Overview

Ideal for Kids

Surrounded by beautiful countryside in the heart of Italy, this stunning villa is the perfect place to relax in total privacy. With a fully-equipped, modern kitchen and comfortable furnishings throughout, it feels like a home away from home. The large garden and outdoor eating area mean there is plenty of room to enjoy dinner outside in the fresh air with friends or family. The villa is just a short drive away from Spoleto, a historic town filled with picturesque winding streets and delicious Umbrian delicacies waiting to be discovered.

Spread over one floor, the villa is easily accessible for people with disabilities and spacious throughout – making it a perfect stay for family or friends. Stylish décor gives the villa an elegant feel, complimenting the magnificent scenery outside. From the large, private garden, you can admire the nearby town of Spoleto as it sits amongst a valley of greenery. Thanks to the sheltered outdoor area, complete with tables and chairs, you can enjoy alfresco dining while taking in the stunning landscape.

Explore the wonderful winding streets that connect the city, unearthing lovely restaurants and pizzerias that serve dishes that you’ll never forget. Umbrian food is known for being delicious, with chefs who pride themselves on serving fresh, traditional dishes using local ingredients. Truffles, asparagus and (of course) wine are just some of the local delicacies that are worth indulging in, with more pasta that you can shake a fork at!

Head into the centre of Spoleto, a medieval town with a fascinating history just waiting to be uncovered. Walking through the city on foot lets you fully appreciate its fascinating historical sites, such as the Romanic church of St. Ansano, an ancient Roman theatre and an amphitheatre which dates back to the 2nd century A.D.

If you’re planning to visit in the summer, make sure you attend the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. Hosted from June to early July, the festival features a wonderful array of entertainment such as opera, dance, drama, and visual arts. Listening to the opera as you drink a glass of red wine is lovely a way to soak up the Italian culture.

Holidaying in this villa lets you get a glimpse of what life is like for Umbrians. As one of our best-kept secrets, Umbria is not overrun by tourists – meaning you can take in the relaxing, slow pace of life the people of Italy enjoy. With wonderful walking or cycling routes just a few paces from your doorstep, this is certainly a picturesque getaway.

Region

Umbria has best of Italy to offer: rolling landscapes, wine, beautiful towns and villages, olive oil, expansive lakes and the food, glorious food. A holiday here can be as lazy, active, cultured and as delicious as you like.

This region is scattered with pretty, picturesque villages, while the area has a rich cultural heritage. From thermal pools to medieval cathedrals and olive oil museum, Umbria has an intriguing amount of history to discover.

Both Rome and Florence are accessible within a day trip, while the closest towns of interest would be Orvieto, the old town which is a fascinating series of winding streets, piazzas and a colourful weekly market.

History lovers will be spoilt - from the first century Roman amphitheatres to the twelfth-century duomos, to the fourteenth-century hilltop fortresses,  the glut of remnants from the medieval and Bronze Age that punctuate the region is impressive.
