Villa La Sabbia is a charmingly renovated country home just outside Ispica for six guests, set within luscious gardens and brimming with locally authentic flavour. Executed with natural raw materials, local stone and sloping timber ceilings, this single storey home is a rustic abode, which also offers guests every comfort for a seamless stay.
The pretty gardens provide abundant space for stylish outdoor living, with a stone-paved veranda complete with billowing curtains and night lighting and green sloping lawns fragrant with blossoming plants. Tall palm trees and a fairy-tale style wishing well offer finishing touches. A generously-sized pool is framed by elegant loungers, ideal for reclining and enjoying the tranquillity around.
The interiors offer a blend of modern style and traditional Sicilian country home, with vibrant neutrals and soft duck egg blues offset with exposed timber beams and original touches. A well-equipped kitchen-dining room sets the scene for lively group meals while the large living space is delightfully finished with full-height ceilings, comfortable furnishings and natural timber, with original flat-tile flooring throughout.
The serene bedrooms offer restorative calm and each is decked out in pristine whites with accents of jade green, buttercup yellows and taupes. With decorative flourishes at every turn, the attention to detail is evident, from soft lamps to scatter cushions to wall art to sprigs of dried flowers. Just a ten-minute drive from the amenities of Ispica, and around 5km from the beach, this delightful home offers the best that the region has to offer. Ispica is set a little inland from the stunning South-Eastern coast of Sicily, overlooking the sea and surrounded by lush vegetation and was re-built after the 1963 earthquake. Known for its 13 kilometre long caves, baroque architecture and historical monuments, notably the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, dripping with the fresco paintings of prolific regional artist Olivio Sòzzi, this region offers a taste of authentic Sicily.
The Val di Noto is known for its UNESCO cities, Sicilian baroque style, pre-historic excavations and stunning coastline, where the Ionian and Mediterranean Seas meet.

About the surrounding area of Villa La SabbiaNestled between Noto and Modica, only a few kilometres from the historically beautiful town of Ispica, Villa La Sabbia is in a tranquil spot, while the closest amenities are just a ten-minute drive away and the beach is 5km away.
The area around Ispica is renowned for its prehistoric caves and the beautiful coastal resorts such of Santa Maria del Focallo and Ciriga (both ten minutes drive) where visitors can enjoy unspoilt blue flag beaches and clear waters. Ciriga in particular, offers lovely coastal scenery with white cliffs and rock formations in the sea and the whole coast has long sandy beaches.
Ispica is known for its prehistoric monuments and in particular, the famous 13km long “Cava Ispica.” Re-built in the eighteenth century, the most prominent church is Santa Maria Maggiore, known for its beautiful frescos, pretty portico that looks onto the piazza and decorative flourishes. Ispica sits on a hill surrounded by rocky canyons and wild countryside, while its honey-toned limestone architecture comes to life at “golden hour” as the sun sets. A must-see is an archaeological area known as Parco Forza, reached by 100 steps carved into the rocks.
Nearby Noto, Ragusa and Scicli have similar flamboyant, classically Sicilian style. The stunning city of Noto has UNESCO World Heritage status for its beautiful baroque architecture, while Scicli has an impressive castle and spectacular beaches. Modica is an elegant town built up the sides of a gorge, known for being the location for Inspector Montalbano and its beautiful centrepiece church, San Giorgio. Also famous for its Aztec chilli flavoured chocolate, Modica is home to the oldest chocolate shop in Sicily.

Superbe villa
Everything is available on site (beach towel, towels, spices, etc.) Magnificent swimming pool. Supermarket a few minutes by car. Super warm welcome. We highly recommend this villa.

The outside space was amazing
A beautiful swimming pool, plenty of room for sun loungers, a lovely garden with shaded areas, and a very spacious outdoor living area including in built barbecue and pizza oven. Checking in and checking out were both very straightforward and communication with the onsite contact and the rest of the team during the booking process and throughout our stay was excellent, prompt and very professional. Would love to stay again!!

We absolutely loved Villa La Sabbia
It was easy to find because the host met us nearby and showed us the way. There was covered parking for 2 cars and then the villa had everything we needed, the kitchen literally had everything. It was a comfortable stay for 3 mums and 3 children and made our lives easier with the great working TV and WiFi. Supermarket and takeaway pizza nearby (although a drive away) and beaches a little further. We'd definitely recommend this villa, it feels like every little touch is thought of.

Extraordinary Villa La Sabbia
Gorgeous pool! Tranquility assured! The owners are wonderful people! Them and their daughter are the quintessence of helpfulness and courtesy. The garden, I would say park, is very well looked after! Nothing is missing in the house. What can I say... having then been lucky enough to have 10 days of sun, the magic was accomplished. Rightly so, included in the Top list of the 7 most beautiful villas with swimming pool in Eastern Sicily!

Thank you for this lovely vacation. We can only report good things, from start to finish we were well informed and extremely well looked after. It could not be better. There was always someone to contact and we were regularly kept up to date with everything we needed. It couldn't be better!

A lovely stay
A wonderful property that is as good as the pictures look. You do need a car to get about but supermarket and restaurants are 5-10 drive away. We went to the Poseidon restaurant which did gorgeous pizzas. The property was very comfortable and pool area was excellent. We had to clean out the pool daily as various creatures were found in the morning. The pool cleaner did arrive one day. The owner has equipped the property very well and it was lovely to arrive with some basics stocked in the fridge and cupboards.... a very nice touch. Lots of nice touches everywhere . It made our stay a very enjoyable week.

Comfortable house and immaculate garden
Villa La Sabbia is beautiful and the photos do not exaggerate its charm. The house is very comfortable and the garden and pool are immaculate. If it is important to you then be aware you can’t walk to any shops or restaurants, bars etc. A car is essential but it is a great location to explore all the major attractions of south east Sicily!
