The impeccable region of Península de Tróia is located just under 5 minutes away from Deluxe Troia. As such, guests are encouraged to examine a wealth of integral landmarks throughout their time in this amazing area. If you wish to become more in tune with the local population, a trip to Mercado do Livramento is an ideal way to do so. The interior of this market is covered in azulejos, which are traditional hand-painted tiles that depict key events throughout Portugal’s history. Thus, guests will have the privilege of learning more about the region’s legacy whilst also browsing through an assortment of bustling stalls. Guests must pick up a collection of fresh meat, fish, and cheese to use in their own meals back at the villa to help them gain a more authentic taste of this remarkable area. Mercado do Livramento is situated just under an hour away from the villa.
 
Forte de Sao Filipe is an unusually-shaped fort that was first crafted by the acclaimed Phillip II of Spain back in 1582. It is placed on the right bank of the Sado River, giving previous military officials a clear view of those entering and exiting the region via sea. Nowadays, it is regarded as a significant tourist attraction that depicts Península de Tróia’s history from a more nuanced perspective. Be sure to travel to the top of the fort and bask in the outstanding panoramic views that sit below. Once you have explored this monument in-depth, you should also grab a delicious hot beverage inside the highly-regarded cafe located on-site. Forte de Sao Filipe can be found around 55 minutes away from Deluxe Troia.
 
This region is also commended for its immense golfing industry, with the prestigious Troia Golf being based around 5 minutes away from the villa. This vast course has been regarded as one of the finest in Europe, being voted the 25th most popular in the continent back in 2003. With a collection of beautiful greenways and bikers, this is a course that was designed to suit and challenge any level of player. After you have completed a riveting game of golf, be sure to end the day with a divine meal in the exquisite restaurant found on this course.

THE REGION

The Troia Peninsula is one of the most beautiful coastlines of Portugal, with a 13 km stretch of pristine sands, crystal clear waters and pine forested sand dunes. Reachable by ferry from Setubal, the pristine setting of the Tróia Peninsula is unquestionably one of Portugal’s best-kept secrets.

Sheltered by mountains, the Troia Peninsula enjoys a mild microclimate. The Reserva Natural do Estuario do Sado covers part of the peninsula and is a good place to go birdwatching. The waters around the peninsula are home to a school of bottlenose dolphins. Dolphin-watching trips leave from the marina, or you may even spot them gambolling in the surf on the ferry trip across the estuary.

Península de Tróia is an immensely idyllic area that is bound to entice any type of inquisitive child. If you are travelling with particularly adventurous children, you must encourage them to delve into the region’s immense seafood industry. One of the region’s signature dishes is Cataplana, a bustling dish served with clams and a rich tomato sauce. It is also served in a stoneware pot, helping to trap and enhance a wealth of nuanced flavours. This dish can be found in many of the local restaurants found within this area, allowing guests to enjoy a rich and vivacious delicacy whilst being able to soak up the local atmosphere.
 
This region is also celebrated for its wide variety of tremendous beaches such as the flawless Galapinhos beach. Boasting an abundance of sapphire blue water as well as an assortment of pure white sand, this is a landmark that should not be missed during your time in Península de Tróia. In fact, it was once ranked as Europe’s most beautiful beach, exemplifying the entire region’s immense natural beauty. Guests are encouraged to park their cars in the nearby car park and travel to the beach on foot. During peak season, many companies offer a shuttle bus service that takes guests directly to the beach itself. Galapinhos beach can be found just over an hour away from Deluxe Troia.
 
The Roman City of Cetobriga dated back to 1 BC and was originally considered to be a major fish-preserving centre. During this time, this city was a bustling hub of activity and mimicked many of our modern-day establishments. Thus, guests now have the prime opportunity to uncover an array of traditional baths, tombs, and even a crematorium. Due to its incredible dedication to education and conservation, this attraction has been placed on the UNESCO Tentative List and is soon to become a prestigious World Heritage Site. In turn, this is a great place to visit if you wish to uncover Península de Tróia’s far-reaching history from a much more dated perspective. The Roman City of Cetobriga is located around an hour and 10 minutes away from the villa.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €1,500 charged to client’s credit card by the owner before/upon arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time Between 3 - 8 pm, arrivals out of schedule will have an extra cost of €50 to be paid directly to the owner.

Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Linen & towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Pool towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
End of stay cleaning included? Not included on the rental price, extra €600 to be paid with the balance to OT. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included.
Minimum stay 3 nights. All other durations on request.
