Overview
La Miniera is an elegant, authentically rustic Tuscan holiday home set in a rural location, within its gorgeous grounds, within proximity to some of Northern Italy’s most preeminent cities.
La Miniera offers a prestigious, classically designed holiday home with all the independence and privacy of a secluded house, along with the broader services of a resort complex giving this home parallel status to a five-star hotel: personal chef, massage services, baby care and children’s activities, to name a few - all available for pre-booking in advance, for your comfort and convenience.
Seven bedrooms can accommodate up to fourteen guests, making this holiday home ideal for a large family, a group, or extended family; likewise, anniversaries, celebrations or even weddings can take place in this ideal, secluded and charming setting.
Entering La Miniera, guests will immediately feel the tempo drop, away from the bustle of the crowds and stresses of modern living, guests will take in the beautiful open plan living space, with its original stone floor, sublime country views and abundance of comfortable seating including the distinctive banquette-day bed.
This home is immaculately finished, with its quirks and designer flair to offer both simplicity and style, yet within such a cosy, home-like ambience. Far from being yet another sterile holiday home, La Miniera brings together original Tuscan charm, classical design and quality of raw materials, along with an abundance of personality for a home full of colour, vibrant touches and ambient quirks!
The dining space is something to write home about! A regal affair - elegant, and refined offering light and views from a double aspect through its “corridor” style set up; the exposed timber beams, beautiful high ceiling, luminous chandelier and classical art, along with the very timeless style of family dining table give this room its imperial, regal feel!
Executed immaculately for the family to come together at the end of a busy day of sightseeing to indulge in all the wonderful produce and wines of the region in warm and happy harmony.
The bedrooms retain this very classic, timeless design aesthetic, along with the touches of personality: pale lemon yellows, soft pistachio greens, dusty pinks and lavenders; the proportions are generous, the fittings are of uncompromising quality, while abundance light and views create such an airy feeling to this home.
Dining al fresco is a naturally elegant affair: the dappled foliage creates a shady al fresco dining spot on the veranda overlooking expansive grounds. The pool is set within supreme privacy, providing a beautiful setting for a refreshing morning swim, followed by fresh coffee and pastries, or simply relaxing poolside with a good book and a cold beer.
The access to services is unparalleled at La Miniera: from massages to laundry service, to well equipped gym, to partaking in cookery classes or physiotherapy, whilst the sheer natural and understated beauty of the surroundings and home itself provide a genuine Tuscan idyll, placed to enjoy the best of nature, within the most sophisticated yet cosy ambience.

Location
About the surrounding area of La MinieraGavoranno is a mountainside commune in the Province of Grosseto, in the western Italian region of Italy. Set within the Upper Maremma, in Grosseto, Gavorrano is a medieval centre next to Monte Calvo. Gavoranno was a significant mining town, with remounts of the industry visible today. Some of the old mines have been converted into large museum complexes.
The noble Pannochieschi family ran Rich in history, the land and castle of Gavorrano in the thirteenth century. The town of Gavoranno, steeped in medieval legends and tales, maintains the architectural structure that was typical in the Middle Ages: the castle, arches, gates, walls and large palaces with towers will offer a plethora of discovery for history buffs.
Amongst top attractions is the Parc Nazionale Delle Colline Metallifere: a mining park where guests can go down into the mine and take a train or walk back - offering a fascinating journey into the region’s history. The impressive Teatro Delle Rocce acts as an open theatre set by the mining site, as well as a scenic walk and tranquil little church along the way.
The Castello di Scarlino is well worth a visit: offering beautiful views, Elba island and Follonica are visible, and there’s a fantastic ice cream hut at the top.
Both Florence and Pisa are a possible day trip.
The Tuscan landscape is considered among the best that Italy has to offer, with its beautiful hills, elegant architecture, olive trees and vineyards the views at every turn are enchanting and awash with seasonally changing colours.

Region
The picturesque Siena, located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, is a mesmerising destination that encapsulates the essence of Italian culture, history, and natural beauty. With its rolling hills, charming medieval towns, and renowned art, Siena offers a captivating experience for travellers. One of the region's most famous attractions is the historic city of Siena itself, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city's unique feature is the Piazza del Campo, a stunning shell-shaped square that hosts the world-famous Palio di Siena, a thrilling horse race held twice a year. The Torre del Mangia, a towering bell tower, offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside, allowing visitors to fully appreciate Siena's historic and architectural splendour.
Tuscany
With its rolling fields, historical heritage and a cuisine that’s a delight for all the senses, it’s no wonder Tuscany is one of the most popular regions in Italy for holidaymakers. Yet even with its popularity, you can still kick back in one of our luxury villas in Tuscany and feel peace, tranquillity and the joy of seclusion.
This is one destination that really does have a little bit of everything for everyone, whether you’re travelling with family, friends or are just looking for a romantic getaway with that special someone.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesSafe and enclosed, the estate has ample space for children to roam and play. The pool will provide hours of splashy fun, and the sheer novelty of al fresco meals will have children delighted. The gardens and grounds alone, local walks and outdoor spaces will provide huge appeal for children.
Teens will be impressed by some of the additional features, such as a separate television room, and fully equipped gym.
Parents can relax knowing that there are on-site babysitting services available, and activities for children.
For day trips, among the highlights for children in Tuscany, Pinocchio Park Collodi is a great day out - Collodi is home to a theme park dedicated to Pinocchi and his adventures, with activities like literary itineraries, buildings and sculptures set amidst the greenery, art exhibitions and illustrations, puppet making workshops and more. Rather than being a Disney style park, it is more a cultural and natural environment, very Italian in style.
Pistoia zoo is located in the hills near Pistoia and is one of the most famous zoos in Italy; covering a space of seven hectares and an array of species for a fun and educational day out.
The water park, Aqua Village is located in Follonica, near Grosetto, and offers a range of slides and rides from gentle toddler splash pools to more thrill-seeker level for older children.
From hiking, to horse riding, to waterspouts, to cultural heritage, children of all ages will learn so much from a visit to Tuscany: what could be more enchanting than a day of dolphin watching in the reserve known as Pelagos Sanctuary in Viareggio, followed by a meal in a local hilltop restaurant - offering sublime, flavoursome local specialities followed by fantastic gelato and cream filled pastry treats that the region is known for.
