Villa Barefoot has been designed to embrace ethical luxurious living, with modern-day amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout, and state-of-the-art technology. The interiors are furnished with pieces made from locally sourced natural wood and decorated in a cool calm palette of crisp clean whites, and subtle earth tones.
Enter the villa to discover a light and airy holiday home from home of open plan living, with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that let in lots of natural light, and cooling sea breezes. The seating area has a white sofa bed, wooden coffee table, and a built-in flat-screen smart television, with a PlayStation5, and a Sonos sound system. There is an adjacent natural wood kitchen, fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your stay, including an oven and hob, a fridge freezer, and that must-have Nespresso coffee maker. The natural wood dining set is ideal for meeting for breakfast and planning the day. The spacious bedroom is beautifully appointed with a built-in double bed, hand-crafted furniture, a flat-screen television, and a safe deposit box. Sliding doors open directly onto the pool terrace, perfect for a refreshing dip to start the day. The contemporary bathroom has a walk-in hydromassage rain shower, hand basin, and a WC, with complimentary Osme eco-friendly toiletries.
The tiled terrace can be accessed via the living room and bedroom sliding doors, it is surrounded by mature tall trees that offer plenty of shade from the midday sun. About the surrounding area of Villa BarefootVilla Barefoot can be found in a small eco-friendly complex, set in nature, on the north coast of the beautiful island of Kos, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The villa is a seventeen kilometres drive from the international airport and just twenty minutes to the capital town of Kos. The island of Kos is the third largest of the Dodecanese, with a one hundred and twelve-kilometre-long coastline, populated with family-friendly beaches, and crystal clear waters. Villa Barefoot is within walking distance of the tourist resort of Tigaki, where you will find sandy beaches, beach clubs, water sports, bars, cafes, and restaurants, as well as shops stocked with all the provisions you will need for your holiday. Kos is known as the bicycle island, with more than ten miles of cycling lanes, enjoy a scenic sightseeing tour on two wheels. For those who like a bit of activity, you’ll be spoilt for choice with hiking the many walking trails, swimming and snorkelling azure blue waters, kite and windsurfing, paragliding and scuba diving, and horse riding and mountain biking.
A trip to Kos town, the capital of the island is a must. Situated on the northeast tip of the island, it’s an eleven-kilometre drive away. Here you will find a mix of the ancient, medieval, and modern, as you wander through historic streets you will see the Castle of the Knights of St John, Greek gymnasiums, original agoras, and Ottoman mosques. Neratzia Castle is an imposing fortification over Kos town, whilst the Roman Odeon is just outside. Visit a restored replica of a fifth-century BC house in Hippocrates Garden, and sit under the plane tree, where the father of modern medicine reputedly swore the Hippocratic oath. Make your way to Eleftherias Square, the town’s meeting place in the centre of Kos, where you will find the Archeological Museum, stuffed with artefacts from the island’s history. Or enjoy the simple pleasures of some homemade meze and a glass of retsina, as you watch the world go by.
For somewhere more traditionally Greek, visit some of the lesser-known villages, go south to Kefalos, and wend your way around the labyrinthine alleyways to the Folklore Museum, swim in the azure sea, then dine on freshly caught seafood at the old port. Take to the mountains to see the village of Zia, a tiny village on Mount Dikaios, walk the cobbled lanes with its blue and white houses, and shop for souvenirs of handmade artefacts. Not far from the villa is the Alikes Wetland Reserve, where fresh and saltwater meet to form a lagoon, which attracts migrating flamingos and pelicans.
Take a tour and visit one of the many vineyards, where you can sample the wine, and take a bottle or two home with you. If you are feeling adventurous, island hop from Kos to the adjacent Dodecanese destinations of Kalimonos and Pserimos. Go even further afield and board the ferry across the Aegean to the ancient town of Bodrum in southwest Turkey. In the evening if it's nightlife you’re after, go into Tigaki for some cracking karaoke, and Greek-themed dining, and dance yourself dizzy to some rocking DJs. Or go into Kos town for some serious all-night clubbing and beach parties.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere are lots for your kids to do and see when you stay on the island of Kos. Starting with your own private pool, and as there are no set hours when it’s your own, they can splash and play all day. When you stay at Villa Barefoot, they can enjoy the added value amenities of the communal Platia, which includes a children’s playground, a ping pong table, and an open-air cinema, where you can all watch your favourite films alfresco. There are lots of local beaches offering kid-friendly facilities for some fun in the sun swimming and snorkelling, beach sports, jet skiing, and banana boats.
The nearest beach is Tigaki, famous for being family and child-friendly, with shallow crystal clear waters and easy entry swimming in the sea. Take a short drive to the village of Mastichari, where there is a large open-air Lido Waterpark. Open during daylight hours, it has something for all the family, of all ages, including multi-lane, rubber, and pitch black slides, a space bowl, a lazy river, trampolines, beach volleyball, a superb wave machine, a dedicated kids’ area, and a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, as well as sun loungers, and cafes and bars. In the nearby town of Marmari kids can earn their go-faster stripes at the Go Karting Centre, a five hundred metre track with some tight corners, a spectator area, and a café, plus it’s open until 10 pm. Take a trip around the island to discover the local history, art, and architecture of the ancient ruins along the way. There are ready-made tours or hire a car for a family fun day out and about. Discover the island’s flora and fauna with walks and hikes, or swim out to Kastri Islet, a one-hundred-and-fifty metre shore-to-island challenge. Saddle up and ride your pony with horse riding lessons at the local stables, or for your more advanced junior jockeys, go for a gallop across the sands.
Travel overland in a 4 x 4 Land Rover on a full day around the island Jeep Safari, go off-road, visit traditional villages, experience panoramic sea views, and stop for lunch for homemade meze at an old-fashioned Greek taverna. Well worth a visit is the ancient settlement of Antimachia, with its Milos tou Papa windmill, and Venetian castle. For an adventure on the water, all aboard a family day out at sea, charter your own caique, or join a pirate ship and search for the treasures of Kos, swimming and snorkelling in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea.

Amazing holiday
Our Stay was one of the most amazing holidays we ever had. The Villa has the most beautiful Ocean View and the Sea is literally just few footsteps away. You feel very secure and can book everything you need/wish for, like in a hotel, but find complete privacy! We loved that combination. The Villa is very modern and stylish with everything you need- also BBQ etc. Delicious breakfast all with products from local producers. The villa is a 5 min drive/10 min cycle from the village of Tigaki and also very close to Kos Town. Beautiful Restaurant with local delicious kitchen in 2 minutes walking distance.We also appreciated the uncomplicated check-in with a Code digitally. All in all Highly recommended and we will come back for sure!

Simply magnificent!
It was a wonderful stay. The villa was clean, very modernly furnished & just beautiful! No detail was left out. The best thing to do is to find the dressing table with cosmetic towels, two outlets & enough storage space for the makeup and toiletries. The fridge was filled with delicious wine and beer & chips were also on the house! Simply magnificent! The outdoor area and the whole complex were a dream and well maintained! There is plenty of parking outside. Also the breakfast was outstanding for the money! Very diverse with fresh fruits and vegetables ! Thanks to the team!

Luxury stay
It was a great stay with pure luxury. This villa was not completed until September 2022, so we were the first to experience this experience at this villa. The sea is 200 m away and the nearest supermarket is 3 km away. You have complete privacy and the private heated pool with salt water was amazing. The kitchen is fully equipped and there was nothing missing. The private barbecue area has also been unbeatable. Highly recommended is also the breakfast ( per person 12 euros) and the open-air cinema,which you could definitely use. For couples it is absolutely perfect for undisturbed togetherness.
