Nestled among the breathtaking, snow-covered peaks of the French Alps, Chalet Denise offers a splendid eight-bedroom ski retreat for up to fifteen guests. Located in the picturesque Alpe d'Huez, it serves as an enchanting haven for winter sports enthusiasts throughout the year.
Blending the rustic charm of an Alpine snow cabin with modern luxury, this chalet spans three floors and radiates a cozy ambiance with its beautiful wood-panelled decor and exposed beams. The wellness area is a highlight with a hot tub and sauna, providing the perfect setting to unwind with a glass of locally sourced wine.
The living room is spacious and illuminated, adorned with black leather sofas, gentle ambient lighting, and expansive French windows that flood the space with natural light. From the breezy balcony, take in the sweeping views of snow-cloaked mountains, or relax indoors in front of the TV. The indoor dining area offers a soothing atmosphere for delightful family meals.
The open-plan kitchen invites culinary adventures, equipped with wooden countertops and contemporary cabinetry. It features an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, and coffee machine.
Of the eight bedrooms, seven accommodate two guests each in twin beds, capturing the quintessential cabin essence. One twin bedroom is situated on the lower ground, while the ground floor houses a pair of twin bedrooms. The first floor boasts four twin bedrooms and an additional single bedroom. All bedrooms boast spacious en-suite bathrooms.
For those needing to stay connected, the chalet provides complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring a seamless remote work experience.

About the surrounding area of Chalet DeniseNestled in the pristine, high altitude ski resort of Alpe d’Huez, Chalet Denise is a family-friendly winter escape. Tucked away in the village of Vielle Alpe, its proximity to the slopes means that you can walk to the nearest chairlifts easily every morning.
You’ll find a flurry of ski schools and ski lifts nearby, with the tourist office only a short distance away.
Bathed in warm sunlight, it is a haven for snowboarders and ski bikers. While there are tons of options for beginners, advance skiers can’t miss the Sarenne Black Run, known to be the longest black run in the whole of Europe.
In summers, indulge in a host of activities like rambling, mountain biking, via ferrata, horse riding, fishing and pool swimming.
The chalet is close to various restaurants in Alpe d'Huez, catering to all tastes and budgets. Dig into homemade muffins and crepes at La Mere Michel Café (3 min), a charming local cafe. The restaurant in Chamois d'Or hotel (5 min) specialises in gourmet French cuisine, with cheese boards and grilled fish being a fan favourite.

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.
Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!
Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!
Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!
For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!

Kindly take note that the breakfast provisions for eggs, bacon, and yoghurts are limited to a choice of yoghurt or 1-2 eggs and 1-2 rashers of bacon per person each day. Smoked salmon is available for one breakfast only. Additionally, the beer supply is not unlimited but will sufficiently quench your thirst after a day on the slopes. Dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid are provided, and we kindly request that you wash the dishes and maintain the kitchen's cleanliness. Please be aware that there will be an extra charge if dishes are not washed and put away, as this service is not included in the mid-week and end-of-stay cleaning.
You will be informed of the designated night you have off from the Contactless Catered service by your chalet host, who will also provide recommendations for various restaurants. Please keep in mind that you are welcome to utilise the kitchen and prepare your own meals in the evening if you prefer.
