Surrounded by leafy palms and unspoiled forests, the beautiful white sand beach offers an idyllic setting where you can wander along the shore or enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear waters. Alternatively, about 30 miles up the coast, the archaeological site of Cobá sits in the heart of the jungle. The site is less frequented, and you can climb to the top of the largest pyramid to enjoy views over the lush green canopy.
 
Tulum itself has plenty for everyone, filled with colourful streets lined by artisan shops and a great number of restaurants. Stop off for ice cream at the Panna e Cioccolato, or visit Meows Heladeria, where you can enjoy a vegan soft-serve with a tropical coconut base. Known for its fantastic cuisine, there are plenty of options to try classic Mexican dishes, and a great option is to purchase a taco or tortilla at one of the charming street stalls. Alternatively, for an enjoyable dinner, head to Hartwood, where you can expect a changing chalkboard menu that presents a range of delicious dishes cooked over a wood-burning stove.
