Villa Argaios isn’t just the villa of your dreams, it’s the vacation destination of your wildest fantasy. This incredible eight ensuite bedroom villa, with three private pools, a fully equipped spa, bar, gym, and a couple of Jacuzzis, will simply take your breath away.

Villa Argaios is situated on a promontory rocky hillside, overlooking beautiful Kalo Livadi bay and the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea, and can be found on the southernmost tip of the cosmopolitan cool island of Mykonos. The villa can accommodate in some comfort and a lot of style, up to sixteen guests, and as all things eclectic Mykonos, that could be ideal for a large family gathering, a group of friends’ celebratory party, or a mindfulness yoga retreat. The focus of your stay here is on relaxation, wellness, healing, and catharsis, and the property has been designed with your well-being in mind, from watching the sun rise over blue seas, to seeing sunsets under Grecian skies.

This five hundred square metre villa is built over multi-levels, and from every aspect commands panoramic sea views. The exterior is classic Cycladic whitewashed walls and local stone, whilst the interiors are furnished with uber contemporary handmade pieces, the fixtures are from natural local woods, and the villa is decorated in a sophisticated palette of white, black, and shades of grey. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the villa with natural light and let in cool sea breezes. The property has parking spaces for up to six cars, and an internal elevator to transport you to the main floor. For your comfort and entertainment complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi are included throughout.

Enter the villa at the main level where you will find a light and airy spacious open plan living space. There is a large lounge with floor-to-ceiling sea view windows, lots of comfortable soft seating, and a flat-screen television. The adjacent dining area has a solid wood table with funky grey woollen chairs, ideal for some seriously impressive indoor entertaining. The huge wood and white kitchen with breakfast bar is fully equipped with all the latest appliances to cater for your holiday. There is a discreet adjacent staff kitchen, and if you want to work a small office space too. The master bedroom can be found on this floor, with a large double bed, en suite shower room, sea views, and its own private pool and Jacuzzi. Two further double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms complete the accommodation on the main floor. Take the stairs to the next level, where there are four en suite double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, and an infinity pool with a Jacuzzi, as well as its own barbeque area. On the top level, there are two autonomous suites, including a second master suite with its own spacious sitting room, and if needed a conference room.

The outdoor space must be seen to be believed. Access the terrace from the main floor, where you will find a rather impressive large Roman step entry infinity swimming pool, with a built-in ten person Jacuzzi, just imagine sitting sipping Champagne as the sun sets over the horizon. The pool surrounding sun loungers are the deepest soft grey cushioned beds you’ve ever seen. There are soft seating areas galore, from dark grey leather sunken lounges with sea views, to light dove grey cushioned days beds under shady pergolas. Dine in the built-in sushi lounge, or at the alfresco table under the twinkling stars. Set up a cinema with the 4k UHD television with Blu-Ray player, or host a party using the SONOS surround sound, serve drinks from the built-in Eye Bar, and food freshly grilled from the barbie. Work off any excess in the fully equipped gym to be found underneath the main level. Sweat it all out in the spa, have some fun in the playroom, and make some noise with the Secret World top level acoustic equipment.

Villa Argaios is located on the southern tip of magical Mykonos, part of the Cyclades islands, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The exclusive island of Mykonos measures only ten kilometres long by fifteen kilometres wide, so wherever you want to go it’s only a short drive away. The villa is just five kilometres from Mykonos airport, which is served by both local and international flight operators. If you are island hopping the nearby Naxos and Syros also have their own airports.

The new port of Mykonos is a hub of activity for those landing and departing from island hopping ferries, or super yachts cruising the Aegean, and is a quick twenty five minute drive to the villa. Villa Argaios overlooks the beautiful bay of Kalo Livadi, with its soft sandy beach, it’s a short downhill walk to the sea. The villa is near the resort town of Elia on the south coast, famous for its white sandy beaches, and stylish seafront restaurants. Nearby Agrari Beach is family-friendly, offering a selection of water sports, a playground, and cafes and bars, the south coast beaches have calmer sea waters than those in the north. Near the villa there is a r/tennis court, fitness centre, and fishing opportunities. The coastline is populated by many beautiful golden sandy beaches, take your pick from nearby nudist Elia beach, to the family-friendly favourite of Plays Gialos Beach, or party, party, party all day long on Paradise Beach, with its crystal clear waters, restaurants, bars, and clubs with resident DJs, and don’t miss a day out at the famous Buddha Bar Beach Club.

During daylight hours play penance in one of the eight hundred churches that populate the island, most notably Paraportiani, which is a unique construction combining four styles of architecture. Take a visit to the must-see Mykonos old town, known locally as Chora, and only five kilometres from the villa. Here you can wander the maze of streets with the colourful Cycladic houses, and do some serious designer label shopping in one of the many luxury boutiques. Then pull up a table at a seafront restaurant and enjoy a dish of freshly caught seafood, whilst sipping ouzo, and watching the beautiful people pass by. Find out the island’s history and culture at the Archaeological Museum, the Folk Museum, and the Maritime Museum, then go out of town to Lena’s House to discover how the islanders lived. Take a walk up to the landmark windmills, known as Kato Mili, where once the wheat was ground to make bread, and is now a mini museum and residencies. Walk along the waterfront to Little Venice, where the original merchant houses overhang the sea, and is now home to cafes, bars, restaurants, and galleries, best enjoyed at sunset with a retsina or two. Admire the Armenistis lighthouse, still fully functioning and an essential asset of Mykonos’ maritime history.

No visit to Mykonos is complete without a day at sea, join a catamaran jolly and snorkel in the sea, or charter your own yacht and discover secret coves and hidden bays and beaches. For the romantics, nothing beats a sunset cruise, cocktail in hand as the sun sets over the horizon. Further afield the uninhabited island of Delos is well worth a visit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, go with a group or arrange your own private tour.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Your kids will just love a holiday on the island of Mykonos, and there’s a surprising number of fun and family activities to keep them amused. Starting with Villa Argaios’ private infinity swimming pools, and as there are no set hours they can play and splash all day. The villa overlooks Kalo Livadi bay, and it’s a short walk down to the family-friendly sandy beach, with its views over the Cyclades archipelago and the island of Naxos. Nearby Agrari Beach also offers water sports for your older children, a playground for the younger ones, as well as a café and bar.

The coastline of Mykonos is dotted with family-friendly beaches, many of which you can book ahead, the villa is on the south coast, which has much calmer seas, and is safer for children. We can recommend Agios Ioannis beach with an infrastructure with pre-bookable sun loungers and parasols, cafes, and calm seas, and Panormos Beach offers a great restaurant with giant bean bags. Your younger children may enjoy a visit to the Animal Organic Farm, where they can pet and feed the livestock, harvest seasonal crops, enjoy some time in nature, and keep themselves busy with some traditional farming tasks. Whilst your older kids could take a guided hike over the island’s landscape, exploring the local flora and fauna, ending with a cooling dip in the sea.

All the family will love a day at sea, whether it’s island hopping aboard a shared Catamaran, chartering a yacht and discovering secret coves and hidden bays and beaches, and swimming and snorkelling spotting friendly fish. Keep the creatives happy with a mosaic workshop, or a family cooking lesson with a local chef teaching you all to make traditional Greek meze. A trip to old Mykonos town is a must, wander the winding streets, shop for souvenirs, meet Petros the Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos, and then enjoy a family-friendly meal in a sea side taverna. For your intellectually curious offspring, there’s the Archaeological Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Folk Museum, and Lena’s House, all within walking distance of the old town. A short walk along the seafront will take you to Little Venice, a pirate’s paradise of a maze of streets with colourful houses overhanging the sea. Tilt at windmills at the top of the town, the landmark of Mykonos, where they once used to grind wheat and make bread for the islanders, now a mini museum and residencies.

The Lighthouse of Mykonos is seven kilometres northeast of the town, and well worth a visit for the stunning sea views to the island of Tinos, and to watch the boats arriving and departing from the harbour. Who would have thought it, but Mykonos is home to the best Go-Kart track in Greece, open every day from April until November from 10 am until 2 am, which should keep them occupied all day. For those who prefer a more natural form of transport, they can mount a pony and go horseback riding in the charming inland village of Ano Mera. If you want to venture further afield, a trip to the adjacent island of uninhabited Delos is a delight, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the birthplace of Zeus and Leto, Apollo, and Artemis, cross the water by private charter or a shared tour for a fabulous family day out.
