Contemporary Villa Zaffiro is surrounded by tree-dotted land, with the beaches of Sicily's east coast just a short drive away. This spacious villa is an ideal base for exploring the region's ancient history and picture-postcard beaches.
Seven-bedroom Villa Zaffiro offers a series of luxurious rooms that boast modern technology, style and quality. Large windows and walls lined with glass doors give clear views over the surrounding land and soaring hills. The interior is white and fresh throughout, with modern furniture and artwork adding colour and personality.
The main house offers a lounge, dining space, kitchen and outside area, with the views from the first-floor terrace peaceful and sweeping. The annexe on the ground floor offers two extra bedrooms with their own bathroom with shower. The two annexe are not communicating and have access from the outside, to guarantee extra privacy. The garden features terraces for al-fresco drinks and dinners, with a large swimming pool set within its immaculate, tree-studded lawns.
Every one of the bedrooms feels light and soothing, with most also having a en-suite bathroom with shower. Especially sumptuous is the master bedroom with in-room Jacuzzi-bath, large flat screen TV and doors that open straight onto the pool terrace.
As if the villa didn't feel exclusive enough, there's also a wellness area with sauna and treadmill. Work up a sweat before cooling off in the shower or with a refreshing dip in the pool.
Drive down to the coast and the sparkling sea from in just 10 minutes. Family-friendly lidos, pretty pebbled stretches and clear waters await.
Around 30 minutes away by car is the town of Taormina. Take in ancient sites such as Greco-Roman theatre, Teatro Antico di Taormina and enjoy a cable car ride down to the pebbled beach at Mazzarò. Also be sure to visit the offshore nature reserve of Isola Bella.
Roughly an hour's drive from the villa is iconic Mount Etna. Explore its crater-like terrain on foot and take the cable car right up to the summit.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa ZaffiroFrom its pretty gardens and the tree-dotted land that surrounds it, it's just a 10-minute drive from Villa Zaffiro to the coast, beaches and lidos. Amenities such as shops, supermarkets and restaurants are also a short drive away in nearby villages.
Lido Aurora has a sand/pebble beach, with calm waters for swimming and bars selling drinks and snacks. You can also hire sun loungers and umbrellas for relaxing in comfort. Other highlights include Lido Oasi Garden Beach and Marina di Cottone, which is near the Nature Reserve of Fiumefreddo, and Fondachello.
The 16th-century fortress, Schisò Castle, overlooks the scenic bay of Giardini Naxos and is just moments from the fascinating Museum and Archaeological Area of Naxos. This ancient region is just 15 minutes away by car.
Alcantara River Park is a dream for nature lovers, with the crystal-clear waters of Alcantara River flowing freely through dramatic gorges. Body raft down the river for an adrenaline-filled way to experience the power of nature. Afterwards, relax on one of the small beaches nearby.
Taormina is roughly a 30-minute drive from the villa. This hilltop town offers sweeping views over the coast and Ionian Sea and boasts a long, rich history which can be seen in its ancient sites. One of the most impressive is the Greco-Roman theatre, Teatro Antico di Taormina. From this site, the views over to Mount Etna are simply stunning. While you're visiting the town, also take the cable car down to the pebbled stretch at Mazzarò. And the idyllic, rocky nature reserve of Isola Bella is just offshore.
Reach majestic Mount Etna in around an hour, with the still-active volcano well worth the extra drive time. Its rugged terrain is great for hiking and a cable car takes you right up to the summit.

Younger children will love Etnaland, with this theme park being home to a range of roller coasters, slides, water rides and wave pool.

Stunning & stylish villa
Villa Zaffiro is a stunning villa, stylish and with all the amenities. Spacious interiors and exteriors, tasteful decoration in a contemporary Mediterranean style, and all the amenities (swimming pool, solarium, gym, sauna, barbecue area, etc…) really do make a difference for a holiday with family or friends.

Beautiful
The representative for the owners, Alessandra, was wonderful. Patiently waiting for us (with our changing schedule) and greeting our arrival with a lovely welcome gift. She was full of information and suggestions, confirming our dinner reservations, arranging for a car pick up back to Catania, and lots of restaurant and shopping suggestions. House is beautiful, particularly the grounds.
