This modern home, near the small village Santa Barbara de Nexe, has been delightfully transformed from the inside out, showcasing a mix of new elements while paying homage to its traditional Algarvian roots. Ideal for a family villa holiday in Portugal, Casa Agostos can also be booked with its nearby sister property, Casa Luum, for a large group getaway in the heart of the idyllic Algarve countryside.

Casa Agostos has been designed by award-winning Lisbon-based architects, Pedro Domingos Arquitectos, who have used their expert knowledge to give the villa a minimalist and elegant feel, dominated by fresh white walls and strong, clean lines. The concrete structure also gives a subtle nod to the origins of the property - set back on an unassuming dirt road, Casa Agostos has humble roots, but has been majestically refurbished and extended into a stylish villa that feels at one with the surrounding landscape.

The property has three double bedrooms which can sleep up to six guests, as well two large bathrooms with luxury walk-in showers and bathtubs. An additional, new wing is home to a spacious living room with a cosy fireplace, perfect for gathering around during cooler evenings. Elsewhere, a fully-equipped kitchen makes family entertaining easy and enjoyable - a high-chair is provided for guests' use too.

Outside, a 15-m pool is surrounded by beautiful lawns. Spend the day relaxing at Casa Agostos in one of the many outdoor spaces the property boasts - the patios, terraces, or rooftop deck,  which offers impressive views of the gardens and further countryside.

Casa Agostos is nestled in a nature reserve, and the property gardens have also been designed with this in mind. The villa is surrounded by hundreds of olive, almond and cork trees, native to this area of Portugal. Enjoy alfresco dinners on the patio and marvel at the environment surrounding Casa Agostos. Set in the heart of the Algarve countryside, Casa Agostos is a five minutes drive from Santa Barbara de Nexe, a small but convenient village with a selection of shops, bars, and restaurants.

Head 20 minutes towards the coast, and you’ll be treated to some of the best beaches in the Algarve. Soft white sand, waves that are perfect for both swimming and surfing, and ample coves for you to explore. The closest, Praia da Falésia, was recently named one of the best beaches in Europe by the TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Awards. Backdropped by striking cliffs, this stunning beach also has a lifeguard.

If you’re a keen golfer (or eager to try!), you’re in luck - Casa Agostos is just a 10-15 minute drive away from some world-class golf courses. Live the life of a professional and try your hand on the Quinta do Lago courses, considered among many to be Portugal’s finest, and home to a number of international golfing championships.

Indulge in a touch of retail therapy during your villa holiday in Portugal, with Mar Shopping Algarve just a 10-minute drive from the property. A huge shopping centre, you’ll find everything your shopaholic heart desires in this mall, perfect for days when you want to escape the heat and seek some shade.

Aside from the spectacular beaches, one of the main attractions of the Algarve region is the Ria Formosa nature reserve, which Casa Agostos is also conveniently near. Take part in boat and kayak tours, as well as birdwatching, beachcombing, and exploring the range of landscapes with your family. The ultimate, nature-filled day out.

For wine lovers, the Algarve region is a must-visit. The area is famed for its wineries and vineyards, many of which are among the most renowned in Europe, if not the world. Spend the day exploring the various family-owned estates in the area, embarking on a wine tasting tour of the attractions.

Loulé is the ideal town in the Algarve to explore for a short trip. In this historically interesting town, you can discover a real taste of Portuguese culture. The town has a beautiful centre and a magnificent market hall. The narrow streets take you to important churches, and you can discover the ruins of a 13th-century castle.

Although the town of Loulé is not located directly at sea, its municipality does include some beautiful beaches. The beaches of Loulé are known for their exclusivity, like Praia da Quinta do Lago or Praia da Quarteira.


Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that. There’s actually a load of fascinating culture and history, superb cuisine and enthralling adventures to be had, though we’d be the first to admit that the beaches are pretty special too, with lots of sand, spectacle and wonderfully clean water.

Casa Agostos is a superb place to have your family villa holiday in Portugal. The property comes equipped with a crib and highchair, as well as kids’ DVDs to keep them more than entertained throughout the evening too.

The villa’s setting and vast size is also a natural playground for your little ones. They’ll love exploring the 2,500 square metre plot of a nature reserve that Casa Agostos is in, running wild around the trees, plants, and other wonderful wildlife.

The location of the property is also perfect for a kid-friendly holiday. Head to the coast and the Algarve’s stunning beaches, for an easy and relaxing family day out. If your children are more the adventurous type, there’s also a range of watersports and even surfing lessons for them to get involved in. They won’t be bored, that’s for sure!

Water babies will also love the nearby aquaparks, guaranteed fun for the entire family. There’s Aqualand, Aquashow, Slide & Splash, and more - take your pick! There are also attractions that allow your little ones to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience with their favourite aquatic creatures. Head to the likes of Zoomarine or Krazy World Zoo to come up close and personal with these impressive animals.

For a unique day out that is child-friendly, we recommend Fonte Benemola. A walking trail that passes through protected woodland, the route contains numerous boards explaining the geographical uniqueness of the area and wildlife to watch out for. Bring a picnic to make the most of the day.

Casa Agostos is also close by to Loule, home to colourful markets and ideal for shopping, thanks to the addition of the large mall, Mar Shopping. As well as stores and restaurants, the mall also has a children’s playground and cinema, making it a great spot if you do want to escape the sun and heat for a day. The best part? It’s only ten minutes away by car.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit 750€ paid via bank transfer to the owner one month before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

End of stay cleaning included? Not included in the rental price, extra €90 per week, to be paid with the balance to OT. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Not included in the rental price, extra €60 to be paid with the balance to OT.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in rental price.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included in rental price.
