This luxurious villa is located in an elevated position looking out over white sands and azure seas, just a short walk from Tulum’s famous Mayan ruins, and some of the town’s best known restaurants.

Upon arrival guests will be struck by the tropical surroundings and tall palms, as well as incredible sundrenched seating areas and poolside loungers, perfect for entertaining, or simply kicking back with a cocktail or two while listening to the waves crash on the shore. The palapa living room is a sight to behold - glass fronted so that you won’t miss a second of the breathtaking views, and featuring a plush circular sofa area, chunky wooden furniture and contemporary lighting fixtures. The whole villa makes the most of locally sourced raw material in its decor, with woven artworks and rugs, lush greenery in the indoor hanging baskets, and handsomely crafted furniture in richly polished wood. The well-equipped kitchen is equally stylish, with a carved stone central island that doubles as a handy breakfast bar, and carved wooden units. There is a large modern stove, as well as American-style fridge-freezer, coffee grinder, coffee machine, and blender, as well as plenty of spacious areas to prepare food and to store anything else you might need.

Casa Miramar features 5 incredibly light and airy bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, and all offering spectacular ocean and jungle views. The decor is kept neutral in shades of white and cream, with accents of colour coming through in the bright artworks of tropical flowers and palm trees that adorn the walls. Each bedroom boasts a king-size bed and air conditioning, with the master bedroom featuring access to a private palapa - perfect for relaxing with a morning cuppa or a glass of something sparkling on a balmy evening. All of the en-suite rooms have modern walk in shower facilities, and feature a range of Mayan-inspired toiletries for guests to enjoy. The decor follows the theme throughout the villa, with a light colour palette and accents featuring natural raw materials for a beachy boho vibe

Casa Miramar is located in Tulum, Mexico, one of the less ‘touristy’ areas of the Riviera Maya, which makes it popular with families and those looking for a truly relaxing break. Despite its quiet and laid back vibe, Tulum still benefits from being within easy distance of some of the more cosmopolitan areas, where visitors can experience some of the bars and clubs that Mexico is known for. Snorkelling, swimming, and diving are all popular activities with those staying in the area, thanks to the clear, calm waters; as is dozing in the hammocks between the palms, or lazing on the white powdery sand. The area has a slow-paced beach vibe, and guests will enjoy quiet sunset strolls along the sand, spotting the iguanas and sea turtles that call the area home.

Despite its relatively whirlwind development the area hasn’t lost its charm, and visitors come here for its beautiful beaches, perfect weather, and welcoming ambience. Perhaps the most well-known attraction in the peninsula, and right on your doorstep if you are a guest at Casa Miramar, are the incredible 1200 year old Mayan ruins. This famous attraction is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and really does need to be seen to be believed. The area is large, and is an ensemble of many greatly preserved ruins, not just the one pyramid that ends up in the guidebooks and on Instagram, so you’ll need a good couple of hours set aside to discover everything without rushing. Once you have explored this incredible place, why not get a traditional Mayan spa treatment at Hacienda Chichen’s Yaxkin Spa? Hidden away in the jungle garden you can choose to have a massage, face mask, algae body wrap, or other treatments, all based on natural Mayan cleaning and healing rituals. The perfect way to relax and indulge.

    Region

Hugging the Caribbean coastline of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, Tulum enjoys incredible white sandy beaches, ancient Mayan ruins and a bustling cultural scene. This coastal town, once a quiet fishing village, has evolved into a sought-after destination, offering a unique blend of history, natural beauty and considerable contemporary charm. Tulum has embraced sustainable tourism and many resorts showcase eco-friendly architecture that seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings. From boutique hotels to luxurious beachfront properties, these establishments often prioritize eco-conscious practices, making them a perfect choice for travellers seeking a harmonious blend of comfort and environmental responsibility. Tulum has become a global hub for wellness seekers, with numerous yoga retreats and wellness centres. Visitors can participate in beachfront yoga sessions, holistic spa treatments and meditation workshops, immersing themselves in a rejuvenating and mindful experience.

One of the most iconic attractions in Tulum is the ancient Mayan archaeological site, perched majestically on cliffs overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The well-preserved ruins include the Castillo, a towering pyramid, and the Temple of the Frescoes, adorned with intricate carvings. Visitors can explore the remnants of this once-thriving city and marvel at the ingenuity of the Mayan civilization.

Stretching along the coast, Tulum's beaches are renowned for their powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters. Playa Paraíso is a favourite among sun-seekers, offering a serene setting for relaxation and water activities. Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts can explore the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life just off the shore. A unique architectural feature of Tulum's beachfront are the charming cabanas. These rustic yet stylish thatched-roof huts provide a cozy and intimate setting, allowing guests to experience the beauty of the Caribbean Sea right at their doorstep.

The Yucatán Peninsula is dotted with cenotes, natural sinkholes formed by collapsed cave systems. In the Tulum region, cenotes such as Gran Cenote and Dos Ojos beckon adventurers with their enchanting underground landscapes. These freshwater pools provide a refreshing escape from the heat and an opportunity for snorkeling and cave exploration. For nature lovers, a visit to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site encompasses a diverse range of ecosystems, including mangroves, wetlands and coral reefs. Guided tours offer glimpses of the region's rich biodiversity, with opportunities to spot dolphins, manatees and numerous bird species. Exploring Tulum by bicycle is a popular and eco-friendly way to take in the sights. The town and its surroundings offer bike-friendly paths, allowing cyclists to traverse the area at a leisurely pace, from the archaeological site to the vibrant town centre. Families with a love for wildlife can visit the Tulum Monkey Sanctuary, where rescued monkeys and other animals are cared for. Educational tours allow children and adults alike to learn about the importance of conservation and animal welfare.

A short drive from Tulum, Akumal is known for its serene beaches and the opportunity to swim with sea turtles in their natural habitat. The laid-back atmosphere and vibrant coral reefs make it a delightful day trip destination. Inland from Tulum lies Valladolid, a colonial town steeped in history. Its characterful streets, historic churches and vibrant markets provide a glimpse into Mexico's colonial past. The nearby Cenote Zaci offers a refreshing break for those exploring the town.

Tulum beckons with open arms, inviting you to explore its rich tapestry of culture and landscapes. It will send you home with marvellous holiday memories.

    Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Casa Miramar welcomes families, and those who are holidaying with children will find the spacious interior, wide open spaces, and private pool of this villa ideal for the little ones. Of course normal precautions have to be taken with children around bodies of water, but well-supervised kids will love waking up and having the opportunity to jump straight into a luxurious pool in their own garden.

For families holidaying in this area of the Riviera Maya there is plenty on offer, besides the beaches and glorious view. Xplor, situated in Playa Del Carmen - just a short drive from the villa -  is a theme park that pre-teens, teens, and adventurous parents will love! Featuring 2 miles of zip lines, underground rivers which you can swim or raft, and amphibious vehicles that you can drive through tunnels and caverns, it will be a day out you won’t forget - just remember to bring towels and water shoes to really enjoy the day. For something more appealing to the younger children, and those who don’t enjoy getting soaking wet, Tulum Monkey Sanctuary might be more up your street. Located on a large ranch, the sanctuary is home to wild spider monkeys that you will be able to see in their natural habitat. The tours are kept small to keep it quiet and intimate, and kids will also get the chance to see burros, horses and other wildlife.

If you still haven’t had your fill of natural wonders the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO Heritage Site and area of natural beauty that is well worth bringing the children to while you are in Mexico. It is home to thousands of species of flora and fauna, including crocodiles, dolphins, monkeys, manatees, ocelots and many more. There is the chance to take a boat tour to the middle of the reserve where you can snorkel among the fish and coral before enjoying lunch on the beach.
