What Oliver loves…
- For any budding actors and actresses, you’re in luck as there’s a traditional open air Greek amphitheatre in the garden!
- Should your roaming instincts get the better of you, then the iconic sightseeing hotspots of both Melissani Lake and the Drogorati Caves are less than a 5-minute drive away from Villa Utopia
- For beach worshipers, you’re in luck, as both Anti Sami beach and Myrtos beach (both made famous by the Captain Corelli’s Mandolin movie) can be found less than a 15-minute drive from the villa
Villa Cedric is a superb detached villa conveniently located in an idyllic pastoral setting, less than a fifteen-minute stroll from the shops, restaurants and the lovely blue flagged beaches in the popular and picture postcard resort of Karavomylos and Sami.
This modern designed villa is constructed over two floors with the ground floor living area particularly spacious and bright, and with large patio doors leading out to the front terrace, allows attentive parents to supervise the younger family members splashing about in the swimming pool from the comfort of the lovely al fresco dining area, a perfect vantage point for the hotter parts of the day! From the upstairs bedrooms, there are wonderful countryside views from the lovely balconies and provides a perfect setting for a well-earned, end of the day sundowner!
This is a perfect villa for a small family, or for two couples travelling together. This truly is a serene setting, with attractive gardens, a fabulous private swimming pool and less than a fifteen-minute walk from the beach and resort facilities, what more could you possibly ask for from a holiday villa.
What you should know…
- This might not be the best villa for those wishing to partake in a spot of skinny dipping, as there are another 3 villas situated in this large plot of land (the villas and pool areas are NOT overlooked, but…)
- There are steps to the villa and in the garden area - not adequate for those with mobility issues
- The alfresco dining area is not covered, therefore it is the ideal place for late lunches, evening dinners when the sun is not high
Ground Floor - Open-plan lounge and dining room with doors leading to terrace- Kitchen with electric hob & oven, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher- Shower room- Double bedroom with doors to terraceFirst Floor - Double bedroom with doors to balcony- Twin bedroom with doors to balcony- Shower roomExterior Grounds- Swimming pool (7x4m; depth of 1.2m–1.4m) - Poolside shower- Sun loungers- Brick-built barbecue- Alfresco dining area- GardenAdditional Facilities- Air-conditioning throughout- Washing machine- Wi-Fi- Satellite TV- DVD player- CD player
A stroll of about fifteen minutes takes you along to the gorgeous beach and lovely waterfront shops, restaurants and café bars in nearby Sami, whilst a drive of less than ten minutes brings you to another delightful village, Aghia Efimia, well known for its eclectic selection of café bars, restaurants and shops. For those who enjoy exploring vast blue flagged beaches, and escaping the crowds, this is the perfect corner of Kefalonia to holiday in, as the nearby beaches of Anti Sami, Myrtos and Poros offer just that, and more.
Also, why not explore the nearby Melissani Lake, once known as the cave of the nymphs, well, until the roof caved in! Re-discovered back in 1951 and with a depth and variety of colours we only thought capable with the use of Photoshop, when the sunlight hits, it reflects every shade of blue you can think of.
How to reach Kefalonia island
There are two ways to get to Kefalonia island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: During the busy months, the airport of Kefalonia (EFL) receives a great number of domestic but also charter flights. The airport is located 7 km outside Argostoli, the capital of the island.
By ferry: Kefalonia has three ports: Sami (SMI), Argostoli (ARM), and Poros (PKE). If you want to arrive in Sami you should depart from Patra (GRA). In case you want to arrive to Poros or Argostoli you can depart from Killini (KIL). The trips last from 1.5 to 3 hours. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
There's plenty to do with children in the area. Most will want to spend every given hour in the water eith of the villas pool or one of Kafalonia's lovely beaches but sometimes you'll want to do other things especially when it gets too hot. With Sacla serving as a local port toddlers will enjoy watching the ferries arriving and departing from a nearby taverna! For different scenery you can take a ferry to the nearby island of Ithaca, there are 7 sailings a day.
There are a few local riding stables or they can go donkey trekking at nearby Grizata. A boat trip is always popular, it's worth taking one that takes in nearby Melissani Cave or you can hire one of the small motor boats and drive yourself.7km away is the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos, the patron saint of the island. Tours are available and it's worth a visit.
A half day out would be to head to Argostoli to see the giant turtles in the harbour around the fishing boats when the fishermen are sorting their catch. A quick return trip to Luxouri and an ice cream would add excitement to the trip. Lixouri also has a water park. There is also a glass bottom boat trip from Argostoli.

Beautiful spacious property, outside area is great with a bbq which we made use of. Pool was perfect and cleaned daily. Peaceful, just the sound of the goat bells occasionally. Beautiful views from balconies. We went in October and it cost a lot less than in high season so feel we got a real bargain. We were still able to use the pool every day though it was chilly. Shower was powerful and we had everything we needed. We did not walk into Sami but think it would take 20 mins. Great location for exploring the island. Antisamos beach very close and Assos and Myrtos half an hour. Host was only a phone call away and extremely helpful.
We had one of our best holidays ever staying here in this beautiful villa. Amenities fantastic, cleanliness perfect and we were made very welcome by nikolaos and his family up to the point of inviting us to a private family party in one of the other villas. A perfect touch to our special holiday. Thankyou very much. The villa was perfect with the most beautiful surroundings. We would definitely like to return and perhaps stay in one of the larger villas and bring more of the family next time. Cannot wait to return.
