Moments away from Aselinos Beach on Skiathos’ north-western coast, Villa Alexio 1 enjoys a fine location. With the nearby crystal blue waters and golden sands flanked by greenery, you have an idyllic spot right on your doorstep, and are within a 20-minute drive of other island highlights like Koukounaries Beach, Banana Beach and Skiathos town itself.
The property offers its own private pool and spacious garden, with a poolside terrace decked out with sun loungers and parasols. You can enjoy some time in the sun while younger guests enjoy the children’s play area, which has a slide and swings suitable for young children. With the beach just 70m away, the views are excellent too.
Inside the house, you have a spacious lounge on the upper level, complete with two sofas, an armchair and TV with DVD and satellite channels. This open-plan space also incorporates a dining area with seating for six, and an attractive kitchen with a large fridge freezer, oven and other appliances. Out on the balcony terrace, you have another table and chairs, perfect for drinks as you admire the view of the Aegean Sea.
The two double bedrooms on the lower level give you access to another balcony area beside the pool. You also have a bathroom with a spacious shower, on the upper floor. With other features including a barbecue, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi, plus free parking on site, this villa has all you will need, and it’s easy to reach – Skiathos International Airport is a 25-minute drive away.
Villa Alexio 1’s location makes it easy to get around Skiathos, exploring the dozens of beaches which are the highlight of this captivating island. The best-known of these, Koukounaries, has been rated amongst the world’s most beautiful and can get busy, while the one outside your villa, Aselinos, is quieter and charming, with its own waterfront tavern.
While Skiathos town is within easy driving distance, you may prefer to take it even easier with a boat trip down the coast. This pretty port is well worth a visit, for its relaxed dining and cool bars as well as the photogenic Old Town.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Alexio 1A wonderfully green island filled with forests and wooded hills, Skiathos is both picturesque and easy to get around. Its size means you can take in a fair bit of it in one trip – as a rough guide, a journey from Skiathos town in the south to Kastro on the northern tip would take around 30 minutes. You will find some 60 beaches dotted around the coast of Skiathos, ranging from the tourist favourites to quieter, more remote ones further away from the main town.
Skiathos town itself, otherwise known as the Chora, is an appealingly laid-back kind of place, albeit one which is now well used to visitors. The idyllic waterfront is full of Mediterranean charm, with the crystal blue waters of the Aegean only adding to it. Plenty of restaurants and bars will welcome you, but you may find some of the best are the traditional Greek tavernas tucked away elsewhere, serving up home-cooked fare that’s hard to beat.
The town has quite a few shops, selling clothing, arts and crafts and souvenirs, and you will find lots to look at around the Old Town. In addition to numerous cafés and bars, the town also boasts an open-air cinema which, given much of the movie was filmed in the region, is duty-bound to host regular screenings of Mamma Mia! If you’re a fan, this is surely the place to see it again. Another landmark you may recognise from the film is the Agios Nikolaos clock tower which overlooks the town. If you make it up there, you will be rewarded with a superb view.
The big draw for many coming to Skiathos is the beautiful beaches. You will never be too far from one; it’s just a case of choosing what you want. Rugged Lalaria and the partly naturist Banana sit alongside family-friendly beaches like Ahladies and remote outposts Kalamaki and Stigero. One of the largest and best known, Koukounaries is blessed with white sands and a pine forest backdrop, and has plenty of beach bars and restaurants close by.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe kids will love staying at Villa Alexio 1 with its outdoor pool and a play area just for them. When they are done on the swings or slide, they can enjoy a movie or TV show, with a DVD player and Wi-Fi both available. They’re well prepared for babies and toddlers – the property also has a cot and safety gate if needed for the very youngest.
If it’s one of their first holidays, Skiathos will set the bar high with its idyllic beaches and laid-back vibes. Why not take a boat tour and see this beautiful island in all its glory from the water? If you just want to get from A to B, a water-taxi is a fun way to do it, admiring the beauty of the Aegean Sea as you go.
The island isn’t packed with family attractions, but you won’t need theme parks and adventure playgrounds to have a good time together – the pretty Skiathos town is a delight to wander around, stopping off at a café, checking out the souvenir shops or taking it easy down on the waterfront. You will find an outdoor cinema on Papadiamantis Street, often screening Mamma Mia! The reason being that much of the movie was filmed on Skiathos and neighbouring Skopelos.
Lively Banana Beach will be a hit with teens – there’s an energetic vibe and lots of water-sport action going on, while music pumps out from the beach bar. Skiathos town is the centre for nightlife, and you might even catch some big-name DJs if you’re around in the summer.

| End of stay cleaning included? | Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit. |

| Tax | From 1 January 2018, the Greek Ministry of Tourism will be charging a tourism tax. This will be collected from you when you get to your accommodation. The tax works out between 0.50 - 4 Euros per night. The amount you’ll pay will depend on the official rating of your accommodation. |
