Restored to its former glory, Valentina Nova, is a beautiful breath-taking penthouse at the top of an old palace, located in Santa Croce district in the heart of Renaissance Florence. This impressive property benefits from a terrace that has panoramic views of the River Arno, and the original city rooftops and Oltrarno gardens. The apartment has three spacious double bedrooms, that can accommodate up to eight guests in a lot of style. For your comfort Valentina Nova has air conditioning throughout, which can be cool for the summer, or warm for the winter. For your convenience an elevator takes you to the entrance to the apartment, and complimentary Wi-Fi is including for your stay. This charming apartment has been furnished with the most elegant of pieces, the decor is a background of calm soft greys and creamy beiges, with rich highlights of distinguished blues and striking gold, whilst cool marble proliferates throughout, and original art adorns the walls.
Take the elevator to the top floor and access the apartment through a polished wooden floored, high ceiling, mirrored wall, vestibule that leads directly into the lavender blue dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully fitted with Bosch appliances, including an oven and hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher, and that must-have morning coffee maker. There is a dining set with a banquette and chairs to seat six guests. The adjacent living area has a smart L-shaped soft grey sofa bed with matching pouffes, clear glass coffee tables, a flat screen television with SKY channels, a Bose sound system, and an original painting of the iconic Brunelleschi’s Dome. Take the steps through the French doors to the furnished pergola-topped terrace, with views of terracotta rooftops and Oltrarno, ideal for an alfresco cocktail and catch up.
The apartment is home to three beautifully appointed bedrooms. The principle blue and white master bedroom has an extra-large double bed, that can be converted into twin beds, a mirrored wardrobes, an ensuite marble bathroom with a bath tub and shower, and a tiny terrace overlooking a private courtyard. The second turquoise trim bedroom has raised twin beds, a sofa bed, a built-in wardrobe, with a separate Art Deco Travertine luxury marble bathroom. The third bedroom has the golden touch, with an extra-large wrought iron canopied double bed, and an ensuite marble bathroom with a shower big enough for two.
There is a useful laundry room with Bosch washing machine and dryer, ideal for longer stays, and a bijou Morris decorated studio room with a double sofa bed and working desk completes the accommodation. When you vacation at Valentina Nova, staying is believing.

- The master bedroom large bed can be made into twin beds. The other beds for extra guests are a sofa bed in the second bedroom, and a sofa bed in the studio
- The terrace seating is just for two, ideal for a romantic couple’s evening alfresco

About the surrounding area of Valentina NovaValentina Nova is ideally positioned in the heart of the historical medieval city of Florence, the capital of the regional area of Tuscany, in northwest Italy. The international airport of Peretola Florence is only eleven kilometres away, a short thirty-minute drive by taxi, or there is now a direct bus and tram into the city centre.
The villa is situated in a prime spot, perfect for exploring this Renaissance city, now declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All the major iconic sights are within walking distance of the villa, and as you stroll along those well-worn stone pavements, take time to absorb the atmosphere and history that is embedded in those fourteenth century walls. Don’t miss a visit to the nearby Uffizi Gallery, home to one of the world’s best Renaissance art collections, housing superb sixteenth century old masters in an original building, designed by Vasari. Book in advance a tour of the Vasari corridor, where the original art works were hidden during the occupation in the world wars. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, where you can admire the ornate icons, and walk Brunelleschi’s dome. Don’t forget to look at in detail the doors of the San Giovanni Baptistery. Marvel at Michelangelo’s David at the Academia, before visiting the church of Santa Croce to wonder at the restored Cimabue’s crucifix.
After all that culture, sit down in one of the cafes in the Piazza dell Repubblica, before shopping for handmade leather goods in San Lorenzo market. If all that walking has tired you out, hop on a Vespa Tour and take a trip around the city. For the fashionistas the Gucci, and Salvatore Ferragamo Museums are a must-see. For those who prefer smells to bells, then a visit to the convent of Santa Maria Novella for their handmade soaps or partaking in a perfume masterclass, is on the cards.
Cross the River Arno via the nearby Ponte alle Grazie to the Giardano Bardini and the Bardini Museum, famous for its sculptures. Or stroll along the riverbank and cross at the Ponte Vecchio, and stop to bargain for handcrafted goods at the local stalls. Take a walk to the magnificent Pitti Palace, rich with paintings by Raphael, Rubens, and Titian, before a stroll around the adjacent Boboli Gardens. The Brancacci Chapel and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Santo Spirito can feed your soul, whilst the Piazzale Michelangelo is perfect for a cappuccino pit stop.
Foodies will be in seventh heaven with pizza, pasta, and gelato cooking classes, and for the wine lovers, there is a Chianti Safari across the Tuscan countryside. In the evening dine out on the local dish of a Bistecca all Florentina, a superb sharing steak served in all the best restaurants. For fabulous fashion at fabulous prices make your way to the out-of-town Barbierino Designer Outlet. And for those that fancy a day trip, take a tour to Siena, San Gimignnano, the leaning tower of Pisa, or the Cinque Terre five village coastal hiking trail.

Best Suited For: All AgesValentina Nova is a great place to vacation with kids. The villa can be found in the centre of historic Florence, with all the major sights within walking distance. Cross the River Arno at the nearby Ponte all Grazie to the Giardano Bardini, or stroll down the riverbank and to the Ponte Vecchio which leads to the Pitti Palace, and the family friendly Boboli Gardens, where they can explore and picnic on the lovely lawns and grounds.
The Natural History Museum is stuffed full of animal, vegetable, and rock fossils they will find fascinating. The Uffizi Gallery is within walking distance, book a private family tour, which is especially designed for children, it is short and shows them the highlights of the collection, and will whet their appetite for art.
All aboard the Florence Tour Bus for a guided tour around the Renaissance city. Stop off at the Leonardo da Vinci interactive museum, with its 3D models, multimedia displays, and detailed engineering, military, and flying machines, invented by the maestro himself.
Your younger ones will enjoy a visit to the Palazzo Vecchio puppet shows, where they can dress up as a Medici, and go on treasure hunts, before riding the carousel in the Piazza della Repubblica. Whilst your older ones will love a Vespa or e-scooter tour whizzing around the city, and stopping off the Museo Galileo, with its ancient telescopes and original gadgets.
For your adrenalin seekers, take them on a sky walk of Brunelleschi’s dome on top of the Cathedral, where they can enjoy the panoramic views of medieval Florence. All the family can partake in an Italian cooking class, before an evening on the Illuminated Florence bus tour, where you get to eat pizza and brightly coloured Italian gelato.
