Location
About the surrounding area of Villa PetroicaVilla Petroica offers total privacy in a sensational walled plot just moments from the superb, breathtaking Issos Beach. Guests will relax in these natural, untouched surroundings and enjoy peace and tranquillity. Issos Beach is huge and offers sun loungers and umbrellas, plus it has an excellent beach cafe. It is surrounded by Chalikounas Beach to the north, the beach of Saint George to the south, and the sensational Korission Lake to the east. Close by is Halikounas Beach which also offers beautiful golden sand and the crystal clear deep blue water of the Ionian Sea. You can experience some wonderful watersports including kite surfing at Halikounas as well as beach bliss.
If you are looking for a little more excitement or somewhere for a delicious meal, you may want to head to Agios Georgios. There are many restaurants, bars, cafes, and an excellent range of entertainment. The town has a diving club, windsurfing centre, bike and quad bikes, the watersports club, boat hire, and an array of unique shops. Close by you will find the charming villages of Pagi and Afiones.
There are over 120 beaches to explore and discover as well as the island’s mountain range, valleys, waterfalls, and dense forests. Aside from Issos Beach, some of the best beaches are Palaiokastritsa, Sidari, Glyfada, Dassia, Kalami, and Liapades.

How to reach Corfu island
There are two ways to get to Corfu island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: During April to October, several direct flights arrive to "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Airport from Europe as Corfu is one of the most popular travel destinations in Greece. During these months, the airport also receives many domestic flights every day from Athens and Thessaloniki.
By ferry: Travelling by ferry is the most popular way of transport in Greece. Ferries to Corfu depart from Patra and Igoumenitsa. If you are travelling from Europe, Corfu is easily accessible by ferry from Venice, Bari, Brindisi or Ancona too. Best Suited For: All AgesIssos Beach is so close to the villa and is excellent for families. The beach cafe is delightful. There are many beaches to choose from on the island, from hidden, quiet coves to magnificent, highly organised stretches of sand with water sports and dining facilities everywhere. Close to Villa Issos you will find many watersports at Halikounas Beach and Agios Georgios. There are many schools where your children can take up a new watersport. There is also bike hire to discover this wonderful untouched area. The beautiful Korrision salt-water lagoon is protected and home to flamingos, swans, falcons and cormorants amongst other wildlife. Children love seeing the wildlife.
If you are looking for some excitement, you can head to Aqualand, Corfu’s water park. It is just the place for a thrilling day out. The park caters for all ages and boasts a lazy river, wave pool, kayaking, rafting and extreme slides such as the Double Twister, Kamikaze and the Hurricane Twist.
For a completely different non-water based day you could head to the majestic Mount Pantokrator. It is the highest peak in Corfu and a popular pilgrim spot. It boasts the most amazing views of the whole of Corfu Island. On a clear day you can even see Albania and Italy even though Italy is 130km away!
In Corfu Town, children enjoy climbing the walls of the Old Fortress, the Venetian fort built in the 15th century and the New Fortress. The fortresses boast fantastic views of the turquoise waters. Also in Corfu Town, you can take a trip in Kalypso Star, the glass-bottomed boat that leaves the harbour to explore the Ionian Sea’s fascinating marine life. A 10 minute boat trip from Corfu Town takes you to the tiny island of Vidos where you can enjoy feeding the rabbits, seeing the peacocks, swimming and having lunch at the charming taverna.
