What Oliver loves…
- Rustic interiors brimming with local charm
- Beach, bars and restaurants all within 2km
- Popular Gallipoli is only 20 mins away
- Casa del Bosco is an ideal home for families, with safely enclosed and ample outdoor space, comprising lawns, dining porch and pool
Casa del Bosco is a radiant home just a short walk from the centre and beach of Marina di Mancaversa, with famous Gallipoli being a 20-minute drive away. This beautiful holiday house is set within elegant, private grounds, offering a cooling retreat from the bustle of crowds within a refreshing oasis of swaying palm trees and understated interior style.
A glistening pool is framed by a chic patio and timber gazebo offering shade and a stylish spot to recline for breakfast after a refreshing morning swim, or for a glass of evening wine. Exceptionally private and safe, set behind enclosed gates surrounded by walls in local stone housing romanesque alcoves with charming statues looking across a spacious forecourt. Overlooking the lawns is a sedate balcony with timber sloped roof and ornate balustrades, leading to a further al fresco dining area beneath covered porch with lighting and the scent of the evergreens.
The interiors at Casa del Bosco have a low-key, cosy feel, with panelled timber walls and solid timber flooring, there is a chalet feel to this home. The kitchen is simple, yet contemporary and well-equipped, filled with natural light and views across the pool and lawns, whilst the dining room is delightfully traditional with wooden dresser and artwork depicting the flora and fauna of the region.
Casa del Bosco can accommodate up to nine guests across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. With interesting artefacts, exposed timber sloping ceilings and characterful artwork, this is a veritable home-from-home, unfussy and unpretentious, three simply executed yet comfortable bedrooms offer serenity and tranquillity for optimal restoration.
Casa del Bosco is a rustic home, in a secluded setting, ideal for those who seek a peaceful retreat, a comfortable haven, with abundant local flavour and access to some of the most beautiful parts of Puglia on its doorstep, from Gallipoli to Santa Maria di Leuca and more.

Casa del Bosco is located a-few-minute drive from the former fishing village of Marina di Mancaversa, set on the coastline of Puglia’s Ionian Sea. Mancaversa, as it is known locally, has a very local feel, off the tourist trail and ideal for family travel. There is a lovely waterfront promenade lined with cedar trees.
Gallipoli is only 16 km distance; Gallipoli, meaning beautiful city in Greek is a summer escape known for being surround by water on all sides, with a longstanding fishing history and seafood featuring heavily in the cuisine. The centro storico is stunningly pretty, with winding alleyways, artisan boutiques and endless eateries.
At a further forty-five kilometres visitors will reach Santa Maria di Leuca, Puglia's southern-most tip. Located in the “heel” of Italy, Puglia is known for its wonderful soft light and far reaching horizons; with the Ionian Sea on one side and the Adriatic on the other, there are miles upon miles of golden beaches.
The region is known for its olive oil production, as evidenced by the surrounding stretches of olive groves as well as its distinctive white-washed hill towns, centuries old farmland and hundreds of kilometres of Mediterranean coastline.
The capital Bari is a vibrant port and university town, whilst Lecce is the ‘Florence of the south’ - known for its baroque architecture and “trulli” - stone huts with cone shaped roofs that were originally homes; today they can be visited in their preserved form, and provide something of a fairy tale-esque experience for younger members of the group!

Marina di Mancaversa
There’s a reason Puglia is the region of the moment, or rather several: the excellent food, exuberant architecture dotted in the South, the breathtaking coastline and heaps more. Puglia is much bigger than you might first expect, but you’ll get both a wonderful and varied Italian experience here.Use our travel guide as a nifty sidekick (think of us like the Robin to your Batman) to help you plan the holiday of a lifetime.
And don’t forget we’ve got a selection of villas in Puglia that will add that extra special touch to your trip.
From zoo safari, to cliff jumping, to water parks to exploring enchanting trulli, the region around Marina di Mancaversa is rich with opportunity for children.
Puglia, the “heel” of Italy, is a family friendly destination; whether it be hilltop or coastal towns, long sandy beaches with clear waters and the beautiful coastline, as well as the sumptuous rustic local cuisine, children will be welcome!
Southern Italians are very family-minded, and highchairs and children’s cutlery will be provided in most restaurants, whilst the piazzas in the evening are full of youngsters roaming and playing together whilst their parents watch on from courtyard al fresco restaurants.
For days out, families can take advantage of the zoo safari, Fasanolandia. Children will be thrilled to be so close to big cats roaming free, with giraffes bending down to peer into the car windows and monkeys jumping on the bonnet.
For scuba diving and snorkelling, there are multiple water sports centres. Underwater exploration is so accessible in the calm, warm seas of southern Italy.
