Masseria Contrada is a beautifully preserved Puglian farmhouse. This character-filled home is a great place to stay to experience the true Puglia and is a mere 5km away from the closest town and beaches. The Masseria has been renovated to the highest standards, so you can experience the style of a boutique hotel with all the space of a holiday villa.
If you are looking for the perfect place to stay with a larger group of friends or extended family, this vast country home is an idyllic choice. With multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces, six elegant bedrooms and even an independent apartment, this house offers plenty of room for your party.
As you step inside, you will be greeted by modern, atmospheric rooms filled with clever design details and contemporary furnishings. The living room is vast, with comfortable velvet sofas and a flat-screen TV. This room opens to the dining room with lots of small dining tables. There is also a mezzanine level where you will find a serene sitting room, an excellent spot for reading your favourite book. The fully-fitted kitchen has everything you need to make a delicious Italian feast for your group.
Masseria Contrada has five bedrooms in the main building and a separate apartment with a sixth bedroom. The apartment would suit those wishing to travel as a group but wishing for a bit of their own space, equipped with a living room, kitchen, bedroom area and en-suite bathroom. The five other bedrooms are equally inviting, with double beds, sofas or armchairs, a fridge and a TV in each, plus an en-suite bathroom.
Outdoors, the home has a covered terrace. Tuck into local pastries, bread and meats as you sip your morning coffee overlooking the gorgeous central courtyard. The garden also boasts two pretty pergolas with outdoor sofas, a lush green lawn, a wood-burning pizza oven and a private swimming pool.
Masseria Contrada enjoys a wonderful location just 5km away from the coastal town of Torre Canne with its beaches, hot springs, shops and restaurants. This is just one of countless villages and towns dotted along the coastline and throughout Puglia’s hills. Some of the others you can visit nearby are the idyllic Savelletri fishing village, 10km away, and the town of Egnazia, 12km away. In addition, many of Puglia’s beloved towns and historic sites can be found within 30km of the villa.

About the surrounding area of Masseria ContradaMasseria Contrada enjoys a fantastic setting with the rugged hills to one side and the glistening Adriatic Sea to the other. You can easily visit the nearby beaches and towns while also making the most of the rural landscape for scenic walks or bicycle rides.
The villa is nestled in a landscape of ancient olive groves and farmland, but you will not be isolated here as the small coastal town of Torre Canne is just 5km away. Torre Canne is a great town to have so near the Masseria as there are a range of eateries and shops here. You will also find plenty of sandy beaches lining the town, including Spiaggia di Torre Canne.
10km from the villa, you can also visit the quaint village of Savelletri, a picturesque fishing village gathered around a lively harbour and promenade. There are many cafes, shops, bars and restaurants in Savelletri and a range of pebbled and sandy beaches. Savelletri is also known for its golf facilities; golf lovers can visit the brilliant nearby San Domenico Golf Club to play a few rounds.
In addition to the endless coastal villages and towns, you should head inland to some hilltop towns and cities that enjoy amazing views. The city of Ostuni is one of Puglia’s star attractions. It is located 19km away by car and is elevated on a hilltop looking out over the valleys below. This whitewashed city is known as “the white city” as it dazzles beautifully in the light as the sun hits the buildings. Ostuni is a city with pretty, winding streets filled with craft shops, cafes, and traditional trattorias serving delicious local dishes. You can explore historic churches here and walk the perimeter of the old town walls, which are now used as a scenic walking trail. You can easily spend the whole day here pottering around in the museums and galleries, while there is a wonderful archaeological park just outside town.
If you would like to visit one of Puglia’s iconic Trulli towns, which are packed with white, cone-shaped Trullo buildings, you could visit Alberobello, 32km away or Locorotondo, 23km away.

This is the place to go if you want to treat the kids to a fun-filled day out, as there is both a theme park and a zoo here!

This is a wonderful place, with an equally wonderful staff. The location is superb, being very close to some of the major highlights of Puglia, and has a nice view of both the sea and of Ostuni. The masseria feels historic and authentic, yet refined and comfortable, with some modern comforts.
Tucked away in an olive grove, you’ll find the location serene and want to spend many hours relaxing by the pool as you cool off from a day of exploring this gorgeous region. The rooms are tasteful, spacious, and cozy, and the daily cleaning is thorough. Pro tip: watch the daily sunset from the terrace, taking in the breathtaking pinks and oranges of the building, which compliment the sky in that way only Puglia can do.
The staff are a big part of the experience, greeting you with warm smiles and professional service. They are always present to help make your stay pleasant, but never in your way. There is a relaxed come-and-go sort of vibe here, with privacy in blissful excess. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and all of our requests were honoured in a timely fashion.
