Sleeping up to 10 lucky guests, Casa Maracuja offers exceptional accommodation, superb comfort and excellent entertaining space inside and out. This special villa is situated in the pretty hamlet of Malhao, 4km from the nearby village of Boliqueime and 12km from the coast. This beautiful, hilly area is popular with cyclists and hikers for its fabulous panoramic views. Though quiet and tranquil, it is within easy reach of the buzzy tourist towns of Albufeira and Vilamoura.
Casa Maracuja has been stylishly decorated and furnished to a very high standard. You will be delighted when arriving at this wonderful villa. The attention to detail is incredible. The villa is very well maintained. The mix of handpainted and terracotta tiling and the blend of traditional and modern furnishings and artwork create a warm and welcoming ambience. The living room is bright and airy and leads to a delightful terrace. The villa flows so well with open plan design. The dazzling, state-of-the-art kitchen offers everything you could wish for and leads to the elegant dining room. Also on the ground floor is a spacious twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, another twin bedroom and a shower room.
There is external access to a fabulous, self-contained suite with a double bed, twin beds, an ensuite shower room and a kitchenette with a fridge. This is ideal for a family that would enjoy a little independent space from the rest of the holiday group.
The beautifully presented master bedroom suite is situated on the first floor. With its vaulted ceiling, it offers a special, calm ambience. There is a queen-sized bed, an immaculate ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a shower, an impressive dressing area and just a few steps up, a fabulous roof terrace. The countryside views from this villa, spanning the Monchique mountains across to the Atlantic Ocean are breathtaking and immediately make you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy your holiday.
The covered garden terrace boasts alfresco dining as well as an entertaining games area including table football and a pool table. There is a built-in barbecue for delicious summer dinners. The 11m x 5m swimming pool is surrounded by loungers and the landscaped, terraced garden with its ancient olive trees. There is also a separate 3.5m x 2.5m swimming pool for the very young ones. The poolside shower is handy, and yoga fans will enjoy the sunken meditation area. Casa Maracuja is idyllic, private and luxurious.

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa MaracujaCasa Maracuja offers the best of both worlds. With fabulous privacy, space and tranquillity in its beautiful countryside location of Malhao, it is also very close to the Algarve’s fantastic beaches as well as the tourist hotspots of Albufeira and Vilamoura. Popular with cyclists and hikers, the area surrounding Malhao is known for its wildlife, panoramic views and climbing.
Boliquieme, 4km away, is a typical Portuguese village dating back to the 12th century surrounded by pine trees and almond groves. It is peaceful with cobbled streets and a few cafes where you can watch the locals play their games of dominoes.
East of Malhao, it is definitely worth the drive to the wonderful, riverside town of Tavira. With a host of excellent restaurants and cafes brimming its narrow streets, it is very pretty. It is reached via a delightful tapestry of lush lemon and orange plantations. Tavira is one of the most picturesque places to visit on the Algarve and is famous for its lovely churches as well as its excellent dining. You can cross the estuary by ferry to visit the Ilha de Tavira and its fabulous dunes and swimming. Such a brilliant day out!
The nearest beach is Olhos d’Agua. It gets is name due to the freshwater springs found among the rocks at the eastern end of the beach. At low tide, it is easy to spot them. Olhos d’Agua has retained its welcoming charm. Albufeira is 4km from Olhos d’Agua and is one of the busiest seaside resorts on the Algarve. Founded by Arabs, it has narrow winding streets in the atmospheric Old Town, a beautiful promenade, stunning cliff walks, its lovely Tunel and Peneco beaches, world-class golf courses, water parks, zoos, boutique designer shopping and a trendy modern marina, brimming with luxury yachts.
Vilamoura is modern, lively and sophisticated. It boasts 6 renowned golf courses with the Portugal Masters taking place every year at the superb Victoria Golf Course. Sports enthusiasts can also enjoy horse riding, football and tennis. Vilamoura is known for its hedonistic party scene with trendy bars, beach clubs, professional DJ’s and a choice of nightclubs. At the heart of Vilamoura is the exclusive marina complex, brimming with million-dollar yachts, gourmet restaurants and groovy bars. The casino is also a hotspot.
Other popular visits in this area include the unspoilt Portuguese market town of Loule, the delightful villages of Almancil and Sao Lourenco and, of course, the stunning islands of the Ria Formosa.

THE REGION
Boliqueime offers up a rural slice of the Algarve on Portugal's southern coast. It's right up in the hills, surrounded by pine trees and almond groves. The authentic village atmosphere comes complete with cobbled streets and a square where locals gather to play dominoes. As for beaches and nightlife, Albufeira's within a 15-minute drive.
Despite the laidback setting, there are plenty of activities nearby to keep you on your toes. Vilamoura's just a 15-minute drive away and home to a championship golf course. Meanwhile, ocean lovers can make the most of parasailing from Albufeira's marina or head out on a dolphin-watching trip.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesCasa Maracuja is a wonderful base for families. It offers spacious accommodation and outside space, a games area, two swimming pools and a lovely garden.
Children will love spending days on the beach where they can swim, paddle, surf and splash. The nearest beach is Olhos d’Agua. Trendy is Vilamoura’s Praia da Falesia and Praia de Quarteira. A visit to the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and a boat trip to one of the little islands is a fabulous day out. As an alternative and for some warmer water you can head to the Quinta do Lago lagoon. Artur’s Watersports Academy offers seasonal children's programmes, surf camps, kids clubs, sailing lessons, pedalos, kayaks and a fun water obstacle course.
For some excitement, you can head to one of the water parks or zoos. Aqualand Algarve is a thrilling water park boasting hair-raising Kamikaze and Banzai slides, a water playground, swimming pools, mini slides and a lazy river. Zoomarine is a trendy attraction with family entertainment, including shows, rides, slides and a variety of pools. You can watch dolphin, sea lion and birds of prey presentations and have fun on the rides. Dolphin Emotions offers memorable interaction with dolphins in the pool. Zoomarine is also focused on environmental education at its well-reputed rehabilitation centre for marine life.
Almancil Karting is the perfect place for budding Lewis Hamiltons. There is an excellent range of go-karts for children of all ages as well as adults. There are different tracks according to age and ability. Parents can ride with very young children in 2 seater karts. Other facilities at Almancil Karting include a buggy safari, trampolines and remote-controlled boats.
Desert Pines Algarve FootGolf is near Vale do Lobo and offers great entertainment. Guests play the golf-like course using feet as clubs, kicking the ball from the tee to the green and into the cups. There are plenty of normal mini-golf courses in the area.
