasts and cosy evening conversation under the stars.

La Concha is located in the village of Nueva in Llanes, a region of Asturias situated between Galicia and Cantabria along Spain's northern coast. Known for its dramatic landscapes, beautiful beaches, excellent food, and pre-romanesque architecture, Asturias is often overlooked as a holiday destination in favour of the south. But, if you're searching for somewhere green and pleasant, with ocean views, nature reserves, good food (especially the cheese!) - and even better cider and wine - Asturias is the place to be.

The coastal town of Nueva in the east of Asturias is less than 2km away from Cuevas del Mar beach and San Antonio beach, both of which are considered among the best beaches in the region. Featuring milky-white sands, crystal clear waters and huge, piercing rock formations that reveal caves and tunnels, Cuevas del Mar (caves of the sea) offers visitors a stunning landscape and good amenities, including plenty of nearby places to eat and drink, showers, toilets and good parking. There are lifeguards on duty here for extra peace of mind, but bathing here is relatively safe, with the gradual water depth and natural protection from the elements making it popular with families.

San Antonio beach is separated from Cuevas del Mar by San Antonio Point and is a smaller cove featuring white sands and a moderate swell. Also sheltered from the elements and a lot less crowded than Cuevas del Mar, this lagoon-shaped stretch of sand has increased in popularity over the years and is the perfect spot for relaxing with a good book or simply taking in the views while the kids paddle in the azure of the Mediterranean.

With around 29 stunning beaches in the area, you'll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy watersports such as surfing, waterskiing and wakeboarding, as well as scuba diving and snorkelling - and if you fancy travelling further inland, you'll discover even more activities to enjoy. Quadbiking and canyoning are popular pastimes with tourists here, as are hiking and horse riding, and with so many stunning gorges and forests in the area to explore - you're going to be spoilt for choice.

We recommend fully immersing yourself in the Asturian culture while you're here by enjoying the many fiestas that are celebrated in Llanes, where the townspeople don traditional costumes and enjoy folk dancing and music. With gastronomic festivals and religious fiestas taking place in the region, Llanes is a fantastic place for sampling some Asturian cuisine which is often rich in seafood, including squid, crab, lobster, and mullet, scorpionfish and anchovies. Cheese is also a staple of the region's cooking, with soft creamy queso de Vidiago, smoked Ahumado de Pria, and delicious goat's cheeses such as la Cuevona, all forming part of the delicious recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Be sure to sample some Fabada while you're here (a cassoulet-type stew), as well as tortos served with picadillo and fried eggs - and make sure you wash it all down with a glass of local cider poured from a great height in the traditional way!

La Concha's single-storey layout and peaceful, rural location make it an ideal choice for guests of all ages. The twin room and the option to add extra beds mean that even larger families can all holiday together in comfort, making the sleeping arrangements that suit them best. The villa's grounds are perfect for the kids; they are fenced in for safety and feature plenty of shaded areas, as well as play equipment, including swings and a trampoline, and even a small football field to enjoy.

Nueva's coastal location in Llanes, Asturias, means that seaside walks, shell-collecting and paddling are just a short distance away, and guests staying at La Concha are fortunate enough to be in close proximity to some of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Cuevas del Mar, in particular, can get quite busy during the summer months, but it is well worth a visit with the kids, who will enjoy the mixture of white sand and pebbles and calm to moderate swell. The beach features a lot of amenities that make it popular with families, including ample parking, a recreation area, showers, toilets, lifeguards, and places where you can get food and drink.

If you're looking for a quieter beach, it's worth seeking out the incredibly beautiful Torimbia with its half-moon bay, or the amusingly-named 'Poo', which is pronounced 'Poe' in Spanish. Llanes also features two incredibly unique interior beaches that have no seashore, Cobijeru and Gulpiyuri - both of which have been declared natural monuments. The seawater makes its way through tiny tunnels in the limestone cliffs to these unusual beaches, and both make wonderful picnic spots for families who are holidaying with small children.

Slightly older children will enjoy all of the activities that are available in the area, from forest hikes to exploring caves, quad biking, horse riding, wakeboarding and snorkelling - you're sure to find something for all ages to enjoy.

Eating out with the kids while on holiday can be a bit of a headache, but the province of Llanes is bursting with eateries and restaurants to suit all tastes; from tapas such as goat's cheese croquettes with red pepper jam, and monkfish bites, to corn tortos with a variety of delicious fillings, seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes - finding something to suit even the fussiest of young palates should be a breeze.

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €200 charged to client's credit card by the owner upon arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time 5 pm. There is the possibility of a different arrival time, but only with prior agreement from the owner at least 3 days before arrival.
Departure time 11 am. There is the possibility of a late departure time, only during the off-peak seasons and with prior agreement from the owner.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Not available.
Linen & towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is included in rental price. It is good to note that the speed is dependent on the local provider and technical issues may cause reduced speed or cut of service.
Minimum stay 7 nights during July and August. 5 nights during September. 2-3 nights during other periods.
Changeover day Flexible.
Smoking Allowed? Smoking & Vaping are not permitted.
Pets welcome? Not permitted.
Tax Tourist Tax included in the rental price.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
