Villa Chevreuil is nestled in a residential area close to the historical village of Cabrières d’Avignon. Here you can meander past beautifully restored ancient, dry stone buildings and pick up essentials from charming local shops. Drink in the history of the area at the 13th century castle and ancient church of Saint-Vincent or take a very pretty walk along the ‘Mur de la Peste’ which extends 27km to Methamis.
Provence is renowned for its stunning villages and some of the best are only a short drive away from the villa. L’Isle Sur la Sorgue is famed for its antique shops and art galleries set around the banks of its picturesque canals. There are fabulous markets held on Thursday and Sunday mornings and it is a colourful, lively place to visit.

Gordes is one of the 'Plus Beaux Villages' of France. Perched on a rocky headland in the Vaucluse mountains at the heart of the Luberon Regional National Park, Gordes is gorgeous with its stone houses, cobbled streets and an 11th century Renaissance castle that houses fantastic art exhibitions that should be on your to do list. L’Eglise Saint Fermin and Sénaque Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields, are also sights worth seeing.

Roussillon, dating back from the Roman times is another of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages' with its distinctive ochre houses, under 30 minutes from Villa Chevreuil. There are plenty of amenities including charming restaurants; cafes, bakeries, specialist shops and art galleries. Place de la Maire is simply stunning and is the spot ‘instagrammers’ head to!

Aix-en-Provence is a wonderful city and around an hour’s drive from the property. Upmarket and classy with leafy boulevards lined with 17th & 18th Century mansions, Aix offers chic shopping and fabulous street markets in its part-pedestrianised centre. Cours Mirabeau is the 440metre long Main Boulevard. The light reflected from the warm coloured stone buildings has inspired artists such as Cézanne and here you can stroll past its magnificent fountains, centuries old trees and characterful pavement cafés.

With over 600 winegrowers in Provence there’s no shortage of vineyards to visit so look up the ‘Provence Wine Route’ to find the best places to sample wonderful rosés or the famous Chateauneuf du Pape.
