With the beaches and historic centre of Lerici under within walkable distance, Villa Stellata is a wonderful place to stay for those looking for a relaxed break on Italy’s Ligurian coast. While staying here, you can discover hiking routes and picnic spots in the nearby countryside, or head out on a boat trip to the Cinque Terre villages. It is hard to imagine a more perfect location for a trip with friends or family.
The home sits within a gated garden in a residential area which is filled with olive groves and pretty villas. From the terrace and throughout the house, you will be able to look out at the dazzling blue sea in the Gulf of Poets which is just a stone’s throw away.
The villa is a modern home which offers guests everything they could need for a relaxing stay. The house is air conditioned for your comfort, there is Wi-Fi throughout and the flatscreen TV is ideal for watching films together in the evening. On top of helpful gadgets, the home has elegant and contemporary interiors and restful bedrooms with memory foam mattresses to afford you a great night’s sleep.
The indoor living space here is all set within an L-shaped room where everyone can come together for drinks or snacks. This space offers a high-end kitchen with all of the appliances you would need for cooking up a meal for your party, alongside a living space with TV and a sofa, which doubles up as a sofa bed. If you wish to eat indoors, you can make use of the breakfast bar.
There are three bedrooms available to guests, two of these are within the main house, while the third is located in an annexe in the garden. In total, the house can accommodate 11 guests.
As Liguria enjoys a lovely climate, you are likely to spend much of your time outdoors and will be thrilled to find a tiered garden when you step outside of the home. On the first of the home’s terraces there is a covered dining area as well as a welcoming jacuzzi, then up the stairs there is a heated swimming pool, lined with sun loungers. This fantastic space looks out over the sea and the historic town below.
When you want to dine out in the evenings or do a spot of shopping, Lerici’s centre is just a stone’s throw away! While staying here it is not entirely necessary to bring a car, as you can walk to the town centre and the beaches and reach La Spezia by bus. If you would like to bring a car however, you can take day trips to neighbouring Tuscany and enjoy serene afternoons discovering charming hilltop towns.
Lerici is a town with plenty to see and do as well as lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and impressive beaches. You can find even more amenities and attractions in La Spezia which is a city set just 11km away. La Spezia is also where you can board the ferry to reach the stunning Cinque Terre villages.
What you should know…
- Villa Stellata’s lovely garden is set over two levels connected by stairs and will not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
- One of the three bedrooms is located within an annexe which opens out on to the garden, this room would suit a couple seeking a little privacy.
- The villa is located within walking distance of Lerici town centre and there are bus stops nearby, but if you would like to bring a car to explore more of Liguria, there is on-site parking available.

About the surrounding area of Villa StellataVilla Stellata is a modern and elegant home in a setting which has it all; while staying here you can take in amazing sea views and access the town of Lerici on foot, while also being perfectly located for day trips to nearby La Spezia and the famous Cinque Terre villages.
When you wish to discover the charms of the nearest town, Lerici’s centre is just a stone’s throw away. Lerici is a delightful place to have so close and is a brilliant base for seeing more of Liguria and neighbouring Tuscany. Close enough to spend time at the Cinque Terre villages, while being far enough away to offer a relaxing location, Lerici is a much-loved destination which you are sure to be enchanted by. The historic coastal town has a fantastic range of shops and restaurants which line the lively Piazza Garibaldi which is the main square and the pretty, winding streets. The top attractions here include the imposing 12th century castle, the Jewish ghetto and a Roman watch tower. On top of these sites, there are also Renaissance villas and ancient churches dotted around, all of these create a diverse town with a rich history. In addition to the atmospheric centre, Lerici is known as a hub for writers and poets, with the bay here known as the “Gulf of Poets.” The breathtaking vistas once served as inspiration in the works of Percy Shelley and Lord Byron, and even today writers flock here to learn about the literary history of region and to take part in writing retreats. After a busy morning visiting some of the sights, why not unpack your beach towel and sunglasses and lounge on the incredible Venus Azure beach which is just one of the beaches available in the area. This gorgeous beach has been given Blue Flag status, so you will be sure of safe waters and a high standard of cleanliness.
For a wider range of shops, markets and eateries, the bustling city of La Spezia is a splendid place to visit and is just 11km away by car. La Spezia is a thriving and authentic city which is where the locals come to shop and work rather than a tourist spot. This means you will find authentic regional dishes here and you can sit in a street-side café enjoying a lazy brunch watching the world go by. There are a huge selection of historic churches and museums here as well as a castle hailing from the 1300s, so you will need at least a full day to take everything in. If you would like to visit the beloved Cinque Terre villages, you can do so by taking a ferry from La Spezia. The Cinque Terre are five, incredibly beautiful and protected fishing villages which cling to the coastline dramatically. The closest village Riomaggiore is just 45-minutes away by boat. You could opt to spend a slow day here, or you could visit a few of the villages in one day. It is best to arrive by boat or by train, as some of the villages cannot be reached by car.

There are stunning beaches, child-friendly restaurants and historic attractions within walking distance of the villa, so those looking for a car-free trip or to take it slow, will find lots to occupy the kids nearby without having to drive very far.
If you have slightly older children with you, who would like see history come alive before their eyes, why not visit the city of La Spezia which is 11km away. La Spezia is home to a wide range of museums which are a great place to visit during the hottest parts of the day, so you can discover some fascinating exhibitions while keeping cool. The 14th century Saint Giorgio castle is a great place to start as you can wander around the castle and also head to the archaeological museum which is set within the building. La Spezia also has a naval museum and rail museum so there is something for everyone.
