About the surrounding area of Casolare OstuniCasolare Ostuni is nestled six kilometres from Ostuni centre, and about a twenty-minute drive from the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic coast.
Brindisi airport is about thirty-five minutes drive.
Nature lovers will enjoy taking guided hikes through the surrounding hills, olive groves and woodland, or - with the sea so close by - sailing and diving is always an option.
Casolare Ostuni is in the “heel” of Italy, in the very heart of Apulia with its beautiful soft light and far reaching horizons.
The region is known for its olive oil production, as evidenced by the surrounding stretches of olive groves as well as its distinctive white-washed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and hundreds of kilometres of Mediterranean coastline.
The capital Bari is a vibrant port and university town, whilst Lecce is the ‘Florence of the south’ - known for its baroque architecture and “Trulli” - stone huts with cone-shaped roofs that were originally homes; today they can be visited in their preserved form, and provide something of a fairy tale-esque experience for younger members of the group!
Ostuni has a bustling and vibrant centre, perched on a hill; it is characterised by white, flat-topped houses across a labyrinth of tiny streets and alleys. Steeped in history, Ostuni cathedral combines Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine elements. Ostuni is known locally as “the white city,” it overlooks the Valle d’Itria which is known as one of Puglia’s most beautiful areas.

Wonderful and Tranquil
From start to finish the owner and his team made every effort to ensure we had a fab holiday, from help booking a boat trip to massages, and was super helpful! The Villa is beautiful, super clean with all amenities, the pool and outdoor area is superb and it is the quietest place we have stayed with only the crickets chirping! We had a wonderful time at the villa. It has been designed and restored with a lot of care and attention, so it has all the modern luxuries with the charm and character of traditional buildings.

If only we could have stayed longer!
We have just returned from a fantastic trip.
From start to finish, the owner was extremely helpful and provided great contacts such as taxi service as well as recommendations on where to eat and what to do.
The house is beautiful and exactly as shown in the pictures. We had lovely weather so was able to make use of the outside pool and lounge areas which were ever so relaxing. The surrounding area is a short car journey away but there is plenty to do and see.
If we had any issues we would contact the host who looks after the property for the owner, and she was also extremely helpful. If only we could have stayed longer! Thank you. -

We had a great stay. It is a beautiful place and the pictures don’t lie - it looks as dreamy as that!
What made a great difference to our stay was how helpful the owner was: for tips and recommendations but he also has a team on the ground in Ostuni that helps with check-in, grocery shopping, helped us booked a doctor for our baby when he was unwell etc. That just makes the stay a lot more easier. The owner was very responsive when we had questions, and was so friendly and helpful. We stayed for more than 3 weeks, initially it was a bit cold as we arrived early April but the house was comfy and well heated so it’s also a nice option for the colder month. Can only recommend, thank you!

It was absolutely perfect
It was absolutely perfect and just as in the pictures or even better! We (two couples and two kids, aged 4 and 1) had a wonderful time at this place.
Every second day we spent at the beach (check out the beach club‚ 'Le Palme‘) and every other day we stayed at‚ 'home' and enjoyed the heated pool and the quiet and beautiful surroundings of the villa.
One night we had a chef coming to the villa to cook for us - a very special night.
The owner and his team was super helpful all the time (they offer a lot of concierge services!) and made sure nothing was missing. -
A privilege to spend time there
Casolare Ostuni was an absolutely beautiful place to stay, it felt like a privilege to spend time there.
The whole place is gorgeous but we particularly loved the outdoor space, with so many lovely areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings, both during the day and at night. It was the perfect setting to unwind and relax. The grounds are spectacular with the olive groves, fruit trees and cactus garden and the scent of lavender and rosemary in the air. At night the grounds were lit up to look stunning.
The interiors were equally fabulous and well thought out.
The owner has taken care to provide thoughtful touches and amenities to make the stay comfortable and stylish. We found the recommendations in the welcome booklet really useful, particularly suggestions on restaurants and for day trips.
We very much appreciated how welcoming, responsive and prompt the owner was to any queries. It is rare to receive such exemplary customer service. Many thanks too to the concierge and the whole supporting team.
We would not hesitate to recommend Casolare Ostuni and would love to return one day. In the meantime we have many happy memories of our stay.

A really wonderful place
We had an amazing stay in this very special home. We particularly loved the location, nestled amongst the olive trees and very private. It was so peaceful and relaxing. There is lots to do at the property - we made full use of the swimming pool and table tennis - but there are also lots of interesting places to visit nearby. The owner and his team were super helpful throughout our stay. The home is in excellent condition with all the modern conveniences that a make a stay very comfortable and easy with two young children. A really wonderful place in a lovely part of Italy, we highly recommend a stay here!

The villa is beautiful, we had a really relaxing time, it’s very peaceful. Ostuni is only a short drive away and is stunning, great views, bars and restaurants. The owner gave me some great tips on beach clubs, local places to dine and a great private chef. I highly recommend.

So unique and special
Absolute gem tucked away in a beautiful olive grove just 5-10 minutes from the beautiful city of Ostuni. We were a family of 2 generations (4 adults) and 2 small children and the villa was the perfect oasis for us to spend the week. The house itself was beautifully renovated and decorated but kept its original character. And the outside living areas make this villa so unique and special. Honestly the pictures are amazing but in person it’s even more magical. If this is available, book it without hesitation! Lastly, the host was so helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Beautiful and comfortable
Hands down the best host. Communicating was great and when we had difficulty finding restaurants for lunch during low season, he quickly confirmed the available restaurants personally and helped us a lot. The villa is beautiful and comfortable, it was a shame that it was too cold for us to jump into the pool, overall a very good stay.

A special place
This is such a special place. It is surrounded by beautiful olive trees and very quiet. His place has been completely renovated and it has a well-balanced mixture of rich Italian culture and modern finish. It’s so beautiful. We enjoyed the outdoor space very much as well. He has a pool, BBQ grill and another outdoor space with a dining table and chairs. We ate our breakfast outside everyday.
Not only his place is wonderful but he is such a great host. After we booked his place, he sent us all the restaurants and places he recommends and we were able to plan accordingly. He also helped us arrange a pasta making class and a bike tour. (Both were amazing and I highly recommend you do it!). The host also helped us book a few restaurants as it was difficult to communicate due to a language barrier. His response was very fast and responsible.
It was our first time to visit Ostuni and I’m so glad that we stayed here. It was such a beautiful vacation! Thank you! -
THE place to stay in Puglia
Look no further - this is THE place to stay in Puglia. The owner was incredibly helpful with everything during our stay - he even helped book a PCR test, a pasta class and a private chef. He made everything a breeze, which was great for us planning a group trip from Canada. The house itself is stunning and perfectly equipped. I wish we could have stayed for another week!

The house is outstanding
To be honest, I was not sure to review the property of the owner. Its one of this secret places you should keep for yourself. The house is outstanding. The owner is indescribable helpful and kind. To say it with the words of our son: Mummy we have been so many times in Italy, but this holiday was the best ever.

Everything was great
Everything was great, the place is perfect to explore Puglia, the house is perfectly equipped and beautiful. Being there after Christmas we enjoyed the heating since it was quite chilly. In Summertime, I imagine that the pool, the barbecue and the terraces will be great to pass the evenings. The host is very much involved to make sure everything is alright. Local organisation with Grazia and Vincenzo is perfect.

Amazing
This villa was amazing. We stayed in the first week of June 2019. Mario, the owner, did an amazing job updating this farmhouse into a piece of heaven. All the details inside and out are like looking at an art museum. I stayed with my wife, toddler, and my parents. Plenty of room both inside and outside. The new outdoor living space was great and we ate dinner out there every night. There are so many ways to cook, between the induction stove, or charcoal grill. My parents enjoyed strolling through the olive grove each day. The pool was perfect for cooling off in during the heat of the day. I thought we might need the pool to be heated, but it gets plenty of sun and was not needed. Super convenient location to Ostuni, the market, and many other central Puglia attractions such as Alberobello and the beach clubs. Mario was extremely responsive before during and after the visit, and in my opinion, went way above and beyond ensuring we had a great visit. He had spot on recommendations for cooking classes and beaches which we enjoyed very much. Grazia, the property manager was waiting for us at the villa and gave us a tour and showed us how to use everything. She even arranged an incredible dinner at the house on the night we arrived, with a local chef and waiter. We cannot wait to go back, and I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Puglia.

We loooved this villa
We loooved this villa and didn't want to leave. It is hard to believe but the pictures don't actually do this place justice. Major points that need mentioning: Mario is a great host, his communication was superb and very welcoming, the villa has great location for exploring Val d'Itria - everything from Ostuni to Matera, the pool is heated which is a big plus when coming off season, so many seating areas to choose from to lounge in during the day and night, great supermarket 5 min drive away - with italian groceries being so good, you don't even need to go to a restaurant to eat and drink well.

Mario is a great host. We were welcomed by the lovely and very friendly Grazia. Both Mario and Grazia responded fast to our messages. Their service level is very high. The house is super great! Nice surroundings, nice and quality finishings. We enjoyed eating outside in the morning and evening sun. Large garden with beautiful olive trees. The location is perfect, Ostuni is very close-by and so is the supermarket. We had a great and relaxing time.

Loved every minute of it
Our stay at Casolare Ostuni couldn’t have been better. We loved every minute of it. The property is beautiful, the house spotlessly clean and elegant. We really couldn’t have asked for better. Mario was a huge help - offered fabulous suggestions for restaurants, best beaches, local sites and activities. Travelling with teenagers can be a little trying, but not this time. The whole family had a ball. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Perfect accommodation
It was perfect accommodation for two families with kids ranging from 4 to 17 year olds. The villa is very beautiful, comfortable and provides for a true authentic experience of Puglia region. Hosts were very accommodating and lovely. We will definitely come back!

Fantastic
This villa was fantastic. It was well-equipped. There were 3 outdoor seating areas to enjoy including the great pool area. The air-conditioning worked well as did the internet. Check-in and check-out were seamless. If you had questions during your stay, they were very quick to respond. A mid week cleaning was included. Mario could not have been more helpful in suggesting restaurants, sight seeing, or any request we had.

More beautiful than in the photos
We had the most fabulous stay at Marios’s house in Puglia. The location was excellent for visiting the area, Marios’s recommendations of day trips and restaurants were superb and we even had a chef come cook for us one night which was incredible. The house has multiple outdoor areas which were perfect for different times of the day and great if you have a bigger group. The house itself is even more beautiful than in the photos, perfectly clean and super stylish. We cannot wait to come back and cannot recommend this house more highly! Thanks to Mario and Grazia for making our holiday so special.

Feel welcome from the moment you walk in
This is a wonderful, stylish, and well-cared for villa that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Mario is a generous and considerate host and has provided plenty of information about the local area as well as about Puglia in general. The property is beautiful and rich of wonderful details. The beds and the pillows are very comfortable; the AC units in all rooms are definitely a plus, and the house is really clean; we loved the little sample toiletries that were provided along with the freshly laundered towels. The location is very convenient for exploring most of Puglia's major sights.

A gorgeous villa, the perfect getaway. Modern and clean with a magnificent pool and fabulous outdoor spaces. Centrally located to explore the region. Mario is a fantastic host , great recommendations and prompt responses. Exceptional value for money, you would be unable to get a hotel room in nice hotel for the price of this entire villa. This is the second time I stay at this property, and I am sure I will come again. Thanks to the additional wing - recently built - and other improvements, the house is now even bigger and more comfortable. The veranda is huge and offers plenty of shade. The pool heater is definitely a huge plus, especially when the weather is not that warm. Everything is always perfectly maintained and clean. Simply outstanding.

Unforgettable!
Wow, what a magical place! Beautifully restored and rich of elegant details. The house is clean, perfectly maintained both inside and outside, and only few minutes from the centre of Ostuni. The location is perfect to visit Valle d’Itria, and all the other beautiful villages in the area. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the house offers plenty of space. The veranda is huge and we spent hours, at night, in front of the outdoor fireplace. The outdoor facilities are spectacular and very functional. The pool heater allowed us to take advantage of the sunny days and enjoy a swim even in April. The Wi-Fi connection, which covers the entire olive grove, works great. Mario has been a lovely host and from the moment we made the reservation the communication has been very smooth; he gave us many hints about local places to visits, and also helped us organising a dinner with a chef at the property. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!
